A great turn up today to training. Those who organised it should be congratulated, they do a great job and support the club week in week out. All the faithful who turned up in support also deserve a pat on the back - an enjoyable atmosphere for the fans, as was intended. Well done.

Sylvia? Toumpass had 6. Blease needs to be in to develop him. Low workrate - make him go out and fix it up. He's only had one game and a quarter. Sylvia and Jimmy have had two full games. Jimmy needs to go down for confidence but I can see the merits of playing him until he finds the groove. Sylvia must go.

Lecras back after 3 weeks with a broken arm. Surely Essendon aren't the only club to have (allegedly) dabbled. Mark's team for a good while I'd reckon.

The more I think about this week's team the angrier I get - for a plethora of reasons.

I don't think I've seen 5 worse "ins" from an AFL side. None come to mind, anyway. It's going to be another shocking game.

Do you think we have a good midfield? If not, let me see your video of dominating the midfield of an AFL side. It's ludicrous to have a go at a poster who is critical of the job someone at the club is doing simply because they're not doing it themselves. We should not have the mentality of "he's not up to scratch but, oh well, he's the best we've got." We need to expect the best and I, for one, hope that a strong-willed man/woman comes forward to take the Presidency from Don. He's a super bloke and he's done a pretty good job under very trying circumstances (a job he didn't really even want) but I think it's time for him to step aside if the right person comes forward.

Cameron Schwab loves the club - immensely. That's not the problem. To be honest, I'm not 100% what was. I don't think we need people that love the club - we need people who are experts, top at what they do with a clear vision to how to make the club better and to implement it. I do agree 100% that this club really lost something when we knifed our captain. Disgusting - it gets worse the more I think about it.

At the risk of bringing up the whole jumper debate, and to resist bumping the previous thread, I do not understand how we had to wear our clash jumper (which had to have a third colour) while Carlton and Collingwood could wear their traditional jumpers. Farce.

Funny you say that, I said the exact same thing watching it. Schwab knows footy, Schwab loves the club - he'd make a better president than Mclardy. Obviously not now, though. Don was terrible in that press conference and hasn't been great in the media in general. Today may have signalled to him being a good bloke who didn't like to have to do what he did - but his answers made no sense, he didn't explain why Schwab was gone (except to basically blame the fan base) and his saying to Mark (?) that he wanted to finish before calling for questions and, immediately, asking him for his question was terrible.

Of note is that he was originally sacked for being too involved with football matters. He's focused himself on the business side, which Mclardy says is fantastic, yet now he's sacked because, apparently, our football performance is poor. We're not hearing the whole story and I think Don should be the next cab off the rank / hopefully a good, strong person comes forward to lead the club.

Very strange. About an hour ago the memory of the players heading down to Lorne (?) before the Geelong game in '05 came flooding into my mind. Good move - strange that its needed after spending a whole pre season (including a week together in Darwin). I wonder if this has been arranged post Schwab? Some of our players need to pull their heads in IMO.
