  1. Adrian Anderson says: 3 new rules (trading rookies, trading picks only, using mediation) all used this year, so he's a happy chappy. 23 players moved this year. Still against Free Agency because under current situations clubs get compensation for moving players. Says the current system allows for fairness.
  2. Ross Lyon now on SEN: 25 and 62 were offered, St Kilda wasn't going to use 62 and thought 25 was too low. Says Ball will go away and think about his future, they most likely want him back, but he has the option of going PSD. Their 3 year deal has been rescinded. If he wants to stay a new deal will be made.
  3. Yes, but Carlton gets 12 from Brisbane. I think old55 was saying that effectively 11 and 12 are very similar, so you can ignore those, and you're left with Fev + 27 for Henderson + McLean.
  4. There you go. It's amazing how much clearer one can be when one actually says something. There is a doubt over Williams with his knee, but apparently he played at Box Hill towards the end of the season. And unlike others, I believe pick 24 has some value.
  5. OK then, tell me where they did badly, instead of cryptically saying nothing.
  6. Yes, so overall they swap Lovett for Williams, and get picks 24 and 33 for the loss of Nash. They did well.
  7. Wellman pretty much sums it up. Inaccurate, doesn't bring VFL ability to AFL, others are in front of him.
  8. I reckon Essendon wins big-time out of this. Lose Nash, who they weren't playing anyway, and pick 16, which they didn't start with, and get picks 24 and 33, plus Mark Williams, who can easily kick 50 goals next year.
  9. Neil Balme this morning on SEN said that he's confident Wojcinski (and Stokes) will stay at Geelong.
  10. Josh Kennedy and Ben McGlynn to Sydney for picks 39, 46 and 70: http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tab...82/default.aspx Marcus Drum to Fremantle for pick 49: http://www.afl.com.au/news/blogarticle/tab...60/default.aspx And the big one...Fevola and pick 27 to Brisbane for Henderson and pick 12: http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tab...97/default.aspx
  11. I'm surprised, actually. Didn't think the Fev deal would go through. Carlton gets back into the first round as well, plus gets a promising young defender who can also play forward. Well done them. I guess that just leaves Luke Ball.
  12. As it stands, Bradshaw and Fevola have agreed to the move. The only thing stopping it from going ahead right now is Rischitelli. He has to make a decision before 2pm tomorrow, else they'll run out of time.
  13. From http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story...012432,00.html: "Bradd Dalziell has been traded to West Coast and another four players, headed by Jason Roe, are expected to be de-listed."
  14. These are seemingly confirmed: Jolly to Collingwood for picks 14 and 46: http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tab...65/default.aspx Schulz to Port Adelaide for Mitch Farmer: http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tab...66/default.aspx Xavier Clarke to Brisbane for pick 60: http://twitter.com/StKildaFC
  15. Hack of a player, and he's injury prone. I'm surprised Brisbane is interested in him. Gee, the Lions really have been active this week.
  16. Sydney's added an extra year to the deal (now more than $1 million over 4 years), and Mumford has asked Geelong to be traded: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/geel...f-1225784337156
  17. Nicoski??? Burgoyne by a mile and a half. But he won't be in the PSD. He'll either be traded to Hawthorn, or drafted by Hawthorn in the National Draft.
  18. Absolutely pathetic. Makes our logo look like a work of art.
  19. Jones might be squeezed out of the midfield over the coming years. I mean, we'll have Scully, Trengove, Blease, Grimes, Strauss, Davey, possibly Moloney too, and also other draftees over the next few years. Jones at the moment struggles to convince me he's in our best 22, so I can't see him being around 7 years from now (which is a hell of a long time).
  20. http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tab...30/default.aspx 1 year is odd. Jamar should have got 2. Maybe he wants to keep his GC options open.
  21. I've bolded those who I think will still be at the club in 7 years time '06 - Bartram, Bate, Dunn, Jones, Warnock '07 - Buckley, Frawley, Garland, Newton, Petterd, Meesen '08 - Grimes, Maric, Martin, Morton, Wonaeamirri Valenti '09 - Watts, Bennell, Jetta, Cheney, Jurrah Bail McNamara '10 - Blease, Scully, Strauss, Trengove Add Davey, Sylvia, and possibly Rivers to that list, and you get 18. Martin I'm still unsure about. Maric I have massive doubts over. Dunn and Newton ought to be gone this year, but due to luck, get another year. Need to see a lot more of Meesen. Jones, Bartram, Cheney, Valenti, Bail, McNamara and Buckley I don't think will make the final cut.
  22. Love the new banner, well done Demonland! If I could be an [censored] and make some comments, I'd go with CB's idea of finding a pic of Davey in blue shorts, and I'd look at replacing Jones with Grimes if possible. Other than that, though, I really like it.
  23. One question I have is: why is our B&F so late? 21st October, that's a long, long time after our season finished. St Kilda and Geelong have managed to have theirs despite playing in the GF. I don't really understand what the wait is for. I would have thought we'd want to put it behind us and concentrate on season 2010.
  24. Don't know about the collar. I can't see any reason why sticking a collar on a jumper would invoke passion amongst the players. They'd probably just feel a little bit stupid. Let's just concentrate on getting the colours better and the design tighter (if possible).
  25. Mumford is just OK. Nothing special there.
