3 minutes ago, Queanbeyan Demon said: What stage are you at?
The five stages of grief, as outlined by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, are: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. These stages are a framework to understand common emotional reactions to loss, but they are not necessarily linear or experienced by everyone. Grief is a personal experience, and individuals may experience these stages in different orders, or not at all, and may even revisit stages. Here's a breakdown of the five stages:
1. Denial:
This stage involves a temporary refusal to accept the reality of the loss. It can manifest as disbelief or shock.
2. Anger:
As the reality of the loss sinks in, anger may arise. This can be directed at oneself, others, or even a higher power.
3. Bargaining:
In this stage, individuals may try to negotiate with a higher power or fate, often in an attempt to regain what was lost.
4. Depression:
This stage involves feelings of profound sadness, hopelessness, and withdrawal as the reality of the loss fully sets in.
5. Acceptance:
This is not necessarily a happy stage, but rather an acknowledgement of the loss and a movement towards integrating it into one's life.
Important Considerations:
Not linear:
Individuals may cycle through these stages, experience them in different orders, or not experience all of them.
Personal experience:
Grief is a highly personal journey, and there is no right or wrong way to grieve.
Other emotions:
Other emotions such as sadness, guilt, and anxiety can also be part of the grieving process.
Seeking support:
It's important to seek support from friends, family, or a therapist if you are struggling with grief.
Beyond death:
The five stages can also apply to other types of loss, such as the end of a relationship or job.
I'm at 5.

We don't have enough kickers from the backline to split defensive zones.
We don't have the speed to roll and go from D50 to break games open.
We are just so stagnate from our defensive half.
Bowey is the only player that can kick and slice through a defensive zone on a consistent basis, no one else.
That's where the game is at these days every other top 6 team has 3-4 playera that can slice through a zone with speed and foot skills.

Completely unacceptable!
Time for some hard decisions!
Time to bring someone in that isn't attached to the players, easier that way.
Steven Smith and Paul Guerra there is alot of work to do, stop the walks with Goody and look at the club for what it is currently.
Memberships will drop under 50k next year no doubts about it.

And to back that up Daniel Hoyne from Champion Data talked last night about the Brisbane Lions .
For the past 2 1/2 years they have been the bottom 2 for aggression at moving the ball forward. The bottom 2 slowest moving ball team in the competition. Chip Mark, Chip mark. Uncontested marks, short kicks before getting the ball 50 to score.
2023 3rd slowest , 2024 second slowest
The first 12 weeks of 2025 they were the 2nd slowest in getting the ball forward.
The last 6 weeks they are the 4th most aggressive side in the comp. A complete change of style. In season. All during this time they have been a regular finalist and won a flag.
How is it that the Lions can make a complete change to their game style in season? We have been told on here that it is impossible.
here's the link you can listen for yourselves.
We can barely recognise what our game plan is.

The changes that have taken place in Brisbane's tweak aren't as dramatic as ours.
Our players and coaches weren't willing to change initially to our current game plan.
Our old GP was designed to kick long to the wings take territory, create a stoppage win stoppage clearance and surge forward from there.

All while being outraged at me having the gaul to question one of our players in his second year.
That is great you are a professional in your chosen field. 👏
Hats off to you that you live in Singapore and enjoy ruining people's hobbies and social interaction with people she has grown to love.
More power to you Wizard.
Does your higher power/boss tell you how cr ap your detailed forecasts or written submissions are when they have seen or heard them?
You are chitting on a poster who dedicates alot of her life to her passion 'The mighty Demons' the Club that you support.
If you don't like hearing it don't read her posts/thoughts keep it to yourself or mute her don't come on here all high and mighty from Singapore thinking you can manipulate others.
Most posters appreciate all her efforts and thoughts on all things Demons/ MFC.

My god this is embarrassing. All irrelevant but of course it does let us know that poster has a connection within the club. Does the poster think they are the clubs mouthpiece?
@Wizard of Koz If you went down to training 99% percent of the time to watch the lads in action in our period of being a bottom 6 club, maybe we would have the same respect for you as we do for @Ghostwriter
Your way out of line here @Wizard of Koz without input from poster like @Ghostwriter and other key contributors us tragics wouldn't have half the info that these sources get by taking time from their lives to provide.
Have a bit of respect for one of the pillars of our training report network.

One of the best to don the red and blue i sending my warmest wishes in his milestone game. 👏❤️🏆🥇
Sorry I'm mistaken, He's played 198 as of last round against Norf.
AFL tables have Clarry down for 199 already, its actually his 199 this week sorry for the balls up.
I'm laying this squarely at the feet of AFL tables.
Apologies.

We have been a negative club this year but I see things slowly turning on field, whilst the wins have not been their our performances bar our goalkicking have been commendable.
Our team is still a decent team, the question i would really like to know is what happened during our pre season to start the season so sluggishly?
It destroyed us.
What I think the coaching panel, list manager, selection committee have finally worked out is that they need to start integrating the next batch of youngsters into the line up and breath new enthusiasm in and around the club.
I'm hoping to see more youngsters get a go in the next month and really generate some momentum on the field and off it with the introduction of new CEO Paul Guerra and new El Presidente Steven Smith.
In the last 3 years we have stagnated as a club with off field issues, negative media coverage, unstable admin direction, lack of progress on new facility, poor recruitment of mature players.
Its just been one bad thing after another and our on field performance has suffered as a result.
I can see the dark cloud that has hovered over us clearing and the club gaining new direction with new leadership and we can ride this new wave of momentum into 2026.

Fritta had a good game, which makes it even harder to find him a spot up forward, Tmac had a good game down back, and it will be a crying shame to drop Turner/Jeffo/JVR who are all growing in confidence and need the exposure.
Then you also have Howes who played exceptionally well at Casey, and showed good form prior to his concussion.
My gut says Tmac will go out for May (unjustified by any measure, because Tmac was excellent), and Petty will either get an extra week off to recover, or he will replace one of JVR/Jeffo, which would be a mistake IMO.
The other option is to play a very tall forward mix with all 3 of JVR, Petty and Jeffo, but with rain predicted, that seem silly. Also makes us too easy to rebound against. This mix only work if one of Fritta or Melksham don't play, and clearly that's not happening unless they are injured.
IMHO Lever is the one who is in pretty average form, and deserves to be dropped. Disco can play his intercept role, and May and Petty can play the lockdown roles. Can't see that happening tho.
Disco is undroppable.
He is the backline for the next 10 years.

18 minutes ago, Jaded No More said: There is nobody more deserving than Max, with or without Xerri likely missing a chunk of games thru suspension.
Grundy has been good, but Gawn is currently averaging:
20.4 disposals
5.6 clearances
36 hitouts
9.6 hitouts to advantage
13.7 contested possessions
47% hitout win percentage
2.2 contested marks a gameAll of those stats are above average or elite
Grundy averages less disposals, less contested possessions, and far far fewer contested marks (0.5 per game!)
Xerri also averages less disposals, but more clearances at 7.1, but again only 0.5 contested marks per game!
Anyone who makes the argument that Gawn isn't the most complete ruckman in the game, is kidding themselves. And he blows anyone out of the water for consistency and leadership.
It would be daylight robbery if he doesn't get his 8th AA jacket.
He'd have to be captain of AA following the previous senior status rules within the AFL.

Having said that our season from here is balancing wins with getting games into young players Kolt being one of them.
I would also like to see Jeffo get a few more games this year.
Alot better by Jeffo today, must tidy up his goal kicking routine though.
Also hit the weights in the off season.
I'd suggest a call to Riley Thilthorpe and asked what his weights program looks like.

Exactly and when he is not on like tonight, we are F kd.
That's why you need other dependable kickers with leg speed to share the load.
