I wanted to change it to Leonardo DEE Vinci but thought it too lame . Then I had writer's block. As one can tell.

CASEY: Rd 10 vs Sydney Swans
They both probably have to find their groove together again . But they have previously been the reason for our success, denying teams from scoring. Always enjoy hearing Lever shout out directions to everyone. May has frequently played against best opposition forwards so you can't always easily compare defenders. But I think a little more credit for Turner is warranted these days. And your right he's probably still learning but I rate him him currently as at least as good as the other two at present.

MID SEASON REPORT CARD
I'll pay sublime the last two games. Your esteemed opinions for the change BDA? The fitness change has been obvious but I wonder how in such a short space. As mentioned KP and JM huge factors for our scores but there must be more. Obviously winning has lifted morale but the blokes look like they care about each other more. The manner goals are celebrated and the sticking up for others. Im sure Cwood will try it on and I'm looking forward to our response.

CASEY: Rd 10 vs Sydney Swans
It's tough with Tmac for sure. I mean you definitely want a fit and firing Lever in the firsts but given Tmac reinventing himself as the invention he used to be and the form he's shown, I feel conflicted about it. I also don't think I want to see Turner playing forward anymore which is really the only way we could accommodate them all. But it's not that unsound to try. May forward is something I have always wanted to see though. And probably a solution of sorts. And I think May has not been his best this year. Not bad, but not the bloke that would take ten grabs. That bloke seems to be Disco now. Just saying. I'm hoping Jvr and Jeffo dominate today so we have more selection "problems"

MID SEASON REPORT CARD
Thanks Whispering Jack. King's birthday round may be the deciding factor if we play finals this year. Not the final say if lost but we beat the Saints and then Pies currently on top spot, I think we will be in the final eight. Big call and a huge turnaround but given the players returning to form and the youngsters coming through, an understanding one. We are playing footy light years away from last year and even earlier than just six weeks ago. To see Fritta, Oliver, Salem and KP and JM all back and showing form, gives us huge cause for hope . Although Fritta has a fair way to go, I think he may be turning the corner. And speaking of turning, Disco continues to delight alongside his mate . We have the unfortunate luxury of managing Tmac. And with Jvr and Jeffo seemingly playing well at Casey last week maybe some selection headaches for a fwd line will soon occur. AJ already doing his bit.

The Jake Melksham appreciation thread
True but he did play a couple of decent games in the middle on occasion. I remember thinking how fast he was for a forward. Pound for pound he's probably one of the strongest around which makes him bigger as a fwd than he is and tough to match up on. And has a nice razor edge level of anger. Un goldilocks style...Just right. He's done remarkably well not just coming back from a serious injury at his stage but to play his best again. Given his fitness he's probably got another three years maybe. I hope so. I know this is a JM thread but he and KP have made the world of difference. I'm thinking it takes pressure of Fritta and some of the others to get back to their best. Fritta maybe already started.

The Jake Melksham appreciation thread
The same year he did his knee v Swans. Around round 20 or maybe earlier. He was in scintillating form and would he have helped us win another flag for sure.

PREGAME: Rd 12 vs St. Kilda
Agreed. I would certainly like to see him in our team against pies. I'm not saying AJ is an enforcer but he could be if required. It's been a while since we have had players that dish a bit out. So he needs to play against the Saints. Jvr is probably a better choice but AJ isn't just there for his looks and marking ability. Vineys always dependable to stick up for his mates and Melksham certainly doesn't lack ticker. So if Viney plays forward it would make defenders very nervous. I'm tired of seeing Cwood rough us up. Time to give a bit back and see how they like it. AJ is certainly the bloke that could do it. I think he may be a gentle giant but only a fool would test him.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JAKE BOWEY
It's clear that shoulder injury impacted his form. Some players get a serious injury and bounce right back. Others understandably so, lose confidence. Perhaps fear of it happening again or reinjuring it. One could lose confidence in their invincibility and in the back of their mind not necessarily stop them from going hard but certainly it could give a little hesitation. He's gone from people here calling for his head back To AA form and hasn't it made a difference. May and Lever used to be our most important defenders and Salo. The latter was great last week but I'd argue Disco and Bowser are now our best. I feel sorry for Tmac. It could be a case of Tomlinson all over again if he's not back soon. Although is Lever injured again? He does seem to get a few these days. It's great to see previous greats back in form. Especially Oliver. His best game for ages. I mean on paper this team is as good as any. With a lot of younger players getting better. We have some decent depth. I'm hoping Jvr gets amongst them and Jeffo. But I feel conflicted about dropping AJ. In our current form we should easily account for St Kilda. I hope we're not over confident

Also if there are any supporters living near Wollongong please send me a message. I'm bored with forcing my basketball crazed son to watch games.

PREGAME: Rd 12 vs St. Kilda
Is Spargos injury due to Mills? And if so am I correct in understanding he only got a week?
-
CHANGE OF TACT by The Oracle
That's so frustrating for Spargo. He's had a rough trot with injuries
-
Callum Mills
These constant inconstancies not only promote justified cynicism, they must confuse and frustrate coaches and players. Especially those on the receiving end. Possibly turning a few off the game. They annoy the heck out of me.

Callum Mills
Exactly. One week but. Surprised?

PREGAME: Rd 12 vs St. Kilda
Hopefully. But I feel we have three more tough ones after the pieds. Power, Gcs and crows all on their turf. Lose those and it may be all over. Our next four of the season may be ours but two are at Marvel where North smashed us. I know it wasn't just the venue as I believe the Gws game exhausted a team which ( us) has since miraculously turned around its fitness very quick. Our last two are the pies and hawks again so our back will be against the wall. But that seems to bring our best. I like your optimism Roost it far. You are a genuinely passionate Dees supporter and let's hope, on the money. One thing for sure if we win the flag this year, it will be a comeback for the ages. If we don't, the only consolation will be beating cwood twice. And Maynard being injured in the first, so he can't play the second. He got off without any justice. And his victim doesn't play again. Nice work AFL. And the head is sacrosanct. Well restrospectively at least. I think. Then again maybe not. If that was a Melbourne player instead of Mills, I guarantee three weeks. It looked premeditated to me . Despite Spargos height, Mills launch would have collected most.
