Given that the manager of list management said that it was "dissapointing" to lose Mclean, and was evidently in the process of trying to re-sign him, it would seem evident that we, the MFC, were trying to keep him. When he made the decision, we then had to get the best we could. Interesting that in a market where relatively few players are traded, so many are ending up at Carlton... I'm not saying we would have flat out rejected a trade but I don't think we were looking for one. Brock probably didn't like that we're offering only two year contracts.

Wonder how much they've offered him. Tell me Sylvia is close to signing.

Hardly the end of the world, though it's frustrating that players we wish to keep want to leave. Does this strengthen our position in getting Burgoyne?

How have we screwed over our players? Farmer/Thompson/Jolly/Johnson all wanted to leave. Players like White/Yze/Holland received longer contracts than they probably deserved and if anything our club has been too nice to our players. The MFC has long been a bit of a boys club and only now is this starting to change.

I'd hope our rebuilding phase ends after the Rookie draft and the building phase will begin.

Got quite a bit of Frawley about him. Reminds me of O'Keefe in the amount he bleeds Red and Blue. I'm a big Frawley fan, have been since his first few games. Love the way he attacks the game and backs himself.

Like many others in this thread, I thought long and hard before posting anything (and a few deleted attempts) but just couldn't think of anything profound or even helpful. My thoughts and best wishes are right behind you, as I'm sure they are from everybody else on thie site and who knows you. Times like this can get the best out of people, and you seem like a very brave, strong person.

I'm sorry, but Hawkins, Ottens, Mooney and N. Ablett makes that stat very ignorable.

On the balance of play it was at least even in the first half and at 1 nil if that penalty was paid then who knows. But credit where it's due, from there we stopped and chelsea were too good
