  1. Trac’s kick i50 stuffed us. Why aren’t we manning up in their 50? Players by themselves everywhere. Lame.
  2. No free for high on Langdon??
  3. Can we please stop reducing this to “name calling”?? This is not just a name, and you CANNOT do it in the workplace (do it, see what happens). Now, whether or not the Willie Rioli incident was adequately punished (I don’t think it was) is irrelevant. The AFL has handed out punishments for other players, and it is now stuck with a precedent. Now again whether you think it’s the right number, relative to knocking someone out or the Rioli incident, is not relevant. Rankine knew what he did, and he would know there’s precedent. End of story. Don’t want the punishment? Don’t say it? We need to teach our boys better. And finally, the sledge leading to this terrible homophonic slur is irrelevant. I’ve been called tons of things, on and off sporting fields, and have never said that, and never thought of saying that. I know there’s lots about ranking being a ‘good bloke’. Yeah yeah everyone is a good bloke, I get it. But I dunno, there is something to be said about someone who resorts to the use of a term they know full well is designed to cause hurt. Someone saying things to you? Walk away. If rankine did, he’d be tearing up finals. Instead he’ll likely watch from home which is a shame because he is electric when on. (Unless the AFL does some gymnastics to avoid its own precedent, likely off the back off finals games being worth more or the concept of provocation), which would be dumb but not unexpected.
  4. And the next one falls. Fair enough, although his energy and passion was an important cog in our premiership. Thanks, Choco.
  5. I love this club and have not given up on next year, or the years after that. It’s always next year, right? I’ll be a 22 year member next year. BUT - that does not excuse today’s performance and the continual, we turn up, we don’t turn up stuff. It’s infuriating to never know which team will turn up. Good clubs have a brand and you know what you’ll get when you go to a game. Anyway, go Dees, but a big nope for what was dished up today.
  6. For my 3000th post, I just wanna say: YUCK. 🤮
  7. Not bad, we beat Gunstan by 10 points!! Take That Gunstan Anyway, is it (the pain) over yet? Good luck attracting (good) coaches with that crapola!
  8. We’re not going to beat Gunston, are we?
  9. If we kick 2 more goals, it’ll be a draw with Gunston…
  10. We’re not exactly making a great pitch for a (good) new coach, hey?
  11. We’re really close, hang in there!!
  12. Gunston 5.3 Dees 4.3
  13. Sun’s out, might catch some of that. This is…. Gross. If Troy wants a coaching gig, he’s writing his CV right now. Time to do something… different?
  14. don’t say that! If we get beaten soundly by the hawks then we beat the pies next week, that could knock them out of the finals! If we can’t make it, I’m happy taking someone else with us. And no better team to drag down with us than the pies! 🤣
  15. Tuned in late We started yet?
  16. Just got an email from the Club re the coach panel. Happy there are a few reasonable externals on the panel, Jobe Watson and Director of football at Storm...
  17. Yep - the whole trade 'em all thing is really interesting. Won't be able to field a team in 2026 at this rate! And to trade a known forward (which we sorely lack) for a complete unknown is... bold...at best.
  18. I don't disagree that he looked out of sorts at the beginning of the year. I also think, however, that he was being played out of position. Why was he so far up the ground? Despite the fact that nearly none of our guys lower the eyes, he's one of the smartest lead up forwards we have! And he was nowhere near where we were bombing the ball. If we replace him, who is going to score those 40 goals?? Anyway, you correctly reference his listless start to the year (which I still think was exacerbated by being played out of position) - which if he continued that way, fine, there's maybe an argument to consider an alternative. But if he ends the year playing well (he can only score goals against the teams he plays, he played against soft teams at the beginning of the year and was poor), and with his mojo back, wouldn't you want that version in the team next year? I suspect and hope the next coach will have taken notes that this guy knows how to lead into space and is usually a deadeye in front of goal (a rarity in our team).
  19. Fritsch being named here as one to let go?? WHY? We already struggle to kick a big enough score, and we're going to drop a guy still in his prime - one of our best kicks for goal (even if that's not really saying much)...? I get it, some here don't think he's a big enough tackler or hard enough runner. Personally, I don't think that needs to be his strength. He never was any of those things. He's 2nd on our goalkickers list this year, and in my opinion will probably finish first, with close to 40. Which is about right, particularly given he was dropped a few times and had a rough first half of the year. I've been really happy with his last 1-2 months of footy. He looks more focused to me, and found his mojo. If he can carry that into 2026, with continued support from Melk (I hope for 1 more year, he looks fit to me!!) and JVR having the year he should have had this year plus one target forward. We need more goals, not less. It's a keep for mine. Big keep.
  20. Saw this - wowee. Love Roos, I'll take any positivity we can get right now!
  21. Skills and pride in playing a reliable brand of footy every week, for 4 quarters. No more brain fades/no-shows etc Win or lose, you should know which team is going to turn up to play footy and have a crack. The rest will follow from the above.
  22. Heart ❤️ Chin up, boys. Great effort. Something to build upon for the future.
