Oliver Trade Rumours
Didn't he say Clayton will be in the mid-field with Max, Jack and Trac at the first bounce Round 1 - we might be playing Geelong? BTW, I take it from the Pres's speech we are not playing Round Zero next year?

Kate Hore - 5 Stars
Great team effort, and great coaching - we can now sneak into the finals at a time when the cavalry returns - Pearce, Purcell, Mackin, et al....Go Dees!

Open Letter to the MFC
Well better to ask the question in early October, than wait until you get the whitewashed report later in the month.....well done Ricky! Remember, in September there was no external review happening at all (recall Kate's answer to the question in the famous interview?) - it suddenly got turned into an external one by enlisting Darren Shand and an unnamed external, independent expert to review the Board. Nice way to put the badge on it. Fantastic!

Open Letter to the MFC
Don't worry Ricky, Drysdale Demon is into all sorts of weird conspiracy theories. You can say you are Ricky Dunn, confirm you wrote the letter, do a DNA test and send him photos and he will still believe you were on the grassy knoll. Suggest you do what most of us do on this forum and just skip over his posts.

Open Letter to the MFC
Because he would have got this response: "Thanks for your email. I appreciate you taking the time to reach out and thank you for your passion and loyalty to the red and blue. The Board and I often receive feedback, ideas, and communication from a wide variety of supporter groups, and value the thoughts and opinions of all our members. We engage with these groups, including Deemocracy, often and will continue to do so to ensure our membership base feels heard and valued. External experts have been engaged as part of both the Board and Football Department reviews. As previously communicated, the ambition of both review processes is to strive for excellence and to ensure, that as our game demands, we evolve to achieve sustained success. The reviews of both the AFL program and the Board will be completed in October and the priorities identified will be communicated to members. Thanks for your continued support of the club and I look forward to seeing you at the footy. Thanks Brad"

Open Letter to the MFC
But his main point is that the reviews being done at the MFC are not truly external and independent. Are you happy with the make up of the teams doing the reviews? You say it was a dumb way to do it - what should he have done?

And Barrett's agenda is to get rid of Pert?

Katrina, and you have posted on this thread because you don't agree with Ricky Dunn's open letter?

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
Stephen Drill HeraldSun re the MRC (who could it be?): The MRC has also been looking for a new chief executive after Josh Blanksby stepped down. A high profile AFL figure has been linked to the role.

MFC 2024 BEST & FAIREST NIGHT
Our COO has been there for a hundred years - no immediate problem if the CEO has to toddle off.

Trade Targets
But Petracca, Oliver and Pickett weren't for trading, were they? So a successful trade period is convincing our best players on long term contracts to not go anywhere else? I guess "considering recent events" is the key expression here.

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
And how did that go? It would be interesting to know what the "spin" was.

Oliver Trade Rumours
Who would know whether Melbourne want Oliver or not? They don’t seem to know themselves. From Peter Ryan's article in The Age. Fantastic summary of our position.

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
I think you will find F&T that the Federal Court legal action was taken in part because Pert told him, immediately after the Club lost the Supreme Court case against him, that the Club wasn't going to accept any further donations from him (or to allow him to continue to sponsor Kade Chandler). Another great call by the CEO.

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
So you have his number but haven't spoken to him DD? Very courageous of you. You trying to avoid the spin or the truth?

MFC 2024 BEST & FAIREST NIGHT
Without jumping to any other conclusions, Ben stated that he was particularly attracted to the strong culture of our AFLW team. I can testify to that, and it no doubt that stems from the continuity provided by Mick Stinear (who Ben praised) and the list management of Todd Paterson - both having been in their roles from the foundation of our women's team.

Time to go Gary Pert
Pert was not listed on the program in the same way as Brad Green was specifically listed to do the President's Address. Nor was Kate Roffey listed, but she spoke immediately after Brad. Pert was then introduced to handle the Retiree and Life Memberships Presentations. There was not a CEO's address as such.

He pronounced it "Pea Tracker" rather than "Pea Trarker". Tricky with the nickname Trac.

"Muted" would be the word I would use. Unfortunately he then said Ben Brown had worn the No. 38. Oops.

Time to go Gary Pert
There was no intention in my original post of crusading FFD. You mentioned the Board has "voted". If indeed it came to a vote I would be interested to know when that vote took place and who made it? It's a pretty big decision - right? Kate departed on 6 Sep and Janette left on 30 Sep (replaced by Angela). So we now have a Board of 7 at a time when the Board is itself, being reviewed externally. Critical decisions and complex timing. If this review is happening in October will the review examine the decision you say has just been voted on by the Board? Any light you may be able to shed would be appreciated.

MFC 2024 BEST & FAIREST NIGHT
I was thinking about those numbers. Jack polled 407 votes - four judges, 23 games, average score 4.42. Max 405 votes, 21 games, average score 4.82. if I have this correct the judges are quite tough?
