WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
Yep I'm with ya mate. I just wish they'd fix the rules they introduced first before going for more.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I'm unsure Cards, but I do remember someone, maybe Fox saying he was there?

Farewell Jesse Hogan
You'd hope he would be at the clubs most important training session and game surely, wouldn't you?

To show his support for the club and players before such an important game, I agree, red flag.....- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
I think coaches will counter this by making sure they try and force a stoppage straight away to allow to push players back if getting beaten. Just my thoughts, who bloody knows, I wouldn't have brought in this rule in the first place!- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
I wouldn't be surprised to see Frost traded TBH.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
It's only going ahead for centre bounces, so basically wont make SFA difference IMO.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
All along I have wanted May, he improves us and is an upgrade on Oscar and Frost, but I dont think a top 10 pick is fair value.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
I don't expect him to go for less than $800k though, I expect he'll go for $1.2-$1.5m. Whether we have to pay 15% like Watts remains to be seen however both totally different comparisons. To get the picks we need, we may have to cough some up and that's fine by me, as long as it isnt over the top.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
The same outragists who howled me down for suggesting May at the Dees, then look who we met last week and have been linked with..... Footy has changed these days, supporters become too emotionally attached to players never wanting them to leave and that's fine, but footy has become a serious billion dollar industry. Footy has changed, I don't like the way it's heading but I have to accept it. It's like fans who admire the loyalty of Nathan Jones from the dark years, they can't think clearly to see he has been utterly terrible for most of the year, never stands up when needed and appreciated the way he burrows in to get the hard ball only to cough it up and turn it over. The club needs to handle his exit carefully but the time is soon. I was never for or against trading Jesse, but I'm always open to ideas and getting maximum value out of a player, whether that be ideas about positional changes or trades. The fact of the matter is, be prepared to lose your favourite player, footy is a business now and never believe any word from any player, club, CEO or AFL for that matter as there's always workings going on behind the scenes that we will never hear about, that's why I'm always happy to discuss trading any player. Also contracts aren't really worth the paper they're written on either, at any club. As Paul Roos and Chris Scott say, any player is tradeable for the right price. Whether Jesse stays or goes we don't know, but from a club perspective, right now is the time to cash in on maximum value if he were to ever leave. The fact that he won't extend and is open to a trade tells me he's already halfway out the door anyway. I expect to get 2 x picks under 10 for Jesse FWIW. My biggest concern that nobody has mentioned is, who pays his salary next year if he goes considering he's reportedly on $800k here.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Good point, the fact he won't sign this summer and is open to a trade suggests his head may be already out the door anyway, I wonder for how long.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Thats OK, Jones, Lewis will be gone by then and maybe Hibberd, Jetta also.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
And wait for next year when we will get less for him?- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Well if Hogan goes, that's 8 off this years list, which just took a curveball. Frost may be a casualty here as may Hunt. Agree Whitfield is a star, skillful and fast, would kick Lewis out of his spot perfectly.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Vince retired, Jones and Lewis in last year of contract, Pedo gone- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Don't understand the obsession of Brayshaw, I'm assuming its because of Angus but isn't Andrew more of what we already have? I don't watch many Freo games so I don't know, also Ed Langdon turns it over a bit doesn't he?- Farewell Jesse Hogan
He'd get more than one first round pick so don't even give those thoughts any space in your head, relax.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
well there you go, didnt want to sign up and happy to go, some egg on face in this thread now- The No T$ No B$ Thread
- Clayton Oliver wins his second Demonland Player of the Year Award
What did he win, a car?- Farewell Jesse Hogan
I think he's taking into account the pick they may get for Neale?- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Port did last year. Gold Coast need and will get players. GWS would trade Shiel as he's likely to leave next year plus they are under massive cap pressure. I'm not saying my scenario would or will happen, I'm just providing ideas that it could happen. I do not rate Shiel, May or Martin as highly as most, even though they are handy players. My actual point was, would people be happy to lose Hogan if we gained better players and more depth.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Preuss comes for peanuts (2nd or 3rd round), Gaff is a free agent (no picks required), Shiel/Martin and May can come via Freo trade (for eg 2 early picks), Lever is already on the list so doesn't require anything. Perhaps discuss the topic than be a smartarse? It's all very doable, as Mahoney has said, we have enough cap space for 2 stars. Vince retiring ($500k), Hogan leaving ($800k), Lewis/Jones contracts likely front loaded, extra space via the new cap plus whatever we have backloaded since the new system took place (which North have done). Obviously we would lose players, possibly Frost, Kent, Hunt etc.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
Yeah he didn't even win the Brownlow so I'd ship him off quick smart. - Farewell Jesse Hogan
