  1. In your opinion but never the less time to get creative and either post or preferably direct contact with club. Might be an interesting topic for podcasting.
  2. LMAO - Geez the penny has finally dropped - thats the idea of the thread. No The AFL wants to get rid of pokies - The same AFL went to court ( & won ) to protect its Sports Gambling Revenues. So it really doesnt matter how many times you say it - the AFL wont lose Sport Gambling Revenues. Geez good luck with that line of thinking - Take the AFL to court, cant wait to see your fixture, your equalisation payment etc, etc, etc CEO Peter Jackson taking the AFL to court - yeah right now thats "laughable"
  3. hahaha - media spin??? Monash University Website - is media spin. Now thats "laughable". Personally, I dont care if they ( poker machines in Vic AFL clubs ) stay or go - however, the pressure is building. But I told you that at the start of the thread. Now back on topic - Time to find some new revenue streams of our own.
  4. Here are the views of Monash University https://www.monash.edu/news/articles/link-revealed-between-afl-controlled-pokies-and-rise-in-family-violence Again as I said looks clear cut now the pressure is going onto the Victorian AFL clubs - but I said that in the first post in the thread. It’s now when not if Sounds like a few Victorian clubs have broke ranks and agreed to get out of them. Collingwood, Tigers, Cats & Bulldogs have agreed in principle to get rid of them. Hawks, Blues & MFC have been isolated - bye bye poker machines
  5. Well start laughing big boy - you might not see anything “wrong” with poker machines but the educational institutions similar to who you bumped the thread with are out to end their tenure inside Victorian AFL clubs.
  6. AFL poker machines revenues - as I’ve said all along is the ONLY revenue up for discussion
  7. If you are implying that Tigerland is more innovative than Demonland and we can come up with no better than copying the Tigers - interesting call. I'm sure "uncle Cameron" was a Tiger once so he would be more than happy to see then flourish. For the record, no I have made my position quite clear on Poker Machines, I have empathy with the Anti-Poker Machine lobby but I could not give a rats clacker if they stay or go. The Anti-Poker machine lobby has support in very high places at the AFL. In Victoria some AFL clubs are addicted to Poker Machines revenues - time to come up with a few new revenue raising ideas of our own. Anyway, I'm off to Tigerland and associate with some innovative positive people - watch this space.
  8. "Competition is built on copying others" - yeah well we certainly copied others with a $10+ million dollar exposure to poker machines. Now if the AFL is prepared to smash the strong clubs over this issue - what will it do to the weaker? I'm happy too we can copy the Tigers and align our self with an Educational Institution - I dont see an issue with it either. Not sure its a huge revenue raiser but we are happy to take what you can get. I'm always for improving the welfare of our whole club.
  9. Thanks Chazz - good to see we can copy what the Tigers have done years ago - AFL upping the pressure to get rid of poker machines. Its no longer a mater of "if" only when ... Lets hope we can copy the Tigers onfield https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/afl-risks-weakening-strong-clubs-if-they-ban-them-from-having-poker-machines-says-kennett-20180209-p4yzv4.html Many of the Educational Institutions are now running round Melbourne creating reports on how damaging the AFL poker machines are to the community.
  10. You were all great - I was going to call in but enjoyed the show that much lost track of time. Maybe next week - keep up the awesome work.
  11. Written by a member of the public good click bait - not sure I'm in favour of pumping up the tyres pre-premiership but always like to hear good positive stuff about our boys.
  12. This is critical and often overlooked general public tend to focus on elite talent - but such is life.
  13. Well said. The last 5 AFL premierships ( 3 x Hawks, 1 x Bulldogs & Richmond ) have all came from the same source, the formula is no secret. You are 100% right hard-work is part of the formula but so is injury prevention/ management but that component does not come cheap.
  14. That "supporter" is gone now - Tigers kicked him out. I've never met an AFL coach I would not speak highly about - toughest gig in football. So many boxes that need to be ticked - so many boxes out of their control. Then so much of your reputation is in the hands of the media - its almost become a sport in itself "death by media". So many numpties read the media and have no understanding what any AFL coach faces. Its almost coming to the stage where an AFL coach needs an AFL media / journalist degree before they start their tenure.
  15. Cass you raise a very good point and very relevant to the MFC. However, if you look at the numbers the Tigers did much of their hard work on a membership front long before they landed a premiership. Premierships are won over, many, many years of hard consistent work and you have to "tick so many boxes" to make it happen. Only time will tell if we can also "tick so many boxes" to make it happen.
  16. I can hear what you are saying. And you are right - you can take it any way you like. I'm not sure the Tigers see it the way you do and after a premiership last year - I'm sure many of them really dont care at the end of the day what KB says. Why, for me that little turd head KB can say whatever he wants. Think its generally accepted KB is nothing more than an AFL journalist looking for some "click bait".
  17. We would need a massive mentally mind-shift from the whole football club. Can we average 40,000+ bums on seats over a sustained period of time - even after finishing 14th ? Can we hit 75,000 plus members in a year - even after finishing 14th ? KB is a complete turd head - Tigers have spent many years managing their supporter base expectations. But I dont give an f KB can have his year of pumping the tyres up - I actually like that. Last year was awesome so as far as Im concerned KB can say what he wants. Many people wrote the Tigers off last year - I did not. As a sponsor of their club ( and it dont come cheap ) - we pay over 10K per membership. You get rare access to many of their key personnel ie Dimma, Blair, Francis - you dont win a premiership by luck. Many hard years or hard work is unseen by the public and the newspapers.
  18. Robbos opinion ( and that's all it is an AFL journalists opinion ) could/should be very motivational for our whole football club. It is up to us as supporters to help the players prove him WRONG. Everybody has there part to play - so we can stick it up him if/when we do make the finals. Lets embrace the challenge and prove him wrong. Go Dees
  19. This is symptomatic of the way the game is evolving - larger mids - less talls in your forward line, find match-ups that interrupt with your oppositions game-plan. Evolving a game plan that is less predictable and more suited to planned mid-game adjustments or tinkering instead of haphazard adjustments.
  20. - yeah there are some funny names. I like the horse called - Near Queue which is a bit of a play on Far Queue ... that always makes me chuckle
  21. With any infrastructure project somebody somewhere needs to make some very important decisions. Australia has many unique geographical & climatic issues you must factor in, then overlay our relatively small population dispersed over vast distances - what option is "best" and a what cost do you have to draw the line. Fibre vs Copper? Cost vs performance? Time frames ? Minimum standards vs Possible standards? Future predictions? Lack of knowledge from the general public. Seriously, the list could go on and on. Irrespective who started or finished this project in Australia you will always have variances and somebody somewhere will have some form of complaint. Unless you allocate a bottomless pit of money - Is Australia prepared to do that?
  22. You will never know what you dont know. But yes, that is a by-product of their data - has proved to be a commercial bonus.
  23. The trend is your friend, till you meet the bend - then never catch the falling knife. Champion Data doesn't need to interpret their data - it is up to you to build the model. Champion Data is a goldmine.
  24. Cheers Didn't see Maccas input. All the best hope you make a tidy profit, tough game and it is not an easy business.
  25. If you are backing all combinations at level stakes you will find it hard/impossible over the long-term to turn a profit. Now I'm assuming 2 & 6 were not the same price and your selection for 3rd "the field" all cant be the same price.
