Kee Dee...best post I have read for ages, and I read a dozen times a day. The best thing that could happen now that we are getting key players back is to return to a game plan that suits the 'G'... Yep, last year's method, if our players can remember it. I agree with the analysis about lack of muscle but it looks worse when the endeavour is low. Our previous two games were good. I don't think we have lost all grunt. Players such as Neitz, Jones, Sylvia, Bate, Johnson, Bell, Robbo (expect return), Wheels & Rivers (hopeful of return) are quite capable of delivering in the muscle department.

Ferguson is a better footballer than Holland and Warnock. He has suffered through injury at important times in his career. He is perceived as being too slow for AFL football. He has also been extremely effective on occasions, is as courageous as they come, knows how to spoil from sometimes impossible positions and gives his all. I'm happy to see him given a go in place of the only bloke who should keep him out of this team.

It's a beautiful thing! Jonesy can't be too far away (actually preferred his game to Rick's on Sunday).

When is the last time we promoted anyone who had kicked 12 goals against anybody? When is the last time we had the opportunity to promote someone who had recently kicked 6 goals for our affiliate/seconds side?

Bel has improved. Bell costs us goals. Bell's sideways movement inevitibly leads to problems. Bell needs to go back to Sandy when a few others are ready for a go in the 1's. Bell supporters need to do some open-minded video analysis. Bell dithers when under pressure. Bell lacks the defensive nouse of Rivers, Whelan, Carroll, Petterd and Frawley

Learn how to kick Bate for christ sake. The worst kick I have ever seen. Neitz said he might play this week if not this week the next. I think that if he is only 50% he will play due to the prediciment were in.

Jolly was not left to rot in the VFL. When he was given the second ruck opportunity (which he pretty well still has) he got himself injured against the Bulldogs (when Darcy made him look a bit of a dill). I seem to recall on another occasion he got himself suspended. I don't think he had a lot of games at Sandy, but I am open to correction on that score.

White's tap work was better on Sunday. For the first time he worked out a method of getting above Sandilands (no mean feat!) at the centre bounces. It is his play around the ground that is below par highlighted by the give away goal v Cats and that rediculous kick back 40 metres out of bounds yesterday (that is the single most rediculous play I have seen at MFC). He holds on to the ball for too long when going to kick and when he kicks quickly it is often turned over. Part of this is a confidence issue. However, I do see signs of improvement. If we had a ready replacement I would approve a stint at Sandy... but... Neaves must now be given consideration

My memory of the incident you refer to has Seekers getting away Scott free.

Brentnall...you have more no how than I have ever seen in a mere mortal in all my years as a no all!
-
Occo you really are a [censored]. Moloney had OP at Geelong, no... even before the Cats. I'm tiring of your rants against our great and proud club!

Having Macka and Bruce so low indicates you have not watched the game closely. Macka had a lot of centre clearances and was high on tackles... Since when does 30 possessions equate to a mark of 1? You may be interested to know that Godfrey was second to Jones on goal assists. Yeah, statistics blah blah... but on a bad day these are indicators of effort!

Carroll went to Mooney at the beginning of the game and immediately got into him physically (as he does evey week). Mooney was well contained early on. Then we moved Carroll onto Hawkins who was just too tall for Carroll. I would have persisted with Fergy, Holland, PJ on Hawkins (in that order). I feel that ND made a blunder in taking Carroll off Mooney.

Are you on the juice or marking out of 20 or higher?

Whelan - tough but erratic Carroll - leave on Mooney Ferguson - best for Hawkins Ward - gave his best Wheatley - gradually into form Bell - showed us heaps Johnstone - improved his workrate McDonald - best at clearances Moloney - provided some drive Miller - provided a contest Green - FF best position Davey - didn't give up Jones - a shining light Jamar - some good hitouts Holland - tried to compete White - in comfort zone Godfrey - kept on coming Bate - Sandy stint beckons Bruce - almost our best Brown - gets the ball Johnson - full on effort Yze - more than previously

I give us a chance! Geelong continue to be over-rated. The likes of Holland and Fergy have held key forwards before now and they can do it again. Green can kick 3 or 4 at FF, Miller 1 or 2 at CHF, Johnstone, Moloney and Bruce step up in the mid-field... Davey is the wild-card... Whelan and Bell play blinders... Yep, all is not lost!
