  1. A part time job which pays over $100K PA working on the big stage week in week out... I think there are many who would be up for it.... Yes umpires are human, yes they will make mistakes however these guys are highly paid professionals in a nation wide sport where it seems rules and decisions are changed weekly, actually scrap that, between games. They in reality between the three field umpires should be nailing 95%+ of decisions, all be on the same page and have the same understanding of each rule which should be adjudicated exactly the same week in week out. Sadly this is just not the case, the frustration for fans comes when for example a really harsh HTB decision is paid then the exact same umpire in the next passage of play will make a completely opposite call. How could this happen in a nation wide sport? Of course fans will cause uproar and if we don't I think the AFL will continue to just go with the flow and keep on keeping on. We will continue to have head scratching decisions and confused as hell players. Maggots, sorry.... Margetts did everything in his power on the weekend to get his beloved Eagles across the line, there is no denying that.... He made many "mistakes" in that final term and should be held accountable. What that means I am not sure, suspension? WAFL time? no clue.... The first thing that should happen is never have a home state umpiring their own team, IE WCE V MELB should have only NSW, QLD, ADEL umpires. The next thing the AFL should do is make all field umpires Full Time, throughout the week they can work on positioning for best viewing of contests to limit "mistakes", fitness training, and reviewing footage of their daily [censored] ups and learn from these mistakes just like the players do. The end result would be a fair competition, if that is what the AFL wants....
  2. Yeah next two weeks are huge... Probably need to win both given we have the pies shortly after. Should be pretty close the full strength post the bye
  3. Not sure if this has been mentioned in another thread but did anyone hear the WCE players yell out "Melbourne are [censored]" as they were singing the song whilst knowingly getting filmed..? What a fantastic bunch of role models these guys are. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2207848796/permalink/10157996405988797/ Seriously what a bunch of absolute tossers. I would be so embarrassed of our club did that after a win.
  4. They would have found a way...
  5. Honestly need clarity.... The WCE player who got knocked out play stopped immediately , I thought this could only happen once the stretcher is called? When Salem got tunneled in the 4th (another missed free) and hit his head and was on the ground the umps let the play continue... When are they meant to stop the play?
  6. We should have put them away in the third. [censored] maggots ruined yet another game with woeful decisions. Cannot stand we play these floppers every [censored] time in Perth.
  7. That's the game. Well done AFL got the result you were after. 3 votes maggots
  8. I think we know what the AFL wants the results to be... 7-0 frees in the last. 2 blatant missed frees up directly resulting in eagles goals how do you beat them when they have the green maggots on their side?
  9. Holly [censored] could this be more corrupt
  10. Umpires got the [censored] the game here.
  11. Noooo Noo nooo we are playing kissed on the [censored] west coast in Perth there is no chance of that happening!
  12. Yep was one of the few ruckmen which would rough him up and at worst break even
  13. Is it wet? I thought it was just going to be cold... ? I don't know if this helps or hinders us...
  14. He looked NQR at the end of the GC game. Just a feeling
  15. I have a feeling Omac will be a late out. Hence the inclusion of Petty
  16. I wanted to do the numbers on this.... couldn't really be bothered in the end, would truly be a win for the ages.
  17. I wouldn't say a horrible injury list is "fallen" just rotten luck....
  18. I couldn't believe it when I read they are planning on playing him for 60% game time. Pretty much down one rotation from the get go...
  19. Made himself 4 mil and got a flag in a short period of time without needing to play too many games. Thats more than most afl players in 10 year careers. Best of luck to him and his future endeavours hope he can get healthy
  20. Doubt it considering the injury list.
  21. Looks like he is from Channel 10 Perth.
  22. Just seen that Trac and Garlett didn't travel... Sweet mother of god are we actually just fielding the Casey team?
  23. I can see why... take aside the prelim and our last 3 games against them (all in Perth) have been great games where we have really taken it up to them. 2016 - We lost by 6 points however my memory is we absolutely smashed them in all facets of the game just couldn't convert... 2017- TMAC the hero!!! 2018 - I think all of us shed a tear when Dean Kent kicked that goal from 50 in the 4th. For what ever reason no matter where each team placed in the season the past 3 premiership season games over there has been a cracking encounter with us seemingly rising to the occasion. I really hope the boys can rally behind each other, if we grind out a win tomorrow against the odds, given what they did to us in the prelim our season will really kick off. Sounds strange but I'd prefer to be playing WCE over there than Carlton at the G this round. It gives us a chance to play into form in a game where we are not expected to get close.
  24. Classic... Missed that one
