POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs St. Kilda
We really missed Bowser. Apparently he is out for another 6 weeks. He struggled to regain form after a very nasty shoulder injury. I think it knocked some confidence out if him. But he did bounce back. Had a tough run of injuries for a player his age. His shoulder one, was a reflection of his courage and commitment. I've just checked our list and discovered Milkshake is still on it. Great to have someone like him who plays bigger than he is, to put pressure on players like Fritta to perform. He's not on our injury list as far as I could ascertain. I'd love to see him back in. It's hard to make calls on players after just one game though, so I wouldn't know who to swap him for. Maybe Sparrow. It's not like for like but I just don't believe he offers that much . At 25 he should be at his peak so its a concern. If Jake is fit does anyone feel he should be in the team? Maybe even as a sub. Jake could be handy to come on in the last quarter and boot a couple. I love his physicality and would prefer him playing further down the ground as a link to our fwd line than Roo. The latter apart from rucking should probably stay as close to the goals as possible and stay within 55m of them.

Yea but that lack of correct identification kinda sums him up. Sounds rough but who? Just doesn't get enough of the pill. I think his best role would be as a sub in the fwd line for a couple of rolls. Either way he's too easy rolled for a bloke his size.

NON-MFC: Round 02
I thought the umps were bog ordinary in our game but let a lot go so as to not decide the game.

NON-MFC: Round 02
Scilly is just a marking machine. At 30 last year he averaged 8 per game. Not sure how many are contested but I'd wager quite a few. We need Lever to get back to his best and be more like JS. Jake is actually a year younger. Petty isn't bad and I'm so happy we can play him in his true spot. But we shouldn't have to rely on Max dropping back. If Lever picks up, Disco keeps improving and Petty plays his best it's not too shabby a backline.

Welcome to Demonland: Jacob Van Rooyen
He seemed to move other players out of the way better than he used too. Maybe he's got more leg muscle. Doesn't really add up though if he's lost 4 kegs and put on more muscle. I always thought muscle weighed more than body fat. But i reckon he's gained both strenth and speed and the ball was sticking to his hands like Trump to a dollar bill. I would like to see him have instructions next week to stay as close to the goal square as possible and not venture to far from it. Imagine he and Kozzie there together with lots of space. Although unfortunately, he will probably have to ruck more given Max is probably knackered and up against two big guns at Freo. One a former Drmon who I've changed my mind and I Hope comes back soon to the warm and nurturing ( metaphorical) bossum of the the Mfc. You never know.

Yea I think your right. I felt like he had some more footy in him despite losing form but I reckon there was stuff going on we are not being told. In fact Kudos to the club for making several tough calls. I felt letting Tracca go hurt ( Norm Smith medalist) especially when he finally kicks 4 goals 1, but if someone doesn't want to be at the best club in the world......so long. You were lucky in the first instance. I do hope Lever picks up though. First game could just be rusty as he got better towards the end. May's a big strong bloke but my money would be on Jake. He's just all muscle Is he still on our list? If not he would make a good fwd coach.

Welcome to Demonland: Jacob Van Rooyen
Thanks Waverley. I guess if nothing else it says I'm honest in my opinions be they right or wrong. For me I was just surprised after a stellar start four years ago when I think he kicked over 35 odd goals but then each consecutive season thereafter he kicked less with 2025 being his lowest tally. And that after 3 full seasons under him. I didn't really give up on him but literally speaking from my post, you could say I did. Which was tough, because your right hes young and had some disadvantages I mention in the 2nd paragraphafter this. I was, howevever, getting concerned about his decline. I'm sure lots of others were as well. Apparently he was too, which is a credit to him because he's taken steps since to improve his game. I heard he got " tutored" by a sports psychologist. In many of my other posts about him I'm pretty sure I've never said anything untoward about him and have expressed several times he's been given a tough job of being a forward and having to ruck a lot which I have always believed has hindered him. And as an extra challenge for Jvr, for the last few years our fwd entries often sucked. In hindsight, maybe my post reflects I'm not as optimistic as you or that I don't express myself as clearly as I could. It's hard to analyse oneself. Especially when I'm talking about footy and Mfcss makes me lose all rationale. I'll try and take a leaf from your book going forward and be more positive. No pun intended. And while still early days, I'm sure we can at least both agree that he's finally going places. In a good way. Six goals one. WOW. Career high tally and he's got his goal kicking boot back on. Something else that seemed to be going backwards. But It was great to see him celebrate all his goals along with his teammates. Perhaps it was about knowing what he can do and seeing him decline that had me all turned around but your right. You didn't say it, but I was certainly a tad judgemental. Cheers.

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs St. Kilda
The only real negative about this game I thought was our backline which conceded over 100 points and a few defenders were ordinary.

Yea but the way he outmuscled opponents made him.look stronger. He may have lost weight but I reckon he's still stronger.

Welcome to Demonland: Jacob Van Rooyen
Looks a lot stronger than previous years. This will do heaps for his confidence. I've seen him get really down on himself with his body language. Hopefully this is his best year and filled him with loads of confidence. A power fwd capable of kicking 6 goals is what's been missing from our club since Hogan and to a lesser extent...Tmac. Petty definitely isn't a fwd so great to have him play where he belongs. What's interesting about this game is that Fritta and Kozzie didn't impact the score too much. Interesting that Tracca kicked 4g and one behind. Was never tgat accurate with us. But I think moving several players on has done the world of good. Although I would have kept May and tried him as a fwd. Couldn't hurt. He wasn't that bad.

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs St. Kilda
It's a tough game to umpire so I cut them slack but they did make a few howlers. Thankfully they didn't get too involved and the free counts were not high.

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs St. Kilda
Petty did once against the Tigers I think but then went to average around almost a goal a game. So I'm not sure if he qualifies.

Umps were rubbish.

Welcome to Demonland: Jacob Van Rooyen
Six goals and one behind. Great set shot. Hopefully this is his breakout year. Keep going Roo. We placed a lot on his shoulders and felt somewhat let down. But he has shown us what he can do with proper fwd entries.

My 3 word player analysis V StKilda
Good summation. Sparrow sneaks into every game and he's hardly ever noticed. Surely we have more depth now?

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs St. Kilda
Not trying to be negative but I think we've done well parting ways with several players.

Payback is sweet. I think Sharpe is a keeper. Roo has arrived. Max just keeps on giving.
