They are the same posters that beleive hunt is worth what he was drafted at... a 3rd round pick... they were just stirring the pot as they are bitter their team is collapsing before their eyes, itll be worste when O'meara doesnt get on the park then they will be really sour. Most beleive a third round pick is about right...

I only just saw tippett is also a possibility? What will our cap be looking like? I cant imagine lewis & Hibberd being on a huge amount, I'm assuming brissy would have to pay a portion of rockliffs contract if he is on the amount he is rumoured to be on.. I'm assuming Dawes and Grimes leaving would free up some cap room (who knows what type of contract crazy neeld signed those boys on) but surely we would be getting close to max if we go for Tippett on top of Lewis, Rockliff and Hibberd

I agree.. if we continue to focus on the draft we will just become a feeder club of talent. We need a more even spread of age.

You are right that is not possible... but the rumor posted is our 2017 first round, our 2016 second round (pick 29) and Dunn for Rockliff and 19 and a pick in the mid 30s that brisbane have not yet acquired. To me i think that the AFL might step in and not allow brissy to trade their compo pick (19) so we might very well end up with their second round which is pick 21 which we could ontrade to the bummers for Hibberd (possibly somthing coming back our way but I wouldnt be too fussed if we don't) or best case we manage to get Hibberd for our mid 30s pick.. So for us our trade period could look Out 2017 first, pick 29, pick 66 & Dunn In Rockliff, Lewis, Hibberd & pick 21 or mid 30s (depending on the hibberd trade) That looks like an amazing result for us especially if our 2017 pick can be in the teens... and overall looks fair for all teams we trade with. We could then go to the draft with our pick 21 or mid 30s or use it to aquire a tempory ruck forward.

You aren't allowed to trade any other future picks from that same year if you trade your first round pick... So if we traded our future 17 first round we cannot trade our future 17 second round pick this year..

Wow huge news!!! Not sure how we are meant to get hibbard if this plays out.. Id hate for us to trade 19 for him and I doubt the bummers will take our mid 30s pick we get back from brissy. And by trading our 17 first round I dont beleive we can trade our 17 second as well?

My thoughts would be the 2017 second round (plus steak knives) for Hibbard keeping our 2017 first available for selection or trade next year. Edit: so i guess it would compromise our 2017 draft but I dont think it would be the end of the world having a pick between 12-18 then our next pick being in round three with what our list would look like if we can land these players

Lewis is going to be a awesome get I also really want to see us go hard for Rockliff. A midfield consisting of Rockliff, Jones, Viney, Vince, Tyson, Brayshaw, Trac, Lewis, and Oliver (i probably missed a few) is so menacing.. I believe Hunt and Stretch can become our classy quick out side mids. Our midfield would be one of the deepest in the league and I doubt we would lose the contested possessions in many games next year with that line up. The trade I would do would be 2016 second pick plus Vandenberg and Dunn to brisbane for Rockliff and their 4th pick. And my line up would look something like this... FB Jetta tmac hibbard HB Vince Omac Salem C Stretch Jones Hunt HF Kent Watts Trac FF Brayshaw Hogan Garlett F Gawn Lewis Viney B Rockliff Oliver Tyson Melksham

He was asked in the context of do you think pick 26 gets the deal done. And he pretty much said 22-24 is what they would have wanted but given melbournes position with their picks 26 is fair. I tend to agree with you that if there is still something to work out it could be the fact the dees are offering a third and the dons want our 2nd. Nevertheless i think it'll get done early for our pick 26.

Dodoro Essendons list manager said on trade radio that Hibberd for 26 seems like a fair trade. Hopefully it gets done day 1 of trade week

The boys on trade radio think the deal is done for hogan to stay... made no further comments about term of the deal or money and said mahoney is coming up soon on the show (not sure exactly when though)

I only caught glimpses of the first season and IMO this season seemed to have a much better top end tallent pool.. Yes some of the boys on there seemed to be on there to do stupid things and increase ratings but the three finalists all seem pretty decent. Agree regarding dixon and malthouse, can be tricky putting up with them but I think the show is a really cool concept. I would love for us to take a punt on one of the boys as it is effectivly a free hit.

Hi Lads, Not sure how many keep up with the FOX8 show "the recruit" The top three has just been announced and we will find out next week who will win the contract. (Not sure of the specifics of the contract but I'm sure its some sort of rookie contract) The three finalists are.. Matt- Ruck FWD Daniel- Quick Mid or small Foward Jordan- A bit of a swing man but predominantly playing as a key defender. Anyone on here have a preference as to who you would want if we ended up with the recruit? My preference would be Matt as I believe he fills the biggest hole in our list currently as seems to have the biggest ceiling. Cheers GCDee
