TRAINING: Saturday 12th July 2025
The named 23 plus Tom Campbell all in attendance today, other than Steven May. TMac (although named for Casey yesterday) was present also. So it is likely TMac will be in for May, unless they are waiting to see how May presents tomorrow? Perhaps we are fortunate Larkey is not playing - TMac a pretty good match up for Darling. The other notable absentee was the Ghostwriter. Hope all is good with you Ghosty!

Time to go Goody?
Not you - Titan Uranus. Gee, that doesn't read well.....🙃

Farewell Judd McVee
Goody sounded pretty confident in his presser that the deal will get done - I guess we should expect no other response to the question he got...saying "we knew Judd would take time before re-signing".

Time to go Goody?
Appreciate that, but 1 in 14 sounds a lot worse than 2 in 15. I guess that was the point....

Time to go Goody?
You're not counting 2011?

CASEY: Rd 16 vs Werribee
Howes and Henderson selected for Casey from the AFL emergencies, but not Campbell. Maybe Max sore, or ill?

The DeeBrief boys having a very Honest Deep Dive
That touches on the most interesting thing about this edition for me. Adrian, who runs the pod, normally "toes the party line" which no doubt assists with access to Club officers and employees. They have reached an anti-Simon view and he was happy for that to be aired.....

It’s over - if you’re CEO, what’s the fix?
From last year's Annual Report: "An external governance review has provided clear recommendations for the future, including the establishment of a High-Performance Committee and a Member Engagement Committee. These initiatives will strengthen our leadership......"

PREGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
Gates 3,4 or 5 - sometimes Gate 4 is not open for the "smaller" games.....
- What a relief, we WERE officially robbed

Farewell Judd McVee
2 goals and 8 Coaches' votes! Nice tagging JJ.

Time to go Goody?
LDU and Wardlaw are out. Larkey, Darling, McDonald and Parker are all "tests".

Today it was Viney!

TRAINING: Tuesday 8th July 2025
I've heard a rumour the Club has asked whether we can train at AAMI so that we can use a rectangular pitch, with proper goals and all...🙂

TRAINING: Tuesday 8th July 2025
Cold and windy, but soccer was still the go - the boys loved it and the Captain and Vice Captain combined for the winning goal! Quite a few absentees today: May, Lever, Spargo, Turner, Melksham, Langford, Lindsay, Howes, Campbell,Fullarton, Petty, Pickett and Henderson. Hore (out for the year) and MacAdam also absent, but AMW was present for a short period. Goal-kicking practice again and Trac, as usual, was last from the field - certainly trying hard that boy.

POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide
It would be interesting to get the stat of the scoring for the period Max was off the ground - I sense it was meaningful, given the minutes involved - although Max lost the hit-outs on the day......might frame this argument well.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Adelaide
I am told to ignore how the team is selected, but I am hoping to see (as named) Langdon and Lindsay on the wings today and Viney forward, with Langford going through the midfield - looks like Sparrow might also go through the middle (because of the Viney move). Great day for footy in Adelaide. Apparently we have beaten this lot 5 of the last 6 times we have played them here. Go Dees!

AFL Draft 2025: AFL Under 18 Championships
Surely Nibbins-Hargreaves has to play for us? The new hyphenated replacement for "Nibbler".

The Roan Steele Thread
I regard Roan as a very similar player to Henderson, and we went in the Henderson direction. Pretty amazing that Roan is already in the Pies' side. I guess time will tell on this one?

Welcome to Demonland: Oscar Berry
We actually watched him doing a few run-throughs and simple skills drills down at Gosch's a few weeks ago - we actually thought he was an Irish prospect. He was very athletic and has quite a stocky build for a basketballer. We are starting glass half-full, unusual for DL I know, but you heard it here first....Go Oscar!

Yes - two hamstring injuries if I recall correctly....
