The problem/intrigue with a list stems from the nature of its definition and the subjective nature of viewing the importance of varying roles in a team IMO. Is it a list of best players out and out? Of most important players? Of important players at important clubs? Of predicting the best 50 this year? As it is, at a brief glance, I cannot fathom Michael Hurley over Brendon Goddard for instance. I also feel a number of players are a champion of circumstance (copyright) - I feel Michael Jamison fits this bill. I'm not a massive Carlton follower, indeed I despise them so my judgement may be biased, but I feel he is overrated because he is a KPP of a likely top 4 team.

It is an interesting conversation starter each year. Will post thoughts after seeing the full list later after I've seen it - but from memory we had two players in the list last year? Frawley and Jamar? With Moloney and Green hovering.

In fairness, Richard Douglas is a gun and I'd trade for him - even if injured!

You have a go at me for rejecting Mcphee then come out with your who's who of football list...come on! It was Priddis anyway wasn't it? And, in fairness (my favourite line lately), I did mull over the Priddis one for a while. I only like Melbourne players, Chris Knights, Kieren Jack, Luke Hodge and Nat Fyfe. But I'll trade for anyone better/diff position to Tapscott - someone who thinks he'll improve.

Maybe I didn't make myself clear - I find the whole situation sad.

I don't understand why people continue to post things like "I don't know the full details, but..." You either wait for the full details to emerge or you don't, there's no real in between and no good comes from prematurely hypothesizing. I also get that this is an MFC site, but how the MFC is people's first thought on hearing a young man is in custody is sad IMO. The MFC's concerns are a distant second (or wherever) here.

Indeed, my if we do the keeper league suggestion (is that what's happening) I may be happy with my team in future years! Esp with Trenners, Watts, Gaff, Sidebottom, Beams, Hibberd, Swallow, Whitecross, Dawes, Curnow, Blease, Saad, de Boer, Prestia, Lynch, Tapscott, Talia and Swift. Indeed I just named pretty much my whole list. My only old dudes are Jolly, Morris, Malceski, Gram and Renouf (5 out of 24).

Hrm - I missed the start of the draft and made a couple of mistakes before figuring out the ordering for autopicks so missed a couple. Not too disappointed with the team, though. Certainly not the best.

Out of interest, where does energy watch fit in?

3-pronged finals series in Adelaide and Brisbane I believe. It's a funny one - I'll happily watch a test series that I don't even know has a trophy or not, but will almost immediately call into question the point of a one day series.

We beat them 3 weeks later in the real stuff. I agree that pre season form shouldn't be totally ignored, but I also don't think it should be taken too seriously.
