Rivers seems to have gone backwards this year. Last week Oliver killed it and it made such a difference. Sadly he was back out of form again today and his disposal wasn't great. But he certainly wasn't alone. In fact outside of Bowey and Max most who had rippers last week struggled today. Salem, Langdon, Kozzie and Melksham to name few. And despite having 100 less disposals, we technically kicked ourselves out of it. In hindsight I should have seen it coming. The MFC of old is back. Win a few and then not turn up. I guess to be fair we have given our all in the last two games and perhaps in travelling again had nothing left to give. But it's a bitter loss not just due to our kicking and big prior wins, it's most likely our finals chances gone.

As mind numbing as the goal misses were, it's the frequency of them each game and year that really bites. It cost us a flag not long ago and that wasn't enough to fix it so I can't see the club doing much now. And even if they do, why now after another season squandered. Ironically it was Tracc who kicked true today. Max for some reason refuses to look at the goals when he's lining up.....just looks down at the ball always when running in...and does not run in but stabs at it. Melksham uncharacteristically wasteful . ... sore shoulder perhaps. Kozzies first attempt was terrible.

Was that our finals campaign killed?

I know but I just had to vent. All my emails never went anywhere despite me signing them...not a crackpot.

What is our record in NT? Feels terrible. Is it worth the money?

Shame on this goal kicking. It's not Afl standard and as supporters we should tell the club it's unacceptable. I'm wondering how the pies will crush us. Even in the last ten mins , three goals down we looked disinterested. Woeful.

We might just be now. Certainly we're today. KP and Oliver and Milkshake all nullified. Even Tracc was a little flat at times. Lever still not impacting. The same old wasted chances. It hurts to watch.

MFC....can't kick ...

You make an example of the biggest offenders. When everyone goes home after training you.make sure that the offenders are still kicking at goal until 10 pm. This isn't AFL standard. I'm sorry but it's a frequent occurrence so the coaches have to cop it.

This feels like MFC of old. Win a couple of games. Be content. Not turn up the next few.

This game can be summed up by Kozzies first lazy shot at goal. Sums up our entire intensity. We look tired. And our midfield got spanked all day. I think we lost our chance to play finals today and it's our kicking that did it. Just like our two finals campaigns in straight sets. The story continues for three years. Talk about inertia. No wonder it took us 56 years to win a flag. Too slow to fix clear lingering issues.

The number of times today we've handballed to a player who gets tackled straight away is up there with our misses. Still time.

First this was disappointing. Then frustrating. Then infuriating. And now it's just boring. Sorry but we should be well and truly in front. Still a chance but it's hard to be positive with this type of kicking.

Hats off to those who go next week after this game. True supporters for sure. It's funny that there is a thread for Goody's head but who is the goal kicking coach and where does one apply? Money for nothing.

And just like that we kick ourselves out of contention. I mean it happens but not every single game, every single year. Surely the club should make a statement and do something. Not like nobody has noticed. Well it seems that way at the club.

Next player that misses an easy set shot gets dropped. I don't care anymore. It's disgusting.

Turner could turn things around. Maybe not. The coaches should be ashamed.

After three years I doubt it will happen. Anyway we are still in it. If we kick straight and stop turning it over in the middle. Lever bought back too soon. Not ready. Coaches have done their homework. Nullify Kozzie and Melksham and we can't kick goals. Maybe Tracc at full fwd. I don't know.

Why are we so bad at goal kicking? Is it a case of not enough practise,? Surely we must be the worst. But why for so long?

The problem is Turner has become our premier tall defender. Lever having a quiet one again. May a rusty first quarter. I'd love Disco fwd though.

Forward tackle count is atrocious. Max doesn't focus on the goals long enough. He looks down with just the odd glance at the sticks and then always misses. Simply needs to lift his head up. Small change. Was AJ's hit he gave out, any worse than the one Spargo got?
