Obvious reason valenti chases and works very hard. Summers doesn't chase or do team things just want the ball for himself and turns the ball over.

I've seen Weetra play. Give him another pre season before we judge him because he does have talent. Bate and Newton were in the same boat playing reserve for there fisrt season so wait and see. Neville struggle in the twos for the first season and a half, then played well got promoted and struggled again! Probably just not good enough.

i have no idea what some people are on. Promote neaves but you want to get rid of jamar. MAkes no sense as jamar is a better player and is not a great deal older!!!! i think we can rookie hughes again so maybe an option with him and neaves as hayes has already been told hes gone!

If you watch games closely enough you will see he pays a lot of interest in games. The same old supporters using trav as a scapegoat gets annoying. Ask any one close to the club and you will find he is very serious about set ups and helping the younger players. Yes he is a bit immature of the ground but when the game is there to be won he tries the hardest ie. david neitz 300th. the same game where jeff white more than once failed to put his body on the line and run hard to contest. But same old people with the same old crap about johnstone.

also mark williams didn't make many moves. He kept it fairly much the same the whole game! How did ferg not get the best? Why was guy martyn not giving serious ground time? HE looks quick and skillful something they needed!

I THINK NOT AS WELL. today also showed why we should steer clear of summers and valenti. Summers has the work ethic that would make pickett look like a work horse. Valenti isn't quick enough or skillfull enough to make it. Juice was hampered by sautner and poyas getting into his space. I think it got clear that sandy blokes were looking out for each other and would by passs melbourne players, and guys like sautner and poyas refuse to pass and just have shots, this again explains why he kicks so many goals. I think you just have to look at the past three norm goss medalists, read and ward are among them!

does anyone think that it was silly having mad monday when sandy are still in the finals. Several players are still playing football, I also notice how little melbourne players are seen down at sandy giving support. This shows how inept our leadership group really is!

I think hughes is only 20, not 22 so is definately worth keeping, and if he wasnt injured would have been promoted ahead of bode. I also hear from sandy people that hayes has already been told that he is not wanted next year. Which is the correct call.

Most of you people in this forum, like a lot in the media are still not understanding the AFL's drug code! If players test positive on match day they are banned straight away, no three strike like in any other sport! IT'ss the out of compitetion testing where the three strike rule is applied and not many other sports that i am aware of do this! It's amazing how people and a lot are parents lashing out at afl players for being 'druggies' yet have no understanding in what is actually going on in society. Drugs are a major problem, and the best solution is education on the issue(like the afl do) and addicts or people who 'dabble' given counselling and and rehabillitation not being thrown away for a bad decision!

I watched the game, i was quite happy with the two melbourne rookies today in neaves and hughes. Thought they played very well. However all the talk about guys like summers and valenti becomming rookies would proved a waste. As it showed yeserday that melbourne listed players have won sandy there last 4 flags. I say this because yesterday the main group of midfielders were liddel sommers and valenti, they couldn't go against afl listed players like cam howat and other who did what they pleased in the 2nd half. A pure class above these guys. They run alright when godfrey johnson wheatley etc are the main focus of the other teams. Another worrying sign was how many sandy players are selfish. There is the obvious in sautner who plays for himself (this is the reason he has these records everyone keeps harping on about) but yesterday hughes led and led up the win yet guys like crowe and biddlecome would not take the first option rather look for there mate ezra who is often to slow on a lead. Then twice martyn (guy) had him twice open in the pocket but blazed over his head. Neaves also would drift into the pocket yet a couple of times the went to johnston who is tiny! It willl make it interesting for when newton gets back, he is obvious choice for first full forward ahead of sautner but im afraid he will not cope being the second forward. Also the whispers around the ground is now melbourne will b looking to part ways with sandy and opting to go back to the stand alone reserves. Bring back the old sub list. I heard his from sandy people, they didnt say there was any real bad blood there just that melbourne needed it to go further.

I was at the game and simon buckley was clearly best on, it is usually a problem with the best with sandy officials doing the best the tend to put sandy players in over melb ones. Also did anyone see the 2's and hughes's goal. One of the goals of the year! Does anyone think guy martyn looks like the zebra mascot? He has a fairly big head and a smallish body lol!

hard to be consistent when he has been out injured, but i think you will find when playing in sandy 1's he averages nearly 2 goals a game which i think is very good for a half forward. Strange that people were pretty keen to get rid of pickett but still want to keep hayes!

What has hayes shown this year? That he can wander off when he feels like it then come back and play, im sorry but do we need another player like this, NO! Hughes should be selected ahead of him obviously. Strong performance after coming of injury. Especially with our ageing forward line.

I agree. I think Neaves has really improved over the two years he has been there! I'm not sure what the situation is with him and two other rookies in Hughes and Bode with being rookies for two years whether the can be rookied for another year. Hayes will be gone I should think; bit of talent but head's all over the shop and is very soft. Going off on the weekend for a soft knock but also getting changed and only half watching while eating a pie from the canteen while the team is still going is pretty average, I reckon! People seem to have a Bode obsession at the moment. He has improved but still isn't as good as people think he is. Trav was Sandy's best by a mile but players like him dont seem to be named in the best. Valenti is sometimes lucky as well as other players are more closely tagged he is left loose a lot. So Neaves and the forgotton Hughes who made a pretty strong comeback after 8 weeks out might be worth a try. Hughes could be a kind of Robertson replacment. Few simalarities in style. smallish, good overhead, both on rookie list and developed late. Neaves future just depends on the faith placed in Johnson and Jamar or hopefullly in snaring Warnock's bro from Freo.

wELL I CAN SEE FROM THESE REPLIES WHY YOUR NOT RECRUITERS. sAYING TO PROMOTE JACE BODE IS SCARY, AS A SANDY MEMBER NOT A MELBOURNE MEMBER AFTER TWO YEARS ON THE ROOKIE LIST HE WILL MISS OUT ON SELECTION IN SANDY'S BEST 22. hE HAS HAD SOME GOOD WEEKS BUT STILL ISN'T A CERTAINTY WEEK TO WEEK. IF YOU ARE LOOKING LONG TERM YOU WOULD SELECT HUGHES AHEAD OF BODE. HE HAS MISSED THE PAST 8 WEEKS AND I THINK WAS DUE TO RETURN LAST WEEK OR THIS WEEK. AND WHEN IS FULLY FIT WILL RETURN TO THE ONES. jACE BODE REMINDS ME OF A HEADLESS CHOOK RUNNING AROUND! NEAVES AND HUGHES SHOW TO ME WHAT THE ROOKIE LIST IS ABOUT, PLAYERS WHO JUST MISSED OUT ON GETTING DRAFTED BUT WHO A CONTINUELY IMPROVING, I THINK BOTH PLAYERS WILL BE PICKED UP BY OTHER CLUBS.

forgot juice aswell!!! juice was good, poor kicking, 2.5, and two very easy chances, stright in front 15 m out on the run. Should be a chance in the next few weeks. Also holland was very good. Solid in defence, will be in next week. My gripe with sautner would be more or less because im not a sandy supporter as such, followed port all my life so a little biased against him maybe!

forgot frawley. He looked really good, good size, quick, nice kick. A few weeks and he will be in for sure

sautner is a joke, selfish and soft. he goes into a marking contest ducking and looking for a free kick! just had to get that off my chest. but a very good win by sandy, the are 6-0. A game clear on top of the ladder. Of the dees players Wheatley, was very good, had 30+ touches, clutched at his shoulder a few times. Bizzel, was ok, got 30 touches, sets up well. NEaves, continues to improve. Looking better and better. Robo, class above the rest. Kicked some amazing goals. Pickett, didn't dominate as reported in the paper, kicked 2 good goals. Slow and unfit. spent to much time on the ground! Hughes- 2 classy goals, spent to long on the bench for an unfit and disinetersted pickett! Buckley. another who spent to long on the bench, was ok when came on but to limited oppurtunities!

they reported on sen that he is playing for sandy against willy. I thought he was outed for this week. they also said it was sunday so not sure how true this was.

Now that our season is pretty much over i think we should try a few things, as well as younger players we should also try positional changes. a few years when rivers was drafted it was said that he was a chb/chf. They way our forward line is atr the moment i would like to see him thrown up at chf. Give fergie a go down back. He is dominating down at sandy!!! Just things like that, any other ideas?
