  1. See the comment below. Anyone catch AFL 360 last night? Robbo was bordering incoherent, like a drunk man debating footy and life at the pub. He can barely remember players’ names let alone provide a balanced, robust assessment on the order of their standing in the game.
  2. Does he really have a drinking problem ... this sample is very radical.
  3. It's a trial, appreciating footy and the Demons, to live here in Adelaide. There is nothing about MFC in the media formats. One lives in a cloud of parochialism and cant - so living in that cloud is its own alienation. Still, there are other advantages living on the coast of Gulf St Vincent. Regular visits to 'homeland' are a necessity, though; these are like a tonic and capped off during the footy season with as many pilgrimages to the 'G as possible, to re-establish identity. C'est la vie!
  4. On occasion, I'd really like to see TMac back at CHB. Brown can substitute forward, as can Preusse.
  5. Scully is the most protected footballer in the competition.
  6. Understand that point of view. For me, 'intensity of dislike' echoes rather than 'hated', and is as follows: 1. The Filth 2. Portal Ade 3. Ad Laid Cwoes 4. Wee Gals 5. Gold Coast 6. Wrong side of Sydney 7. Sydney 8. Fremantle 9. Whoreform 10. Essendrug 11. Catty Puts Others are tolerable as we need to additionally beat something to make the final 4 teams.
  7. Good observation well described. Sadly, we have one in the backline, also fitting that bill.
  8. I'd change tactics to start the game - 2 talls only but instructions to bring the ball to the ground for both of them - backed by a medium, a floater, and two smalls that establish a varied feed-out routine for our flanking runners to receive. Even a floated midfielder will assist in this carriage, one would hope.
  9. A tap on the rusty bit by one of our great '...interceptors...' might make all the difference in the game outcome. Mind you, the green snot goblins will award a free kick - so therefore, it will be a sacrificial one but should take him out of the game. We need absolute 'mongrel' in the 2020 season, no more Mr Niceguy this season.
  10. Agree with these observations at the present moment. Whilst we need to further hone our onfield player connections at this point, the flush of newbies has certainly strengthened the team to achieve a higher quality of linked transmissions towards goal - and a dominance of ground space that should be more frequently sought (all wrapped up in the team's mobility criteria). For me, Kossie may well be a key to this mobility; certainly, Lockhardt and Bedford put in efforts to stir the heart against Whoreform and a few more games in real time might favourably tip the balance in the Demons' direction. Our new wingers were also impressive and fit this mobility mix. Spargo was valuable - his tap-ons were first rate. Now we must wait for the older brigade to rollover into a meaner machine of space, run and accurate disposal, forgetting the long-bombs and the static forward readiness that many of these players have exhibited in the recent past. Fritta and The Melk are doing their bit exploiting space options and their preparedness to receive. The result was on the scorecard.
  11. Agreed it was another rubbish green snot goblin evaluation. The Melk was stationary at the time; he had done his bit the get to the ball between multiple opponents. It was Scully who was moving at that time, straight into Melksham and his head-butt on Melksham's jaw was not accidental, just quick and directed. This is one of Scully's fortes - other than disloyalty to supporting organisations (eg: the MFC) - to stage when breaking rule conventions for free kicks. Whoreform are one team that persists with artful dodges for the benefit of the umpires who, at any opportunity, like to be included in the modern game where their participation climaxes with a dreaded and subsequently incorrect 'game-levelling' whistle blast.
  12. That is all true, just another opinion. That is what following the footy is all about - opinions and preferences. No?
  13. Pickett, Lockhardt, Bedford - all in - big threats to defensive lines. Drop Weed, put in Preusse when fit again. Drop OMac. Marty Hore is a must for the backline in tandem with Lever and Harmes.
  14. Great to see, big result as a consequence.
  15. Bedford was lively as well. Great win. Hawthorn played their tricks, conned the umpires as well, the Dees overran them in the second half. Sad to see Scully knocked over so many times - I had to hold back the tears! Marty Hore and Petty should play the backline with Harmes, Hibberd, Salem, May and Lever.
  16. Next thing, it will be the car keys, the golf game and breathing rights.
  17. That is a pleasing consideration as he has the capacity, speed and clearance skills to ably so do.
  18. North Melbourne territory! Still, it is a good brand of footy up there. Wish him well, probably suited to a pace step-down and re-kindle his desire for the game.
  19. One would hope that the return of Hannan and JSmith is a soon-to-be fait accompli. Those two are terrific footballers - very potent avenues for our forward success. Injuries must have made them both doubly hungry for success in their respective contributions.
  20. Back to the old 2018/2019 '...own man plus continuous back-up tagging...' for the likes of Jetta, Harmes, May, Lever, Hibberd, Salem or whoever gets to play with intent on the backline when a certain KPD is graced a guernsey on the team sheet. It leaves us short of a reliable defender with appropriate characteristics and abilities on a rotational basis every game.
  21. BR, these are continuous and now long-standing issues that many of us share; furthermore, across the last two years (at least), can be directly linked to win/loss circumstances for the MFC. The contribution is nearly always minimal. The skill gap and footy intensity of the whole team are regularly handicapped and interrupted; support is one thing, tolerance is another.
  22. Interesting breakdown of selections/non-selected.
  23. Key areas of extended, gross tolerance within ... if there is limited individual success this time, it's going to be 'curtains' one would hope. Just take a look at the continuing talent overlooked, missing out, striving to get to the grade.
  24. is the game telecast anywhere? TV and/or radio.
