  1. I wish I could dislike the Dockers but they have developed so many of their players from within. They've had a hard time attracting free agents, yet they have drafted superbly and developed their players so well. The Hawks and Swans have cherry picked so many good players over the last few years, but the Dockers haven't.
  2. So they were out at a bar, minding their own business and not doing anything wrong, and that's a bad thing? What do you want them do, sit at home and wallow in self misery about the loss? Walk around the city aimlessly as if their life is meaningless? Get a grip.
  3. So the Dockers have come out and kicked the first 5 goals against the Dogs in just 14 minutes of game time. They are a seriously good outfit and clearly trying to show us Demon supporters that we aren't the only club they can smash in the first quarter of a game.
  4. Hold on, is that the pot calling the kettle black? Have a look at this post C&B: How is that a contribution? You might have had a gut full of Colin Garland, but he has probably had a gut full of our midfield allowing the opposition to get the ball inside 50 with absolute ease. He was actually one of our better players yesterday and, come the end of the season, I could hardly blame him for deciding to move on and play for a club where their midfield runs both ways on a consistent basis. Stop posting like a sociopath and actually look at where the problem lies. Col Garland isn't it.
  5. And no party needs that,,,
  6. The perfect thread for the glass half empties to drool over. No thanks.
  7. Yeah, apparently Matt Jones was best 22 according to those reports. Just further proof for anyone reading these forums that, outside of injuries and the game plan stuff they may be doing, training reports are worthless.
  8. I'm under the impression that he is contracted until the end of 2016. ' And how long do we wait for Watts to get it? I'm not against keeping him, but do we look to move him on while we can still get something for him? Would have to be something good, but if the offer was there then I would look at it.
  9. The selection for the game was the least of our problems. With the injuries we had there was no choice but to select the fringe players we didn't want to see. Couple that with some poor efforts from the week before and Roos' hands are tied. He has been trying to send the message that if you go back to Casey and play well to the structures and instructions over several weeks then you play - if he then doesn't do that it goes against the culture of hard work he is trying to create and instill in our players. The problem, as many has mentioned, is our complete lack of depth. We can bemoan the usual players all we like and no-one would be incorrect, but it is further proof that another major cull through delisting and trading is required. We still lack quality in so many areas across the ground and tough decisions need to be made. Does Roos finally try and trade Watts for something we need? Do we look at trading Dawes? And if you have a look at our two wins this season you'll notice that we took on teams with midfields comparable to ours. GC with an injured Ablett and the soft underbelly of the Tigers are midfields we can match. We've just played three of the best midfield combinations in the competition and been smacked from pillar to post. We need to get lucky and work some magic to get further depth in there because, if we don't, these types of losses will continue no matter who is in charge.
  10. Rodney Eade could well be this era's Malcolm Blight at this rate.
  11. 2/2 means that's the second part of his Twitter post, hence why it begins with 1/2.
  12. True. I can't deny that. I just think, this time around, we are better placed to cull the list further and make the right improvements. I didn't feel that way 2,3 or even 4 years ago. We have better coaches and better development in place.
  13. Going back to 2008 has nothing to do with Roos. He is 1 season and 7 games into his tenure here as coach. We were mauled today by a superior team because we were abysmal in so many areas. With the injuries we had no choice but to pick 3rd and 4th rate players as we have nothing else to choose from. Once the season is over I'm hopeful more delistings will come and we can improve upon that depth. But we can't compete with the back to back premiers with the side we fielded today, no matter who was in charge.
  14. Rubbish post. Many of those picked today were well before his time.
  15. I absolutely HATE a post like this. You know why? How long are we going to simply blame the coach. At the end of his tenure the players let Daniher down. They let Bailey down. Neeld may be the exception to the rule, but Roos losing them? Give me a break. These players too often pick and choose when they are going to show up and when they don't it's the coaches fault. Ridiculous. Roos is one of the greatest coaches of the modern era and one who every player he has coached, respected. The players loved playing for him. Roos isn't the problem, it's the personnel, and if you can't see that... then nobody can help you.
  16. Not really - the problem is, who would take him?
  17. Not unexpected. Hoped it wouldn't be this bad but with 8 or so players out we were always going to struggle as our depth stinks. The new fellas have hit a well which is not surprising. Brayshaw, Vandenberg and Stretch had no impact on the game. Dawes were bloody awful and, if Hogan is right next week, should be in line to miss out. Pedersen has his short comings but he moves better, clunks more marks and, believe it or not, hits the scoreboard more. That's an indictment on Dawes. I'm hoping many on here don't go for the usual, over the top statements, but come the end of the year there are 10-12 players who should never, ever play for us again. They'll still get games this year while we get over the injuries, but once this season comes to a close they should be cast off from the list and never looked at again.
  18. As I said, not much difference. I might be reading too much into it but we are clearly looking at the bigger picture. We aren't on the level of a Hawthorn but we can certainly be in with a show in our next few games.
  19. Agreed, although the pessimist in me says it won't make much difference. Their run, carry and spread just cuts us up every time we play them. No Smith helps but I can still see them killing us on the rebound and from the stoppages.
  20. Wise decision from the club. If Hogan is sore then he isn't worth the risk. Give him a rest and get him right for the Dogs. Won't make a difference to the scoreline today.
  21. You may as well just set that $100 on fire and be done with it. There is blind faith.. and then there is Hawthorn. No other team across the last 7-8 years has smashed us like the Hawks have. I don't see it changing today.
  22. Just a bloody legend. Had his faults as a coach but gee we could be sensational to watch. Really feel for the Rev and his family.
  23. I'm assuming he gets the vest this week. I agree on both counts that he looked good when he had the footy but clearly faded as the game went on. Happy for him to get another crack this week though as I believe he has a bright future at the club.
  24. Excuse me? I altered one post in the Petracca thread that I quoted, I have no idea where you're pulling this from. Edit - And I'll be waiting here for an apology. I can't alter your own posts, I can only do it when it's quoted and as you'll see this is the first post I've had in this thread. You can retract your above post any time you like, but if you want to make an accusation then at least get it right first.
