  1. .... wheres the Paul Hogan show when you need him ?
  2. its working out nicely for Ricciardo with the changes made in F1, the V6 turbo's & changes to traction control etc. Vettell doesn't seem to be handling driving by the arse of his pants. now he's leaving even better. I hope Alonso gets a better drive for 2015... would love for him to go to Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 to put it up the egocentric Nico Rosberg, but maybe more likely to McLaren.
  3. yep, exactly. and we need to become a club, once again.
  4. love your avatar M_9 thank goodness for this news Re Lacale` of our true home base. Happy Re the 'G' news of alignment of our clubs departments; & dare I say?, maybe a possible Thursday-Night training session & team announcement on the home-ground of the Melbourne Demons??? ........ & very happy to develop things at Elsternwick-Park which has abundant connections Re Public Transport access, & the Footy Ground, & other sporting facilities to entertain our supporters of all ages.. and now with the recently announced proposed building of the Deck over the Richmond Rail-yards & I think, Brunton Avenue as well ? I hope we could end up with a Social Hub up on the Deck between the Richmond Station-the MCG-and the Swan St Oval, immediately East of AAMI Park... If they relocated the Hammer-Throw area to the Alber-Park Athletics Complex, then built the Deck over the current hammer throw area (adjacent to the Richmond station) & across Swan St at this section, it would then Link the Station & the MCG, & the AAMI-Park complex, at an easy access height to the Station & On-Deck facilities... we could have our Social Facility, still overlooking the Training Oval in-between AAMI Park & Gosch's Paddock. https://www.google.com/maps?t=k&output=classic ( copy & paste > {135 olympic boulevard MELBOURNE} into map) I hope this is a plan Our people are thinking Of. # Edit: I have just found that it appears the hammer throw area has already gone.
  5. and this is why we need some elders of High quality, like RO'K. the culture shift is not easy, even for the leaders who grew up in red & blue like Jones. they haven't had topline leaders themselves to show them the way. And to support them when they become captain. Our recent journey would be enough to make any strong character keep on 2nd guessing themselves. and if Luke Ball were available, I'd grab him as well, they'd be my top leaders, RO'K & Ball. they wouldn't have to play every game, but we need them around the club with they're playing shorts & training tops on, chasing the leather.
  6. I feel like I'd rather Brayshaw of the 2 mids top of this draft, but still prefer a Shiel deal. Happy enough with the saints spending P-1+ for Cameron... which most likely gives Petracca to GWS, who inturn have the loss of a mid covered. if petracca is short of breath it may take him some time to get up to fitness, losing weight doing so.
  7. who said they won't with Patton going down with his 2nd knee reco... The incentive they need is Shiel can walk into the draft next year for nothing if uncontracted. try to stop a player from leaving if they Want Out... Shiel & Jaksch are meant to want Out, to come home. so they have to trade or lose them for zilch.... but the saints would be interested in both of them as well. We have to convince the boys to come on down to the 'G'...
  8. I'd like to add Pickett into this mix around the P-8 area. ... if we could get something going with GCSuns, that may be cool. P-2 for they're 2 picks, & a player... if we need to add something extra, OK. P-3+ (for Shiel+Jaksch).
  9. but also stats can deceive, I'd be interested in which type of club took the fails & if the power clubs with top 5 picks got winners out of them.
  10. ha, maybe we can nickname him 'Forest'.
  11. the thought had just occurred to me as well GO... they wouldn't would they? we will have to take the returns as they pop up.
  12. Would the Saints take Shiel & Jaksch for P-1 & something?
  13. cows shouldn't lay on they're backs, or on yours, I feel certain about that one Jazza. not so sure about lamas, butt.
  14. Black/OliveGreen; at the moment & looks like raining Catters & Doggies
  15. maybe the other way ? What about our Hypothetical compo pick & P-23, to GWS for Shiels & Jaksch ? & what about our 1st Pick & 3rd Rnd Pick, to the GCSuns for Picks 11 & 15?... or one pick & a player?
  16. his skills sound good LT. Would North have anything we would trade P-4 to them for; player & pick ? I think we'll trade both picks IF we get a compo pick. for player + pick scenarios. If we could get say Shiel & Jaksch, for P-2or3, & our 2nd Rndr, I'd take it.
  17. thats good, getting the Spit ready next week... don't mind at all if the price of a good legof lamb comes down a bit. leg, rack, sideof, whatever your preference, as long as its priced right, we may get it after 15 ? pickets holding solid ?
  18. a club like the saints needs mids. they also need talls, but not as much as mids & Stanley went alright last week.
  19. like the read on duggan. haven't seen him. but sounds good for what we need. after the mids & swingman trades - in.
  20. I haven't labelled anyone soft stmj... I'm trying to say what I would like the club to do re changing our culture, is to bed down the New culture with players who already have the wanton physical mental psyche, which you yourself just mentioned, to do the physical hunting. playing footy isn't soft..... BUT by AFL standards, there are some Soft AFL players about. & We've had way too many of them, over the last 12 Yrs.. To bed in the harder culture, we should refrain from 'the skilled but timid outside type players' for a couple of years; save for father sons.
  21. it has both stmj hard culture starts with the basics of wanting to go at the opposition, to tackle, to hurt, to chase, etc... then from there, mental toughness comes into the picture, after the basics. concentration under pressure, focus, those bits need to be in the package. size/strength/weight is a bonus in this picture. but we need NOW with our main targets. if we get Stretch in Rnd 3? we need to make sure our early selections have the WANT to Go-Hard, & the Want to hurt opposition physically, & on the scoreboard as well. This is what I'm on about, the lightweights don't have the bodies yet, to hurt the oppo' physically yet. there are the odd exceptions to this. morton & bennell do not come to mind in this scenario. save the real outsiders for 2 Yrs time, where we can,,, Stretch accepted. build the Go-Hard attitudes Now, & let the current lollipop-man players go to Casey, or stay OFF our list. we do not need more 'only outside' types on our list...
  22. agreed, & we don't have 2 yrs to develop their engines & body. Our needs are Now I think we'll try to trade a pick again, for player + pick; or trade 2 picks for 2 players. eg P-4 & P-23 + steak-knives, for shiel & tomlinson. I want Jaksch as well, somehow.
