  1. I only listened, haven't seen much footage: 6 - Davey 5 - Green 4 - Bruce 3 - Bate 2 - Bennell 1 - Martin
  2. Meesen's effort yesterday was a pleasant surprise to me. Far exceeded my expectations. Which says a lot because he really got beaten around the ground by Brogan and Lade. But he should retain his spot for next week. PJ was awful (again) and should be dropped for Spencer.
  3. No, I believe that's David Dickson. Robert Dickson played for Hawthorn and Brisbane in the late 80s/early 90s.
  4. Just heard on the radio that ex footballer Robert Dickson has been killed in a car accident in Africa. He was the guy that made the Essence of the Game documentary. Sad.
  5. Needs that weight does Cale. Still getting pushed around a bit.
  6. I find it quite extraordinary that Bennell and Jetta have both kept their spots, but I guess that's because there just aren't any alternatives. This injury list is beyond a joke now.
  7. That means diddly squat when your career consists of playing 2 games at one club, then getting traded to the worst club in the league, whereupon you can't get a game for an entire year.
  8. Oh please. Lockyer's a good player who's in good form. Cheney was playing his second match, coming off a good debut, and he got beaten. That's hardly reason to drop him for someone like Lynden Dunn, who hasn't shown more than Cheney even though he's had plenty more opportunities.
  9. Easter Sunday, two of the lowest crowd-pulling teams in the AFL, both of whom are struggling on and off the field, and an early start time. 15,000. Would be a surprise if it reached 20,000.
  10. The mods are clearly doing their job, since both times I've received these messages they've been from 'Deleted Member'.
  11. Spencer would be extremely unlucky to get dropped, considering PJ's poor work so far. I'm disappointed to see PJ keep his spot. Clearly Maric is not fit. Hopefully he'll be back next week. Bennell can consider himself a beneficiary of a stack of injuries.
  12. It's a stupid argument Pringle, because he would never get picked, and if he did, he would only get one game because that would be enough to show Geelong that he's not worth it. Newton is not a victim of being a Melbourne player. He's a victim of being a mediocre, lazy, worthless footballer. He would be no different in any other team, because it's not the team that's the problem.
  13. That shocks me. I can't believe a magistrate thought he was worthy of bail. And I don't believe his remorse either.
  14. We didn't so much beat West Coast as we did finish the game with more points on the scoreboard.
  15. That is quite true, even though I'm for trying to win as many games as we can. I'm sure the two of you would have had a go at Carlton for taking against us in Round 22 of 2007*. But you seem to be at peace with it when it benefits us. *Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though.
  16. Jaded makes a couple of good points. The first is the specialised nature of the ruck. It's not like playing in the forward pocket, for example, where you might be on the end of some good play and kick a goal or two. To have an effect in the ruck you've gotta know what you're doing: e.g. timing the jump, palming the ball, working in tandem with the midfielders. Martin would know little if any of this. The other point is that our long term view cannot be to use Martin in the ruck. He has enough talent to play CHB really well, and possibly could go forward. But I don't think we can succeed in the long run with Martin as our 2nd ruckman.
  17. According to that list, Robbo should have played on the weekend. Where's alpha33's list?
  18. The same way any venue applies bans to patrons. Use of skilled security staff, CCTV footage, and public awareness. It's hard, but at least by attempting to do it they're sending the right message.
  19. Look closer, and you'll see that that was a stupid HUN miscalculation. They claimed St Kilda had a worse record than us because they'd won 4 and we'd won 5. Do the maths and you'll see that our winning percentage is lower than their's, because we've played about 5 more matches than them over the same time period. We've got the worst winning percentage at AAMI.
  20. What Jaded said should be enough to end all discussion on the topic.
  21. They've still got Ebert, and they could throw Chad Cornes up there too. Still better than ours, but definitely weak and we're in with a better chance than we were 48 hours ago.
  22. Not sure about that. Maybe as a loose backan, filling the holes in front of forwards. Doesn't that show the state of Melbourne's leg-speed?
