  1. That drift towards capability is chugging along nicely, in the background; frustratingly, it is yet to erupt, slaying opponents in surprising ways. Cannot wait until the season starts ...

    Hardeman's jumper.
  3. You're obviously from Geelong.
  4. It's a tough call on the humble snag roll, agreed. I once lived near a great bakery that made huge phlegm sandwiches (vanilla slices) really well - after a year of having a couple each week, I stopped this treat and lost nearly eight kilos within 5 months. Diet does seem to be important, heh?
  5. I must say, Disco, that offering 'no pressure' as you have done is extremely gracious of you. The selected blend of skills and attributes is most appealing, as well. Let us all, forthwith, join you in the hope that Jeffo rises to the occasion, develops traits that emulate your fancies and proves to be Heaven-sent to meet such a challenge. No pressure!
  6. I would like to hear (as I now live afar from Melb) more about Johnson, not just in photos/live images but also from track-watchers and critical eye analyses. So far, Johnson seems to have raised a few comments; I wish to find out how he might play in the side as a deep forward and back-up ruck for Max. Can anyone assist?
  7. Good comparative observation, air-space, immediate ground protection keeping defenders 'outside that zone' as preparation for a mark. Also a characteristic, at times, of several forward players from the Hawks dominant decade - perhaps a John Kennedy influence?
  8. might be an attempt to teach them how the ball should be delivered to those playing forward in a regular fwd line - what doesn't work (lesson) and what might work (reinforcement) ...

  10. Nailed it...just add pace as one of the ancillary requirements in so doing.
  11. Wonderfully confirming news, Tracca is our winner.
  12. Smart ... but a bad choice most probably.
  13. i hope that is the case in plan ... rotate with Big Max deep forward, p'haps?
  14. Prepping defensive HB awareness, wing to forward flank attack. Change places....
  15. Where there is a will, there often is a way?
  16. Nearly as good as the ordinary sidesteps that Stanley Alves used to do. Not yet up to Stan's standard on the really good ones but then, no-one ever was and never will be able to do what Stan did...
  17. He has ability and pace. What is more interesting to me is that he has Davey's smarts, deceptive moves and an ability to mess up the thoughts of opponents and defenders with agility and immediate assessments of place and opportunities upfield.
  18. Absolutely ripper! Another speeding (and talented) silver bullet.
  19. It seems as if he is under a broad management programme, for which some attention is being enacted. This is probably a very good thing, as he will be needed, early in the coming season, to set examples to our youth and be ever-present in our goal scoring potentials for the up-coming season. That he is exempt at this point from certain activities appears sound and wise - at this point of pre-season - so I, for one, can relax a little with that thought.
  20. Jolly well posited; it shows, despite the recurring argy-bargy from some contributors, the serious track watchers and amateur journalists have been doing a phabulous job for DL participants so far this pre-season. Thanks, guys for your efforts of which so many of us are eternally grateful.
  21. Totally impressive, something to really look forward to on the first couple of game days. Let's hope that he is awarded for his abilities and enthusiasm - receiving a role in the team that really makes a difference - not just an out-of-position assignment.
  22. About time we kept things close to our chests (hidden intents).
  23. Some of us have prayed religiously in repetitive mantras for a forward line system change - and we have been harping on about it for a decade, at least, as if we were the disciples of cant and criticism with our never-ending cries for forward line movement, space exploration, lowering the eyes to pick opportunity instead of chaos, having 'prongs' of travel to reduce congestion and opposition spoiling. It sounds, (at this stage), that Troy is finally moving things along in these needed directions, an apostle of great football, and doubly interesting is the fact that we now have some of the personnel to achieve such logical purity.
