  1. Twitter, appreciate a response from him on the matter as well, I can only just imagine how much crap they have to put up with on this issue.
  2. What has Cam Schwab have to say on the matter? Just another ridiculous rumour. Add it to the list Sums it up really. This rumour really stinks because it's directed specificly at Jimmy.
  3. Love the bloke but it wouldn't be the first time he's been wrong. TS hasn't signed a contract yet, no idea what will happen at the end of the year but he is not gone as of now. I kick myself everytime I open this thread
  4. Theo x is full of it, Scully can't sign up until the end of the season. HoA, yes, but he can change his mind. Why are there so many people on this site who are desperate to believe that he's going?
  5. Also need to remember that these games are shorter quarters as well.
  6. The movie was only done after the fans outrage of the show's sacking, the producers were basically forced into going back and finishing the story. The series had everything a Sci Fi fan could ask for, the last episode was brilliant and I was devastated that it didn't even last the first series. I'm amazed how a show of that quality gets axed will others like Farscape go on for series after series. /sigh Back to topic, there's been a lot of discussion about the fact that Tom has already signed. I want to stop that crap for good, have no idea what he will do or if he has signed a HoA but he definitely has not signed. My source you ask? The AFL, have a look at he rules... Team GWS to have capacity to sign up to 16 uncontracted players. Maximum of one player from other AFL clubs, unless a club agrees to trade more than one player to Team GWS. If the club does not sign 16 uncontracted players after the 2011 season, it can sign the balance of up to 16 players at the end of the 2012 season. http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/86738/default.aspx GWS can't sign up players until their current contract finishes, that's the rules set by the AFL. As you were
  7. That's a pretty reliable source!! I agree, we trust what Tom's saying and have faith in the club to get the right deal on the table to enable him to sign. The one thing that has impressed me through this entire episode is how well the club has handled it. Every response to q question from the media has been in such a way to try to take the pressure off TS and let him concentrate on his footy Thanks for sharing the info, appreciated
  8. Thanks billy, my advice is to not name your source unless they don't mind. You want to protect him/her so the info keeps coming! Did your source say what he wanted to do?
  9. Curry, I feel your pain, and I'm sure everyone else feels the same because we all want the same thing, a premiership, and Scully appears to be a crucial component to achieve that. My old man once gave me some advice, 'don't stress over things that you have no control over', which was great advice and I find myself constantly thinking those words when I realise the stress levels are getting too high. You have every right to worry and every right to voice your opinion, but I see this new rumour as being comforting, if it's false then nothing has changed, if it's true then Scully wants to stay. That's great news, and thanks to our legal eagles we know that the Heads of Agreement isn't a binding contract. At worst it's just another rumour, at best it's the best news we could possible hear. Having said that I'll probably still worry until he signs, and sadly it will continue until after the season finishes.
  10. Smith was born in Feb 1990, too old?
  11. We are a completely different club now, both on the ground and off. Don't underestimate howhaving a personality like Stynes in charge can open doors that would be normally locked tight. Stynes' background through 'Reach' is all about getting into the pockets of the rich and wealthy, he is the most ideal person to be in charge for this period with the two new clubs comin gin trying to poach players.
  12. Howe isn't just a marking forward, his 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc efforts are extremely good, I've been hanging out to see this kid play and he was worth the wait. Petterd, Dunn and Bate will be feeling a bit nervous after seeing his game I reckon...
  13. I try hard to not sledge other posters but threads like this make it really hard... Scully and Blease are great mates, I also understand that he's got strong friendships with Gysberts and Watts as well.
  14. Frawley missed the first game and wasn't 100% when he first game back.
  15. You don't win by 90+ points playing crap football. Yes we were very ordinary in some of the games, like parts of the Hawthorn game, but in others we were very good.
  16. Yeah I completely agree, it's far more complicated than my throwaway 2 liner which I posted earlier. I'm at work and just visiting demonland inbetween work stuff and calls. The reality is that the subject would take pages and pages if studied properly. It's not just what happens with the kids on the field which makes a great club, it's abotu everything that goes on. Things like how Junior was treated last year or how Moloney responded to his 'punishment' can have a big impact on a playing list. At the start of the year I was really concerned about Watts, but fast forward 4 weeks and now I'm wondering what the fuss was about, the kid is going to be a star. Your assessment is spot on btw.
  17. I welcome the rise in expectations and I think it's great that the media is putting the spot light on us, we need to become a lot tougher and deal with these issues. The club is learning and developing in many areas, but I'm still confident that we're heading in the right direction. I really should know the difference between through and throw... /sigh
  18. Actually, winning or losing becomes irrelevant, developing for the future is the key. Having said that I [censored] hate losing and I through a girly tantrum everytime we do, but the reality is that with a young team decimated by injuries we're not at our best.
  19. Honest question. How many people actually expected us to make the finals this year? I was hoping but it if we did make them it was a bonus. This year was always going to be another developing year, I know a lot of you are sick of it but it's a reality of the situation. This year we had to get more game time into our kids ie Scully, Trengove, Gysberts, Watts, Tapscott, Maric, Bennell etc It is extremely difficult and rare to make finals with such a young and inexperienced team. Unfortunately this has been made even more difficult by injuries to key players ie Jamar, Grimes, Scully, Fawley etc, although those injuries have allowed us to play kids like Evans and now Nicholson which has enabled us to get more of an idea of where they're at.
  20. Newton and Bate are concerns, for different reasons. Not sure on how Blease is going with his rehab, I know that they're carefully managing his workload but I'd love to see him get a game

    "Get Jamar"

He's staying, but let's play a game of 'hypothetical' and pretend that Melbourne does trade him to Port. What would you think would be fair? I'd start the bidding at Jackson Trengove and their 1st round pick. Of course we'd be completely screwed for awhile without a decent ruckman on our list but that would be bloody nice compensation.
  22. The most significant thing that I've noticed about the 'Scully' saga is the way the media are now reporting it. At the start of the year after Eddie made those comments they were all saying that he was 'signed, sealed and delevered' to GWS, now whenever he gets a mention they almost always state that he's 'most likely' will stay at Melbourne. The media get a lot of inside word about what happens at clubs, many of them don't go to print for various reasons, but something significant has occured behind the scene for the complete turn around of opinion. If he had already signed they would know, very much like last year with several high profile players, but the opposite is happening. This suggests that he will stay, but I have to admit that I was concerned up until about a month ago. Now I can sit back and enjoy his comeback from injury without fretting and handwringing for the rest of the year!!
  23. The most interesting thing about that article is how the media have continued to jump on the 'Scully will sign with Melbourne' bandwagon.
  24. Aaron Hamill
  25. I meant when he was added onto the main list this year ie upgraded rookie
