  1. Your player bashing is getting out of control. Either keep your attitude in check or there will be consequences.
  2. Getting to be that way but, just in my opinion, the jury is still out on some of those (and a few other) players. But as I said we seem to be definitely moving the right direction !!!
  3. Of course (my brother is an Essendon supporter so that would be pretty sweet), but to me a Grand Final win is a Grand Final win, and that is all I want !!!
  4. No worries !!!
  5. Her forehand and serve have genuinely become things to behold...... Apparently during the tournaments that coincide with the men's tour her coach had her hitting pretty frequently with Nadal to try to learn how to get that extra spin and power he gets onto her main weapon (forehand) because on the women's tour if you can hit with heavy and powerful spin you are almost automatically ahead of the game, given most play fairly flat most of the time. They apparently did this in Madrid on clay as well. I don't know if it helped but it certainly hasn't hurt as she is hitting with far more spin and it is very difficult for the girls to control. Especially when it bounces up high as despite what we all want to think a lot of the girls don't have the strength to get the high spinning ball back, especially on the backhand side. Her serve has always been awesome, if a little inconsistent. What she has added to her service game on the clay is the real kicking one which rises up into the backhand (of right handers) or the slider which simply swings away from the opponent so far that they are in the crowd to retrieve it. These are particularly important on the slower surface because the ball can hold up otherwise. She has been great this tournament but playing Kuznetsova in the semis will be tough, especially given she is coming off a great and hardened win against Serena Williams, but it is not impossible if Sam keeps doing what she has been doing so well and simply believes she can (this is something she has had trouble with in the past and it has cost her matches). We're all with her!!!
  6. This works for me but make no mistake we really don't have a wealth of forward options, but it is a big step in the right direction...... Oh that happens, just wait for him to have a couple of poor games and the world will cave in again !!!
  7. This has got to be one of the biggest whinges of recent times..... Last time I checked the NT is an open market to whoever gets in there with the best deal. It is not "owned" by the Dogs no matter what they arrogantly seem to think. And as for the Women's League, well if they were doing such a bang up (pardon the pun) job on this front then the alleged initiative they seem happy to crow about now would still be with them wouldn't it? But to publicly [censored] out another club trying to make its way in a competitive market (something obviously forgotten by WB hierarchy), and a former employee personally for making a go elsewhere is just pathetic. Especially when they really don't have a moral high ground to take after their dealings with Mission early in the year (which ironically we did not here our club publicly bitching about). Grow up Bullies or you will be made to sit in the corner with a dunce hat on your heads !!!
  8. Oh I love Rafa, his attitude, his sportsmanship, his game (met him once - lovely kid)....... And just for the record I am allowed to have this opinion Titun, even if it differs from yours and makes you wonder. Good for you for loving Roger, not all of us do. I respect the way Federer plays the game, there is probably (maybe) no one better, but he has never been a favourite of mine. And I have problems with how he handles loss. That being said, how the hell is Nadal cocky? Because of the way he looks or how he plays? Honestly rarely has there been a more humble champion on the international sporting scene. Men's tennis has been blessed with these two parked at the top for the last few years. They both (especially when playing each other) make the game greater. Of course this is my opinion, you will disagree, but I will just go back to cheering for who I want to cheer for if that's alright by you !!!
  9. And while we are in Paris, big congrats to Sam Stosur for making it through to her first Grand Slam semi....... Samantha Stosur to take on Svetlana Kuznetsova in French Open semi-final
  10. Whoa Dan back it up a bit..... I said the frivolity was something to behold not bemoan. Geez !!!
  11. One, three and four are all gone, with Fed being the obvious winner in Paris...... if he can!!! If Federer can't get it this year with the tournament being basically handed to him on a silver patter, with particularly the loss of Nadal (awful and horrible as that was - I nearly cried!!), who he has trouble winning against even on the quicker surfaces, then I can't see him ever managing to get that elusive clay court slam win. This simply has to be it - he is fast running out of time. Plus now I think he will get it, put himself into tennis history (which he seems to care a hell of a lot about) and move happily into the next stage of his life (husband and father) and career. Just my opinion !!!
  12. Oh yes, very subtle !!!
  13. I guess Steamin Demon's facts are excellent...... But your right on people getting twitchy, and are now bordering on fanatical :D !!!
  14. From someone currently battling that particular illness I can only say poor kid, and that it takes years to clear your system if it ever really does (mine won't)...... And if this is actually the case for him, then the unfortunate reality is that he may not be the best acquisition.
  15. And here I am thinking that beating anyone would be perfectly fine .......
  16. And the old "conflict of interest" chestnut raises its ugly head yet again..... And having heard this now, excellent stuff, but it does show the level of idiocy that can be achieved by the footy media !!!
  17. Truth be told I am not sure any of us have any real clue..... We have our list of things we want to see and we all have our bias's both for and against certain players, but at the end of the day no-one has any idea. For mine Miller is definitely in the gun, but I am not convinced he will be dropped with Watts coming in and more than likely needing some physical presence around him (and honestly (not to mention sadly) we don't really have anyone else who can provide that). Common sensibility is that Robbo seems to have served his penance for stupidity but is what he did at Casey deemed enough? I don't know. And from here it moves onto many a player from Bate to Bell to Maconald to Whelan to Martin to Johnson to Maric to Jones to whoever else might do something wrong ........
  18. Yes, of all the things in this thread that is the one that is deemed weird ?!!!
  19. 74 750.....hopefully!!!
  20. Ahh the hoopla and frivolity in this thread is something to behold...... I just hope young Jack comes close to our ever expanding expectations because that would indeed make him a star :D !!!
  21. Quick question here fella's, have any of your converts ever tried to get you to jump the fence to their side? And I dated a passionate Swans supporter a few years back in uni, who is still a passionate Swans supporter, although he does buy a Melbourne membership to this day !!!
