I think the saga with Willy has and will kill them off, they have alot of ageing players and added on top of all that the travel factor. Dusty and his management used the Kangas as leverage to get the best possible deal from Rich. There was no way in the world he would have gone to the Kangas, their list shape they were in and still are is abhorrent. Wreaked of desperation at the time and still does. They are nowhere near a Premiership, they are just a top up club with no significant list plan. Pretty sure they got rid of their list manager this year too who followed Brad Scott out the door.

There is no way his management would get him to sign now. This is his last major pay day.

He is no doubt a player we need in our Forward mix. I think the next two weeks will determine where Elliott plays his footy next year. If he has a reasonable finals games against GWS and Potentially Richmond, he can name his price on the contract. I think he'll be serching for a 3-4 year deal at around 600k-700k a season, no way Collingwood can make room for him, unless he accepts unders on a reduced term of 2 years. I would offer him 3 year deal on 600k with a trigger for a 4th depending on appearances.

For our 3rd or 4th rounder, 2 year deal on a 400k-500k with an option for a third if certain performance triggers are hit. I reckon we should explore the possibility for sure.
