I'm so happy we didn't split our number 9 pick as there are risks associated with it. I thought maybe St Kilda may have taken Xavier Lindsay, but relieved we remained firm and went for the best available and got an absolute ripper. I'm very excited with both of our selections and both players have instance impact like Caleb Windsor did this year. however I'm more excited about Xavier Lindsay in the long term. Already looking forward to season 2025.

I don't have any inside information but I believe the Melbourne Football Club will promote George de Crespigny to the CEO position. George is currently the Chief Commercial Officer. George has been working with the Melbourne Football Club for 11 years. George previously worked at the AFL for 8 years and the ACT Brumbies. George was a great Footballer for the University Blues Football Club.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if we selected Bo Allan for our number 9 pick over Lindsay. After watching Allan on the Preliminary Final and Grand Final in the WAFL. Allan would be very much in the mix ready to play Round AFL Round 1 2025. I did mention that I had a discussion with Tim Lamb when we played against GWS on that very cold Saturday night. During half time break, I was standing next to him watching swimming Finals (Olympics) and we were talking about draft prospects and the Championship Carnival. Tim did mention to me he was very impressed with Bo Allan and spoke very highly of him having excellent leadership qualities as well. I do like Lindsay's elite kicking skills and efficiency. I believe it is very much a 50/50 between Allan and Lindsay. I believe we will be selecting 2 midfielders ready to play in the very early rounds in 2025.

Tim Lamb will be waiting for Matt Rosa on Monday at 9.00am at AFL Headquarters to sign off the paperwork. I'm sure Tim would be getting there early on Monday morning to ensure another offer comes between now and Monday morning. Anyway absolutely stoked taking picks 5 and 9 to the draft to get 2 midfielders.

Carlton are now targeting West Coast Eagles number 3 pick to snare Finn O'Sullivan, who is the cousin of Sam Walsh.

I'm at the game now and Judd McVee and sitting next to knuckles is Harley Reid. Will provide more updates after the match.
-
I'm tipping that Todd Patterson will be promoted replace Tim Lamb after the trade period is finished.

I'm very happy that Brad Green has come in with a hands on approach with external review of the Football Department to happen immediately. It will be interesting to see changes once the review is completed. Peter Jackson was the obvious choice to do the external review. We need a different approach this time and Darren Shand will deliver the structural changes, solutions and improvements for the future for a positive outlook for 2025.

All eyes will be on Hamish Davis this Sunday afternoon

We should be having a look at Jack Carroll from Carlton.

Fremantle can't fit in Pickett's and Bolton's salary together which is the sticking point. Fremantle would love both them. Fremantle needs a buyer to pay for Switta's contract. Switta may be pushed out to make it happen

This is devastating news. To make matters worse Fremantle bigfooty 2024 List Management Thread are already welcoming Kozzie Pickett to Fremantle. It's going to be more draft capital we got in return for Luke Jackson.

I love your optimism, insights and opinions on Demonland. I agree with you 99.9% with your opinions. However, I have a bad feeling that Adelaide are going to play hard ball with us and will offer a future 2nd round pick for Alex Neal-Bullen. Technically I believe pick 25 is the right pick to give us in return. Adelaide are going to play a game of funny buggars with this trade.
-
I agree with you on this. However, the Melbourne members need to fulfil their obligations of being a member and come to the games particularly for Alex Neal-Bullen's last game and saying Thank you to Ben Brown. I'm a Legends member and I pay nearly $1,300.00 and opposition supporters are sitting in our bays when it shouldn't happen.

Thank you dazzledavey36. That is a massive relief.

Yes, Chris from Camberwell has called twice this week on Monday and Wednesday and he didn't hold back. Unfortunately Dwayne Russell gives Chris from Camberwell the royal treatment and gives him plenty of airtime and encouragement whenever he calls. I don't really take much notice what he says but unfortunately the texters gives Dwayne plenty of encouragement to hear from him again soon.

Actually Dazzledavey36. Kane has made some excellent points and the layers of building an exciting talented list are there. Kane has said exactly that many posters here in Demonland, that we need to go hard at the draft for the next 2 years. Let's hope we let Dan Houston go through to the wicket keeper and move on to young talent to set us up for the future and retain talent more importantly. Losing Alex Neal-Bullen is a massive loss. Kane believes that Adelaide is the best fit for Alex and I agree with him. We should get our second round pick back from Adelaide or a future 2nd round pick from Adelaide which gives us some more opportunities with a draft full of midfielders which will benefit us. The heat is on Tim Lamb and Alan Richardson to hit the bullseye on a single piece we do this draft/ trade period. This is a make or break period for us.

Yes, I did go to Gosches this morning. Steve May did some sprinting alongside boundary. I said to Mayzie you are moving very well and he gave me a smile back to me and said to me "I even surprised myself. " However Mayzie didn't join the contact skills after the warm ups. Mayzie joined the Casey group later once goal kicking started. I got there before everyone else and once the playing group arrived, feeling and the vibe was very good which took me by surprise. Jack Viney was late to arrive with heavy strapping around his knee and Max moved well considering he had an ankle brace. Salem moved quite well I thought. I didn't realise that Koltyn Tholstrup looks so much taller and strong up close up and Melksham was guiding Tholstrup. The Skills Session was focused on connection and went longer than expected.

I'm going to the captains run at Gosches on Friday. However the time says TBC in the website. I'm guessing the time is usually at 9.45am.

Yes, I agree with you Dazzler. We can't be parting with our pick 7. If Port Adelaide insist that pick 7 should be involved, then we should walk away from it the trade. Hearing Simon Goodwin's media conference today said for the the 3rd time, we no longer have Angus Brayshaw and Christian Petracca is out for the season. It's an absolute no brainer we have to go to the draft to get 2 Elite midfielders. I can't stress enough how important this trade period is and we need to nail it. No mistakes or misfires, we have to hit the targets. Tim Lamb, I hope you are reading this message. Please don't get up 2 First round picks for Houston. If Chris Davies insist, just walk away.
-
Yes, I am worried he hasn't signed up as yet. There is 3 rounds to go until the end of the year and Tim Lamb likes to get deals done quickly and efficiently. Ed's last 5-6 games has been very good. I want him to stay, if he leaves it would be a massive loss.
-
Yes, I'm very worried about 2025 as well. Firstly I'm stressed about our list profile and List Management. Gawn 32 years old, May 32 years old, Melksham 32 years old, McDonald 31 years old, Ben Brown 31 years. Viney and Tomlinson both 30 years old. We are heading towards the edge of the cliff and it doesn't look good at all. Woewodin, Sparrow and Bowey have all gone backwards in development this year. I'll put my hand up and say we should trade our first rounder in 2025 to get another midfielder in this year's draft. However there is so much risks associated with it. We didn't have a ready made ruckman to replace Max Gawn when he got injured this year. I'm not trying to poke the bear but maybe it's time we need another new set of eyes and Tim Lamb should go. There are some positives however the negatives outweigh the positives. Christian Salem can't get his body right since the 2021 premiership. We should be worried about next season, but I hope I'm wrong and we do make Finals in 2025.
-
We currently have pick 9 our first pick in the draft. If you get a pick inside the top 10 you have to take it into the draft. There is no doubt Port Adelaide will request it. Too many midfielders have left club Harmes, Brayshaw, and Jordan. Bailey Laurie has had many opportunities and hasn't taken the next step. We need midfielders and this year's draft has so much talent. Yes, I would like to get Dan Houston and maybe we are targeting Houston because Christian Salem had too many injuries since the commencement of the 2022 season and we need more elite kicking off the half back. I can see why the Football Department wants Houston. After we played Fremantle last week we don't have the midfield depth it was hard watching our midfielders getting a hiding. Please Tim Lamb go to the draft get 2 picks inside the first round and let Jason Taylor do the rest.
-
I have listened to Simon Goodwin's media conference in full. He did mention Will Verrall is in the mix for selection to replace Max Gawn on Saturday night.
-
Honestly, our priorities are to get some much needed Midfield depth in the draft and I wouldn't be surprised if we put our first rounder on 2025 on the table to secure 2 midfielders in the first round.
