  1. Brisbane's change to the Fitzroy jumper should mean there's one less team that our home jumper clashes with. As you said Dees Dayz, the two clubs played for decades with no problem of a clash (mind you so did every other combination of teams).
  2. I would assume that's referring to 2008 where Bruce was basically our captain.
  3. Brings home a bit of reality.
  4. Here's a stack of delistings: Richmond - Chris Hyde, Danny Meyer, Travis Casserly Port Adelaide - Greg Bentley, Adam Cockshell, Fabian Deluca, Nathan Lonie, Damon White, Ryan Williams (senior list) Daniel Boyle, Gavin Grose, Ryan Willits (rookie list) Hawthorn - Luke McEntee, Garry Moss, Zac Dawson, Tim Clarke (all delisted) http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl...8-19742,00.html
  5. Oh for God's sake Mono. I'm getting pretty sick of seeing you slam every single one of YM's posts. It's more annoying than the posts themselves. Did you even read what he wrote? I agree with the whole post, except for Judd (who is still lightyears in front of anyone at Melbourne even with his injuries).
  6. Fantastic work there Jacey. You'd make a great politician. How about: How do you rate your overall performance in your first year? I'd be interested to hear how he appraises himself.
  7. Sorely missed over the last 2 years. I just hope his best isn't past him.
  8. 1 home Friday night game, but maybe also some away Friday night games? We're going to be on Foxtel a lot next year, which I guess is good if we're in Melbourne because it should encourage people to go to the match.
  9. Firstly, not your fault Schtaker, but how can there be an A&C option? How can Melbourne expect to finish next year with 1-4 wins and be able to sign up whoever we want? We've seen over the last 2 (at least) years that players just don't want to come to us. How could we possibly bank on drawing a 'star' to the club if we have another pathetic, bottom of the ladder year? Anyway, we absolutely must try to move up the ladder next year. We need to win some respect back. We need to shrug off the association with mediocrity. We need to give supporters some hope, so that they show up to games. I don't want to have to put up with another year in the bottom 4.
  10. Reminds me of Rudd's summit thing earlier this year. Maybe we can get Cate Blanchett to run ours as well...
  11. I thought the same, but actually the iPrimus sponsorship runs until October 31st. After that, I don't know what they'll wear (unless we've a new sponsor by then).
  12. Yeah, that's how I see it. If someone can do a good job in negating an opponent, and then add something to the team as well, then that's a good player to have.
  13. Yeah that's probably right. Lucky Carlton. But I guess in a few years time when players start coming out of contract, they'll have some salary cap issues.
  14. I got so confused last night. At about 9pm I tuned into ABC for an update, and they were wrapping up from the stadium, and crossed to news, then some other program. So I thought the match had been finished. But then I find out they kept on going, and there was no commentary from the ABC (which I love listening to by the way). Anyhoo, I'd say we're the definite losers out of that draw. Our lack of a frontline spinner = not good for Indian tours. White and Clarke didn't really bother any of the batsmen. As for Kumble, I think he'll give it one more shot (if he can). He's a bit stubborn and probably wouldn't want to finish on a match like that.
  15. Ok then. So I guess the ball's in O'Keefe's court then.
  16. What about maturity off the field? How can Brock lead by example when he does burnouts in his car?
  17. Nicely said. You're right, our logo is a corporate logo. The previous board tried to move the club to the corporate world, by ditching the demon and 'renaming' it Melbournefc. Almost every other club's logo is of its mascot (Carlton the exception I think). We need to bring back the demon (the way it was please, not the new one) I think, because, as you said, we're out of touch with the common man.
  18. Agree with all but Dunn. I think he could become a decent tagger. He did some good jobs this year (e.g. on Cooney), but he needs to learn to take his opposition forward if/when he has a height advantage (e.g. Harvey) Edit: actually, there's no guarantee that a late draft pick won't be better than Bell. That's a 50-50.
  19. Yeah, so good that Adelaide delisted him... He's not a good player. He's played 33 games in 5 years. He isn't up to AFL level. Drafting him isn't going to give us more wins next year.
  20. What I don't understand is how he has any choice. If he nominates for the PSD, doesn't that mean we are entitled to take him with our pick? Or does he sign a contract prior, or makes an agreement or something?
  21. No thanks. Could hardly get a game in a team with no forward line. He's been a fringe player for years, just the kind of player we don't need.
  22. India's 2/41 at lunch on Day 5. We need 8 wickets, they need 258 runs. Draw's still favourite, but if we can get Tendulkar out early on in this session, we're still a good chance.
