Port left unchecked all game, grabbing mark i50 at will, and gifted a few goals through silly errors and dumb turnovers. And can we please for the love of god find someone who can clunk marks??? Everytime the ball heads to us, it's a dropped mark, or just outworked, but kicks to everyone else, they always just seem to be so much cleaner. Outmarked everywhere.

How was that Fritter's only option!!???? Can we not just pass it to someone who is, I dunno, free??? You know, like all the freedom we give others. 11-2 marks i50 is diabolical.

Just about to cheer that we finally got a junk time goal, only to give up another junk time goal. Due to a brain fade. Not the best tackle. Max should know better, even if it was a bit soft Anyway, positives are that we started well and Roo can’t get a much better boost to his confidence than that, he should use that to kick a bag, and drive a win for us. We can win this but got to stay sharp, and no more gifts.

So annoying watching the saints get pumped. The loss to the pies, as hard as it was given we could have won it, would have been easier to take had we just beaten the saints as pretty much every other decent team does!!! We’d only be a game and percentage out of the 8, and i think we can beat port this week. GAHHHHHHHHHHHH 😤

True, can't argue with that. Normally, I'd have said Fritter, but that's not the case right now. And Melky who is normally a lovely kick, but he has not yet got that kick going. But yeah completely agree. They need to just practice set shots all day (if not already - and if not, why?) Increase conversion rate to 60% and we are laughing. Then the conversion will become contagious.

Yeah I reckon there's an element of that for sure. Most frustrating of those was Fritter and it probably emanated more from confidence and adrenalin that lack of confidence/ability to handle the pressure, but had he drilled that, we would be glowing about a hard fought win. It's annoying, that's for sure!!!

I know, it might be the positivity of a week off work to get some things done at home, or my brain is fried from the decades of following the Dees haha, but I just think at some point...it eventually has to be fixed, right? Someone, somewhere will take the lead here and fix it. Like bad kicking/bad footy/bad attitudes, good kicking/good footy/good attitudes are contagious. Very soon, all these shots that hit the post/miss, there will be many that instead go in. It has to Right? lol

100% If he was put up there 80% game time, VERY minor ruck, with the goal of 2 goals a game. We win a few extra games this year. But because we keep promoting/demoting and shifting his roles, he can't develop. Rucking is not helping. I'll be pretty bummed if we trade him, and another team actually puts time into him and he kicks bags against us. Because he certainly has the potential. He is just low on confidence and low on exposure to his ideal role.

I woke up today still bummed about the loss, but a little more buoyant than I normally am after losing (to the filth). Guess I am just optimistic. I think we are looking a lot better this year than the same time last year. We could have and should have won, against the top team right now. That's nothing to be taken lightly. We've had a good 8 weeks - I am actually angrier about the Saints game, if we had played just a little bit better/kicked just a little straighter we would have won that easily (despite playing poorly), and the Pies loss would not mean too much, and I think we can beat Port over there. But 0-2 from those and finals looks extremely unlikely. But in saying that, I have seen enough to know two things: We can actually have a big 2026 if we can look after Maxy and May. Both fit next year would be huge. Draft for a couple of needs - try to sell the dream of a big 2026 for the Dees. We will have Kozzie, Trac and Oliver. They want another flag. The kids are building, they will want their first flag. We need a solid forward presence. I think JVR will put together a few good games this year. He can't be dropped so soon though, he needs a block of weeks otherwise the constant promotion/demotion is pointless. IF we can actually sort out our a) forward entries (just a little) and our conversion (even just a little), we will be a serious threat, provided we start in Rd 1 (or 0 or whatever malarkey those gooses in HQ do next year), and not Rd 6. Hell, with better conversion, steadier heads in the final minutes and this year we win against GWS, the Saints and the Pies - we would be equal 5th!!! And that's WITH a disastrous Rds 2-5!! I know the second point above is the eternal IF for us. But I am positive!! :-) Go Dees

100% I ain't even mad. I'm gutted because we COULD have won it. But I am really proud of the group, and their effort. Some skills errors and brain fades, but we can work on those and build for 2026. Just gotta keep Maxy fresh for one more solid tilt at it.

Truly gutted. We obviously have what it takes to beat the best. The pieces are there, but our i50 entries and conversion remain terrible. Sick of losing these close ones - and x a million to the Pies!!!!

We deserved to win that. Loved our intent, our pressure and spirit for the day. We lost because they took their chances, where we did not. 3 points umps.
