I am a firm believer that we have overrated our list during the last three years, and our recruiting has not been as good as alot of our fans thinks it is.

First pick in the pre-season draft this year could be just as important as first pick in the November draft, there are still a couple of key players who haven't extended their contracts....

True, but (hopefully) there are going to be about eight delisted from our list at the end of the year, and as the draft is not really that deep then I'd prefer him on our list rather than a kid who will most likelt get delisted after two years anyway.

I agree, his best footy is well and truly behind him (which gets bigger every year...). Hayes is a risk, no one could argue that, but if the risk pays off then the rewards will be very, very good, he's a pretty cheap risk though compared to what we gave up for Pickett (and paid)

Any sane person would agree that delisting alot of the older players who aren't in our best 22 is the best thing for the club, regardless of any rebuilding.

I don't think he just wandered off, I believe the club gave him time to sort of some personal issues that he's been dealing with over the last couple of years. He has actually shown that he does have talent, he just needs time to develop and get consistent, I think he's worth an extra couple of years because he has alot of potential. Is it a common opinion these days that players are expected to perform in their first year or they're considered crap?

It may just be a case of as the season has gone on our performances have gotten worse and worse which is obviously goign to affect crowd numbers, it would be difficult to predict these things early in the season.

Henderson is likely to be a top 5 pick, alot of people believe he is the best true KPP in this draft. Would love to have him though, if we somehow got him and Cotchin I'll wet my pants with delight (well perhaps not but i'll be bloody happy)

I agree with alot of your points but I don't agree that we are 'playing the kids'. Some examples are Brown, Ward, Holland, Ferguson, Pickett and Godfrey. All of these guys probably shouldn't be on the list next year, I also doubt very much whether they'd be able to get onto any other list either, we could be playing CJ, Bode, Dunn, Garland and Neaves instead to try and prepare for next year. PJ should also be given as much game time as possible.

Grats on your first post! Don't agree with you on this bwell, I'm pretty sure that the club did try to land some deals but just because none stuck doesn't mean we failed. I'd prefer to have no deals and keep our low picks rather than to complete a 'panic' trade at the last hour. I still believe that building a team through draft picks is the way to go forward, with the odd trade to compliment the team. My trade list are: J.White R.Robertson C.Bruce T.Johnstone I wouldn't trade all of them though and I would only accept one if we were to benefit from the deal ie it would have to be pretty good. You need to offer quality to get quality.

Caro is right, the club is in trouble, we are very vulnerable right now.

Who out of these players does everyone want on our list next year? Neaves is a definite imo, he is only just behind Jamar and PJ but is much younger. Hayes has shown enough to get his second year on the rookie list, next year hopefully he'll get some time with the seniors. Same for Weetra I have major doubts about Neville unfortunately, he looks to have shown a little, has he had many injuries? Hughes I don't think deserves promotion at the end of the year

There is no proof that EPO exists in the AFL, and Braun's reputation has been soiled because of one person's accusation which has no evidence to back it up. Not a great situation for the AFL The EPO issue is a tricky one, my understanding is that the current way we test players makes it unlikely that anyone will be caught while using it, but it's expensive to do the more accurate tests.

My concerns with Davey are his apparent inability to play well in finals pressure footy and his undisciplined actions. If we can get something great for him then I say go for it (it would have to be pretty good though)

Perhaps, but he would only attract a late round pick, tryint to use him to snare someone like Ryan Murphy is unrealistic
