  1. Ahhh, beat me to it @deanox Goodwin clearly has been innovative and some would suggest it has been at the detriment to winning matches. Of course (with hindsight) all innovations looks great if you win, and poor if loose. So he's on a bit of a hiding to nothing from some corners...
  2. Speaking to a Richmond supporter 'mate' of mine today - believes we'd be lucky to get one Friday night match aside from our primetime ANZAC event. So, nearest to the pin Demonland Are there any optimists (3 Friday nights plus)? Personally, I think we will get 1 (and a lot of sunday arvo's).
  3. #Humble brag I once presented at a conference for international cricket (in a different discipline) in Sydney, he was the keynote, discussing fat vs sugar in the diet , particularly in the context of sport, before this conundrum has become media popular. Was an insightful monologue. He is well versed, clearly has a wealth of experience and history and I hope he brings forensic assessment to his role On a flippant side note... Perhaps JohGle (Josh Mahoney/Glenn Bartlett) have persuaded him to connect to his inner altruist, rather than capitalist for the love of the club. Perhaps there is ‘seduction in a fading power’...
  4. I concur, my question to the FD department would be, if this assumption was the case, was it hoped by both the FD and Tom, that by merely playing week in and week out , his form would finally ‘snap’ improve?
  5. You could say that for any single team out there @praha
  6. Mmm, I suspect your viewpoint is more objective and less romantic than the journalists...
  7. Imagine if that was Goodwin, there would be a range of posters suggesting that he is only trying to save his job... personally I rate buzza
  8. I presume that the FD have 'made sense' of the poor 2019 vs the very good 2018 around the 2019 pre seasons injuries/surgery and therefore limited preseason for 'fitness' in getting bodies right, as well as cohesion for the team. As well as working on clear deficits : recruiting Wing's - working on delivery into forward line, enhancing the fitness aspects through Burgess, they are backing the same players to have a very solid 2020. Which is their perogative, hence no need for Jenkins (but that does not mean they have not being going for a bigger body forward - as @Yokozuna has alluded to, it just means they have not snared the forward that they would prefer and are not willing/wanting to bring in Jenkins). IF it is a similar outcome to 2019 WITH all these things addressed, then I feel it IS evidence that TMAC/WEID etc is not viable going forward.
  9. I would assume @Demon3, there is a lot more that you probably (and myself as well) are not aware of in our particular clubs decision making process as to why they would deliberately choose not to have him on board. If you were to know these reasons, it would seem less 'crazy' and probably quite astute.
  10. Good to see Dangerfield owning the joint. Imagine if that was happening at the Dee's - it'd be all, 'tail wagging the dog'.
  11. With all your nous, you do understand that it is not only Goodwin making the call on this one. I am curious why you always bring it back to Goodwin saving his job, vs Goodwin looking at the bigger picture and being club first, which if pays off, also saves his job?
  12. Missed your optimism for a while there @olisik x
  13. I didnt say he isnt a nice person...
  14. Because they don't like his character perhaps...
  15. It seems no one has identified the identified key forward as yet on this thread...
  16. The beauty of having loving connected relationships within the club, and fostering loving connected relationships external from the club over many many years. This is the unrewarded and unseen work that goes on within the industry, that allows these trades to happen.
  17. Has the external review created better outcomes for the club yet, than an internal review? Let me know @Clint Bizkit
  18. I think you're the first to use the expression! Congratulations!
  19. aye, correct weight sir!
  20. @Yokozuna - care to put it in a riddle format? ie: "The guy that spreads both butter and his wings, yet remains ocean-bound"
  21. Has the name been mentioned in post#262 ?
