  1. Pity he couldn't even kick 40m on the weekend <_<
  2. So we have to protect poor little Frawley because he is skinny but it's perfectly ok to throw Cale Morton 'to the wolves' even though he is 4 kg's lighter and the same height? How precious has this football club become? He's in his 2nd year and he wasn't bottom age, and considering our complete lack of KP talent he should making a statement about his future, if he's as talented as alot of Melbourne fans believe. In reality he's just going at Sandy and not displaying anything to suggest he'll be great at anything. I'd love for him to prove me wrong because we desperately need a halfway decent tall defender but as it stands he's heading in the same direction as the vast majority of the other KPP's that Craig Cameron recruited.
  3. FFS, height has nothing to do with being able to play in a Key Position, if it did Keplar Bradley would be the best going around and Brereton would have been nothing. What, exactly, are the attributes that Frawley possesses that automatically make him such a great KPP? One on one he's nothing special and he can't read the play in the same way as Scarlett or Glass. The reality is that he has shown nothing to suggest he'll make a great FB.
  4. He should develop to be an ok player but he is not suited to a KP role and was taken far too early in his draft.
  5. Dunn in our top 10? *snigger* LOL, we're screwed, LOL Oh man, eveytime I think about it I laugh
  6. Yeah, I agree. The hawks built up a huge supporter base during their dominant years, which was mostly dormant until we sparked them into action /sigh Brisbane was struggling until their success as well.
  7. Yeah, I agree rpfc. To add weight to your argument we lack elite talent with our list and grabbing a Rich or Naitanui at the end of the year would definitely be a benefit. Now people are complaining about playing the guys like Garland and Weetra but I don't mind too much, it's obvious we aren't going to play finals this year and it's also obvious that the majority of our senior just aren't up to it.
  8. Yes, very little
  9. When was the last time our club did something the right way?
  10. Fcuk me, I didn't expect this to occur so soon
  11. Well I'm convinced, after watching today's game we clearly have the most talented list in the AFL, in fact I'm amazed how anyone could possibly even consider that any other club has a better drafting record.
  12. Szondy was hand picked by Gutnick, in fact the entire board was, which was amazing because after just a short time they were unable to work with him. Also, the money didn't come out of his back pocket, it was from his business. Nothing like rewriting history
  13. I'm glad the merger didn't take place because I love our club however there has not been one thing that has transpired that has convinced me that Tiger was wrong, the only thing he didn't foresee was the CBF. Everything else he predicted has come true.
  14. And yet you specifically choose that post to respond to and not my other one where I debated the topic. Don't hide behind your superiorty complex, it's obvious you enjoy belittling other posters far more than debating opinions.
  15. No H, you get real. Personally I think the topic deserves more debate but what the [censored] is the point if the OP asks a question and provides all the answers as well?
  16. It's a topic that will continue to be argued and debated over the next half a decade as we have to completely rebuild the list That's not the whole story though, over the last 6 or 7 years the best that we've done is just above middle of the road - not good enough IF....yeah and if my aunt had balls then she'd be my uncle. The fact is that both Bartram and Dunn have showed promise but havn't proved themselves yet, Dunn moreso. Us demon fans have a habit of overrating our players. Yep, I've done that and posted my results on this forum, it's not as great as we think it is, particularly in the early rounds. *cough* [censored] *cough* Sure we made a grand final, and got absolutely belted, record loss - yeah something to be proud of <_< In this competition half of the competition gets to play finals, half! That means that average, middle of the road teams get a shot, and that description fits our club snugly over the last decade. How many finals do you think we've won since 2000? We have won just 2 finals since 2000, and oen of them was against a limping, injury decimated Saints in 06. Prior to that you have to go back to 2002 against the kangaroos. 2 wins and 4 losses, how could anyone be satisfied with that record? Oh yeah, Melbourne supporters The Kangaroos built a championship team training on a paddock with portable rooms as their club rooms. It's an excuse for failure, nothing more. Our recruiting is not ok, it's just average, at best. We've had a couple of decent late picks but go back and look at our record in drafting KPP's and rucks. Average, just like the rest of the club, or more accurately, soft as butter.
  17. Don't be a [censored] H
  18. I see alot of people saying that we have done so well in the draft over the last ten years, but if this is really the case then how the f*** do we find ourselves in the position that we're currently in?
  19. Very true, but in most sporting teams across the planet the leaders are the guys who lead by example and don't get dropped because they are leaders on and off the ground. I don't understand why we don't fall into the category.
  20. He's a quality kid who can win the ball but he seems to be one paced just like the rest our of midfield.
  21. How do you feel about Grimes?
  22. Jarka

    Garland

We don't really have a choice but to give these guys a decent shot because the majority of the senior list are not up to it.
  23. So Yze has been dropped, fair enough, but what's been lost in all this is the fact that he is meant to be one of our on field leaders. I have no idea of how often this happens with other clubs but my guess is it wouldn't be that often. My query to the coaching staff - does this mean that the decision to make Yze a leader has already been proven wrong after just one round? Not that it's a ground breaking thought, we were all surprised with it, but jeez, it must be disappointing for Bailey to have to do this so early in the season. The sooner we get rid of the old guard and develop a new and fresh team the better.
  24. FFS, height alone does not dictate whether a player is capable of playign a key position, look at Kepler Bradley and Dermot Brereton.
  25. Sadly the kid isn't a true KPP, he's more of a rebounding flanker and Nathan Brown highlights how crap our KP drafting has been over the last 10 years.
