  1. I especially love the blatant push in the back in the ruck contest by the Geelong ruckman before it went straight forward to Hawkins. Ironic Moronic
  2. I kind of understand both sides of it @sydney_demon. Who on earth would want to be an umpire? I think they need to attract a better calibre of professional athletes to adjudicate the game and part of that is cutting out the abuse which is fair enough But, the standard of umpiring seems so low. Why can't an umpire's game be scrutinised like a player's game? Why not drop them if they perform poorly. Pay them well, make it a career path and make it competitive for spots to umpire in the AFL. If you're rubbish, you get dropped. If there is a blight on the murderer's career as AFL ceo, I reckon it's the complexity and always changing rules of the game, the MRO and tribunal and the standard of the umpiring. Totally agree with you, it must just drive the player's crazy.
  3. Smith and Tomlinson stood out down back but geez Bedford was outstanding I thought. Just going so hard to try and break into the seniors.
  4. Two free kicks and 50 metre penalties to Coburg in this last quarter resulting in goals. Free kicks 14 to 29
  5. Three quick goals to Coburg, we're 4 goals up.
  6. Incredible goal by Bedford, screamed out of the centre, kick forward and then followed up for the hand pass and goal. Great stuff. Seven goals up
  7. How can you be up by 6 goals and be behind on the frees now 24 to 10? The modern umpiring game seems to be all about evening things up.
  8. I'm with you @bobo. There was something about tonight's match that just felt like I was watching a team I'd waited my whole life to barrack for. It's was truly wonderful. The flag was fantastic but to watch us just kick into that gear again this season made it feel like the start of an incredible era I'll tell my grand kids about. This team is just something else. The gut running goals of Pickett and Sparrow. The second efforts and defensive pressure when the game was already iced were amazing. The depth we have and pressure for spots seems to be turning everyone into beasts. Petty was hard as nails. Spargo played one of his best games. Pickett and the way he moves through traffic is like no other football player I've ever seen but it's hard running and second efforts that just put him above most other champion small forwards that have played the game. Eddie Betts would be one of them but he never ran as hard as this kid does. As others have mentioned, our field kicking is just so good now.
  9. Scomo could be free soon. (Joking)
  10. Geez she just jogged along in what was probably a match defining contest.
  11. She's had such a sub standard year this year. She can be a real weapon for us in the past but she just seems off
  12. I think we have to leave Harris in the guts and see if she just plays herself into the game for us. Maybe move Lauren Pearce forward more often. And yep Bannon will win this for us if anyone can. We are very lucky to still be in this but we've rolled Adelaide before like this. Time to lift Dees. Get em up Daisy
  13. How was that a tunnelling free against Harris, she just held her ground.
  14. Yeah or incorrect disposal. No rewards for good tackles at all.

  16. Cracking pace. Fitness might come into it late at this pace. Last five minutes of umpiring were woeful. Lucky to be just one goal down. Bring Harris up the field more perhaps. Take some grabs and hurt some people.
  17. This will be an incredible victory if they can grab the cup in hostile territory. Go Dees!
  18. That was the first Melbourne game I can remember watching where my arssse was firmly planted in the back of the couch for four quarters. We were in total control throughout and nobody stood out. We are turning into a beautiful systemic machine that just strangles other sides. How did barracking for MFC become a relaxing pastime? I'm loving this feeling. We did the same thing early last season. Nothing pretty, just keep banking the points.

  20. Can you make him promise he will never leave us again?
  21. No change for mine. We missed out on watching Jonsey and Jetts lift the cup. I'd really love to see Daisy and Paxy do it. They thoroughly deserved a flag. I take Taylor Harris' quiet game as a bit of a positive in that we won without much input from her. Love watching Goldy down back. Shame we gotta go to Adelaide but I think we can go pretty close with the team that played today.
  22. Yeah, the whole interpretation of holding the ball, incorrect disposal seems to be non existent. You'd wonder if it's a worthwhile tactic for Mick to tell the team to just try and bust through tackles because you're never penalised for holding or dropping the ball. I think we got our first free for incorrect disposal by a Brisbane player with a minute to go in the game. Anyways, super proud of the girls. A great grinding win. I really think the women can draw in a whole group of young fans if we promote them properly. It's a different standard of footy but still enthralling to watch. Go Dees
  23. I thought Benny Brown made the big difference for us up forward in the first two games. I reckon this will go down to the wire unless one of Tnackers Weirdman or Fritz (I give up and will spell it like most commentators say it) kick three or four. Covid is going to make this season interesting.
