GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast
Max has improved his goal kicking which leaves Tracc with the title of the teams worst shot at goal. In all areas. Lucky we don't play him fwd too often.

GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast
It has been but it was matched only by our lack of it in the first. Good to see a fightback when the game was almost over. I do wonder why in so many games this year we have been caught napping in the start. Game prep not up to par.

Good quarter. Shame we were sound asleep in the first. The umps were not as heavy on the whistle and it showed. Actually missed a few opportunities with Tracca burning a few but he was good on other areas. Well down in marks but at least we showed some intent finally. Need more from Fritta and Sparrow.

Umpires have a clear bias today. Gcs to play finals.

That is the best piece of play from Petty I've ever seen. I have always wanted to see more of it. But alas, pretty sure it won't happen.

Good tackle Petty but that's the usual poor kicking. Why is he bkggfy smiling? Is that funny?

38 to 11 marks against us. Putrid and unacceptable.

GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast
Week in week out he fails to impact games. Sometimes a fwd just has to go and get the pill no .....matter what. I'm sorry DD but one touch is on him. Totally.

Could be the catalyst today. If this pans out we are in for a 100 point drubbing.

GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast
Really. How come he only has one handball...no kicks and no marks for an entire quarter? On track for a game of four disposals...no marks and no goals.

Is Sparrow playing?

This has all the hallmarks of that Saints game.

Remember when Salem used to give us momentum and drive from halfback? Those were the days.

GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast
It's difficult to get excited about games given our season is a bust and Goody insists that Petty is a forward. My real interest and enjoyment is watching Kozzie going from strength to strength.

Harry McKay leaving Blues?
And even the odd goal scored on or after the siren once in a while. One can dream.

Harry McKay leaving Blues?
I want to hold on to Petty. Given the ages and injuries of May, Lever and Tmac we will need him. But definitely only as a defender. It's not his fault he's failed up fwd. He's is an athletic defender and not strong enough to play fwd. Goodys insistence in this has cost us many games and while he doesn't have a great deal of options it has still been a huge error on his part to keep playing him in a position he is simply lost in. It's is baffling how stubborn Goody can be. To have your primary tall fwd kick around 0.7 goals per game is bizarre and a stat that reveals why we have lost so many games. But Goody keeps him there for two years now. Poor Petty struggles to take contested marks inside our fwd line. If he is to play fwd then it should be as close to the middle of the ground as possible but even then he struggles. I feel sorry for Petty and would not blame him for wanting out.

Time to go Goody?
One could well argue that we have failed in recruiting then.

Time to go Goody?
It's not so much the losing that hurts. While true, I did get used to that great winning feeling it's difficult to experience failure again. But it's the fact that technically we have shown how good we are but just don't bring it every single game. Far from it with five losses in a row this year. We are much better than where we are on the ladder so it sucks. And yea the AFL has done some great things but also some shocking. I think if the Tassie team gets up and about, it will be even harder to win a flag so it makes our near misses in two years of straight sets harder to cop. I still wonder why Goody had a four gamer in a finals game in Laurie as the sub when he had to play the whole game. He was no replacement for poor Gus. I think that call maybe cost us.

Time to go Goody?
I know I said I'd take a break from DLand and I'm trying. But I must say our club as best as I can sum it up is... BROKEN. 1......To have three years of diabialical goal scoring issues. 2.... Players complaining in public about the club. 3....Recruiting players like Billings, Fullarton , McAdam who have been on the list for a while now but haven't offered us much. Schache a prime example. We kept him for years but rarely played him. Probably for good reason. But why did we keep him around. ..Goodys insistence on playing Petty fwd when last year with twenty games, kicked a goal every fortnight. 5...Playing games in Nt where we lose and are not crowd favorites. 6...Dropping players when they are in good form for players not in form. Tmac for eg. ( It reminds me of Adam To..) Goody is very slow to make changes during a game. .Our meekness to not just once come out and call the umps out for the disgraceful pies game. ..Our fwd line delivery especially given our failure to recruit enough big body old fashioned style full fwds that can take a pack mark to suit this. I'll say it again because the club doesn't seem to notice....our poor kicking at goal for three years in row....... currently the worst in the entire competition Now not all of these of course fall upon poor Goody. But some of them simply must. So it is I believe, all finished for Simon at our club. He's done a great job in breaking the horrible voodoo and win us a flag but now he's gone past his use by date. Has he been a great coach? I think he has. Some may argue we should have got more than one flag with this list. But I would argue that losing Gus and Melksham cost us. Not Simon. But that's all by and by. Moving forward we need to start again. This year is a bust. Let's introduce a new coach and cut several players. Kings or Queens bday is s time for rose pruning. So too with the club. Sure we played well and were clearly robbed but it was our goal kicking again that helped lose it. And some stubborn coaching. So while we are good enough to beat the number one team in front of a huge crowd and get beaten by power , saints and North.... something is definitely not right. Simon is getting heaps out of them one week followed by zip the next. Surely this is reason enough to start pruning again. Starting with the coach. Definitely.

POSTGAME: Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide
I think it's time to take a break for me. Some of you Petty supporters will be well pleased. I just don't think a lot of our players hearts are in it this year so I'm thinking why should mine be. It was exciting there for a while when we strung some great games together. But aside from players just content to win a contest and then just get rid of the ball as if it were a bomb, the umpiring has turned me off as well. Also Goodys insistence on playing Petty fwd for two years now is just strange. How many teams have their primary tall average around zero point eight goals a game? And we don't have too many options there either. Three years of poor goal kicking is enough for me. I mean if the club doesn't do anything they can't expect supporters to keep following. Do me a favor. If I post again in the next few weeks remind me of this one. Thanks.

Oliver is the biggest culprit. It as if he's just happy to get the ball and then does anything with it.

This team is going back to the dark old days. Let's pray it's not for another fifty. Bye Simon. You've done well but someone has to be held accountable. Your at the top. The buck stops with you.
