  1. Dunn's decision making and disposal is still an issue although he is a much improved player. I think he'll struggle to hold his spot once some of the young KPP's develop ie Watts, Fitzpatrick, Gawn.
  2. Sheedy is an old senile fool who is desperate for attention. Remember this is the imbecile who stated that Richmond were capable of winnign a premiership last year, and look how that turned out.
  3. It was on the improve towards the end of last year. This year he's had alot more support in the middle as well, gives him more time.
  4. Old, irrelevant and desperate for attention. During his last couple of years at Essendon his players often took to the ground not knowing what the game plan was, the guy is past his 'used by date'.
  5. Yeah, all good, wasn't sure if you remembered that's all
  6. The TJ trade was done while Matthews was coach of Brisbane.
  7. My heart says Scully but in reality we have a plethora of options. Any one of Grimes, Watts, Morton, Scully or Trengove could be elite, we really are in a great position. Something about Trengove though really stands out, this kid is going to be an absolute star. But disregard Watts, Scully, Grimes etc at your peril.
  8. I heard somewhere that he's leading the 'Hit outs to advantage' stat. Bloody great effort
  9. Hawthorn are a good example of how much of a positive effect of having 4 or 5 elite players can have on the rest of the team. Mitchell, Hodge, Bateman, Roughead & Franklin. Swap them with McDonald, Moloney, Davey, Miller & Newton and then see how each team performs.
  10. I still think that McKenzie will provide 'support' to the four horsemen (man, that brings back memories, mostly poor). I think either Blease or Gysberts will take the final place. Still, having McKenzie around is great for the club.
  11. Correct, and Adelaide threw a heap of cash to entice him over. I believe he was looked over in the November draft as he didn't really stand out in any one area, of course clearly his determination and attitude make up for it. For us to eb successful we need a couple more McKenzie 'types' to support our talent in Scully, Trengove & Grimes. You have to hand it to the FD for putting together such an exciting list
  12. Yeah, some of our players made some mistakes ie Bennell, Scully, Frawley, Bate etc but they were trying to take the game on. I'd much prefer these sorts of mistakes then not going for it at all. It was an important game yesterday because they proved to themselves that they can compete with the best of the competition. We're not going to play like that all season but it was great to see them compete. I am so bloody excited about our future considering the talent that still to play in that team. Almost forgot, Brad Green, you bloody beauty.
  13. Keenan is an idiot. That's the nicest thing I can say about him
  14. Extremely excited about the future but sad about our current midfield. I'm confident that Trengove, Scully and Grimes will form the nucleus of a great midfield which will be supported by Blease, Morton, Gysberts, Tapscott and McKenzie.
  15. This is hardly ground breaking news, but I gues it needs to be said anyway. He's already shown enough to demonstrate that by the end of the year he and Trengove will be our two best midfielders. Pretty sad actually
  16. Spot on H Good to see you break your self imposed exile
  17. Martin is a terrible forward, he has no idea where to run to or when to time his leads and his kicking is atrocious. So I agree that he should replace Miller as our key forward.
  18. There are so many threads about Miller because over the last five seasons he hasn't improved from being an honest, average battler. In fact, if anything he's gone backwards. It's just sad that we don't have anyone to replace him.
  19. Actually, that discussion was exactly about the topic. Regardless, Joel MacDonald has been unfairly treated in this thread, he's a better player than some of the posts have suggested.
  20. As much as I hoped that CJ would become even half as good as his old man the reality is that he isn't. While he can kick very accurately at training once he crosses the white line he's like a deer staring at the oncoming headlights of a freigth train. CJ just isn't up to AFL level. Interesting that this was 'Grimes is great's' first post.
  21. Yes, it does matter. If Frawley's contract doesn't finish untill 2011 the the GC team can't sign him. Johnstone was a completely different case as Melbourne wanted to trade him.
  22. I'm really dissappointed witht he result from the weekend, no devastated is probably more accurate because I honestly believed that they were capable of competing. But now is not the time to start calling for a new coach, it's just the first game of a long season. The problems with the team which were exposed are nothing new, it's our mid aged players that are not up to it. This isn't something that's going to take a couple of years to fix, we have to be honest with where we're at. I'm realistic to understand that we're still going to be in the bottom two this year, but one thing that I expect fromt he team is gradual improvement throughout the season. If that doesn't happen that my opinion on whether we need a new coach will change.
  23. The one and only thing that Newton done at AFL level was to take mark of the year. OR Miller has a beautiful wife I know it's a tough decision and both points have their positives, I'm just glad don't have to make it.
  24. Apart from getting more info about Gysberts those two bits of info are as much as I'd hope for.
  25. Everything is relative. Right now my 99 y/o grandmother looks relatively good compared to our current forwardline.
