I am absolutely [censored] done with this. How much crueler does it have to get? How much lower to the pits of despair do we have to plunder? The best thing this club has taught me is to never be content with any lead. You lead my 23 points going into the last quarter? Doesn't matter, treat it like its level and try to kick the first goal, then try to kick the next goal, and the goal after that and the goal after that. That is the only way I know how to follow this football club. There is never any room for 'comfort'. You can't be 23 points up and be content when the opposition kicks a goal. No, there is never any God damn room for comfort with this club ever until the friggin full time siren goes and even then you have to hope some a'se wipe didn't take a mark. Seriously, how much more of this dog excrement bullcrap do we have to put up with? I was told repeatedly after Round 23 in 2017 that it would 'burn in the bellies' of these young men. Where the hell was that in the last minute? I don't want to hear any more stupid stories about no pain no gain and 'this is the loss they need to become better' seriously pull the other one. This football club has had enough of those losses and lessons to last a lifetime, it is time for some darn action.

At half time in the game day thread I wrote that it had a feel about it similar to many of those games that we had the edge in and lost. The port game. I even referenced a game from [censored] 16 years ago where Farmer killed us on the siren at Subi. Seriously enough is enough. I and many others are completely at their wits end with this kind of thing happening over and over again. It's been 12 years and this Mt Everest of a task that teams seemingly make year after year of making the finals is getting beyond a joke.

Melbourne, you will always find the way won't you? You won't snatch it from St Kilda but you'll always find the way when it matters most. I haven't given yo hope. Mate, when you're out of it for 12 years you'll take what chance you can get buf I can not back this team to deliver the goods when it counts.

I am sorry, I know a lot of you have other things in life aside from football like your families and partners. I'm in my early 30s, single and put a lot of my energy into this football club. It really damn hurts just that bit more when you feel you have little else. Criticise me if you want I don't give a toss right now.

Personally I thought Petracca taking a mark then slowing it down only to kick it 40 metres 60 metres in the air to a contest lost us the game. However he’ll learn plenty from that. No Viney hurts.

Fn oats it did could have wiped off a minute before they manned up.

Unsure what everyone is ashamed of?

They had a brain fart for the last 20 seconds.

If you think they aren’t improving you are delusional.

I am gutted we lost but a lack of effort is inexcusable and you could not doubt that.

the journey is a long and winding road.

The brain fade happened when petracca marked with 90 seconds to go not 20.

Leadership and coaching cost us in the last 2 minutes. No question we should have iced the game. But the contest was good.

Thats what lewis is there for, he should of shouted at petrac to keep possession easily would have knocked of 45-60 seconds off clock then gone long to boundary, NFI got lost in the moment.

  5. shoulda, woulda, coulda we are [censored] weak when the heat is on. 5 goals up and just gave it away.

why didnt we posses the footy in the last 1.30 minutes? Petracca kicks a barrel wtf? we could have chipped it around and knocked off a minute, we just melt in these situations.

Goodwin has alot to answer for in that last quarter absolutely diabolical coach FMD and FML.

Yeh our loss to PA had nothing to do with our inability as a team to convert our chances. We dominated that game but were totally clumsy going into our 50. You can blame it on 2 or 3 or even 6 bad umpiring decisions. The fact remains  we lost that game due to inefficiency.

I was actually at the game so i had a very good look at things. Yes we had 30 more inside 50's our entries we deplorable but the umpiring alone was rank.

Go and watch the game again and you'll see what im banging on about.

Hopefully a STK win v Rich, North over Pies, Swans will belt Suns, Dockers a chance v inconsistent Bombers, Bris to destroy Crows season however handy ins for Adel, can Blues upset Hawks like this time last year, Bulldogs are tanking so a WCE win, who do we want to win Port v GWS?

If we beat Geelong we want a GWS win, but if we lose a Port win would be handy.

My head and heart say GWS tho....

Can a conspiracy theorist tell me the last game we lost because of the umpires

Port Adel, three 50 meter penalties all resulted in goals , all home town decisions and their were many other deplorable decisions on the night.

A classic example, Jake Melksham's one on one mark and goal in the goal square given for holding, bodied his opponent out, disgrace.

Small minds tend to think umpiring bias doesn't occur.

That's almost as worse as a Pies fan claiming the AFL don't favour the bigger clubs with fixturing etc to generate more revenue.

CARLTON they deserved their primetime slots im sure of it, their a top side playing a good brand of footy.

Blinded by the light. Move along nothing to see here. Must work for the AFL.

Bloody busted hey!! Dodgy bastards. Well Pannell umpires their game last week, will watch with interest going forward

oh no, oh on, this has got stitch up written all over it. Dont the umps stay in umpiring units of 4 for a period of a month or so to remain a level of consistency?

If so, that means that grubby little piece of snot is umpiring our game. See how grubby that club Geelong is.

They've got their hands in every honey pot in the AFL, sent their man Steve Hocking to change the rules to cater for their [censored] list management.

He's a real manipulator that Chris Snott.

    Real piece of work.

Just watching Scott's pre-game presser and Geelong have had umpire Troy Pannell down to Geelong to "help" them with some of the rulings and how they're applied.

My tip is we'll not even be offered KY from the Umps this weekend.

F Me,Tell me he is not one of the Umps for Sat night?

I’ll never forget a game Dad and I attended at Kardinia. I would have been in my early teens at the time (so comfortably over 20 years ago now). We had been down at Airies Inlet for the weekend at my uncles house (he goes for Geelong of course), we had had a great weekend of spear fishing, walks on the beach and mountain bike riding through the back blocks up on the hill.

We were standing on the gravel hill on the Moorabool St side of the ground, amongst a bunch of Collingwood’esk type supporters of the hoops. Now, as anyone knows, when faced with such surroundings, it is prudent to keep things pretty cool and not get carried away with your supporting. This we did and were very civilised all game. Unfortunately we lost the game and were stollling across the oval after the game had finished to get to the car park only to be affronted half way across by another Dad and his son (who would have been about 8-10years at the time). This Dad was clearly in a rage about something and was hurling some seriously obscene abuse in our direction from about 10m away, Dad gave a little bit back but but was very reserved probably taken aback that a bloke with his young son would be so eager to use the c, f, s words and every other profanity you can mention at full voice. One can only assume that he had some sort of problem and was struggling with something that we can only imagine. We still talk about it today and shake our heads in disbelief. That young boy would be in his late 20s to early 30s today and I wonder what would have become of him. Would he follow in the footsteps of his Dad and use footy as an outlet for his inner rage or would he have realised that his Dad was a [censored] and have disowned him years ago?

    Who knows.

What I do know, is that in years gone by I always dreaded playing Geelong anywhere, but especially at Kardinia. But this year, I am not the least bit concerned about playing them there, instead I’m glad it’s there and not at the G. Time will tell if my confidence was misplaced.

Please Melbourne, bring your A game and get the job done. You’ve put us through many years of pain and suffering, now it’s time to realise the potential and shut that bloke from 20 years ago up!

    ??????????????

I went down their the only time in 2005 and its a complete hell hole, their supporters are as Feral as they come. Never the less the dimensions of the ground suit our style of Footy.

I've never encountered such a situation at the footy Whether it be at the G, Etihad, Footy Park/Adel Oval, Kardinia etc. Utterly Disgraceful.

For your sake and the clubs i hope we have a telling win and you can have a grand old chuckle over a nice glass of wine.

So he’s definitely talking about Marrara Oval, where we spend 4 hours s year, and there’s absolutely no chance he’s talking about our training ground, where our players spend a dozen hours a week, which was recently described by a Demonland member as being rock hard?

I’ll never understand why people choose the conspiracy theory over the simple and logical conclusion.

both mate both, do they even do ground pressure testing throughout the year? You'd think it would be weekly wouldnt you.

    Further to this:

"We'll have a look at our grounds, we'll have a look at our loads, we'll have a look at all those things that potentially go into those things."

Goodwin had some padding around that comment to soften the blow, but he's clearly talking about NT.

Of course he is, he knows the root of the problem. Give him a map of Australia and he'll point out the problem to you.

Do you actually know that it is the same as Jones injury, or are you speculating?  There are spectra of soft tissue injuries you know.

As an agnostic I don't believe in gods, or didn't but maybe I will change and believe that there is a god, and not a particularly nice one

???  Oliver and Brayshaw are OK (touch wood).

Jones had a quad injury he was out for 6, I hope its not as severe as that.
