  1. Not sure if there’s an issue with game plan. It’s just our ball skills trying to hit a target going inside 50. They’re terrible.
  2. What was Rampe thinking climbing the goal post? Should have actually been a free kick in the goal square.
  3. I've heard a few of the players refer to "winning critical one-on-ones" or more one-on-ones/contested possessions across the ground. This must be exactly what they are talking about. Although we're great at winning the contested possession at the stoppage, most of our other players aren't very good one-on-one/contested players. Thankfully we improved this over the weekend in the forward line and a bit in the back line.
  4. Fiorini is a huge out for them. Young is also a handy player out I’m not overly worried considering they haven’t beaten us since 2014.
  5. Wagner was petty good against the Hawks. He’s actually been very good I feel since coming back in. AnB is about right I feel. Jay Lockhart is probably keeping him out rather than Viney.
  6. https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/shaun-smith-father-of-joel-slams-melbourne-football-club-fitness-department-on-social-media/news-story/15dbebc4afc8c19ae2668b3c9461c02d Tom Morris also reporting it via Fox Sports. At least it’s not behind a pay wall.
  7. I'd say that it's more so Max isn't up to date with the latest. Lever would be in the rehab group with May, and Misso would obviously be well aware of his current state. Max even kept on saying he got injured in JLT2 not rnd 2 so obviously not obviously not aware of all the history. The tweet above from channel 9 also said he was running laps.
  8. Gawn was on RSN this morning. He stated that Melbourne have a blanket rule of no drinking allowed while in re-hab. He also stated that May is on a long-term injury list and he's not even running? (seems a bit contradictory to Lever's comments but it could just be that Gawn isn't up to date with his injury). Based on this club rule, it doesn't matter who took the photo, Morris' journalistic integrity etc etc. The bottom line is; May broke club rules and he should receive some form of sanction or warning.
  9. I think it’s just really poor form to sink 3-4 pints when you’re off injured and had skin fold issues. It shows a lack of respect to what the rest of the footy club is trying to do.
  10. Purely based on the fact if they don’t lower their eyes and instead bomb it in long, then 4 tall defenders could dominate in the air. Mind you, none of their tall defenders are that much chop, although Collins has revitalised his career after Ross Lyon got rid of him.
  11. Our forward ground ball gets were the best they’ve been against the Hawks with only two genuine talls up there. I think it’s unlikely they’re playing Preuss and Keilty in the same side up forward due to this, however GC has 4 tall defenders (Murdoch, Joyce, Collins and Hombsch) so having Preuss in there as well may work. If they go with that, then I’d say: Ins: Preuss Out: Fritsch
  12. Dogs should be 5 goals up. Just dominating. Why couldn’t we play a Richmond side with their defence in a shambles?
  13. Lewis won’t coach when he retires. He basically works part time at Fox Footy. He’ll go full-time at season’s end and also work at SEN I reckon.
  14. Well according to his presser, Simon Goodwin agrees with me, although acknowledges his importance in structures and communication. If Lever can play that general role, then I can’t see a need for Lewis.
  15. Great win by the club today, but felt Lewis was really poor again. 8 kicks, 5 handballs. 5 turn overs and a disposal efficiency of 54% 1 tackle, 7 pressure acts.
  16. 6. Harmes 5. Oliver 4. Gawn 3. Frost 2. Salem 1. Lockart
  17. I just rewatched that part. It was there but only just. Was bloody borderline.
  18. So wrapt with that win. Should’ve gone to the game in hindsight... Can anyone please explain that second 50m against Harmes? I saw no player run past the Hawks player at all. They didn’t show a replay either.
  19. Apart from that horrible set shot, Petracca has looked dangerous all game. He’s got the yips when the pressure is on. Needs a psychologist for his goal kicking.
  20. Nervous toilet break?
  21. I agree that his job isn’t on the line right now, but no one likes being under unnecessary pressure. Having said that, coaches get sacked all the time mid contract so, it’s not iron clad.
