I’m not too worried about that. Isn’t he still in a moon boot? What’s the point of being out on the track?

You realise he was an Adelaide supporter as a kid? Even I would have worn a freo scarf to that game rather than barrack for Hawthorn.

How did Gawn get no votes against the Saints just then? Absolutely bizarre. -

I honestly wonder if we would have done better in a night game? The heat really took it out of us early. Friday night was the logical time slot for us giving everyone 7 day breaks after the semi-final, but the AFL preferred the TV ratings. -

I think from looking at the team stats, it was simply two things that let us down. 1. Work rate of the midfielders 2. Our spike in deadly turnovers resulting in scores (>10 goals) 1. Eagles took 96 unconstested marks. You can’t tackle a bloke when it’s not in a contest so they kept the ball off us after they won the contested ball. Pies only let them take 69 uncontested marks. Workrate 2. Contested Possesions - 158 to 145. Already been spoken about. Workrate 3. Low tackle numbers (34) - because of the Eagles flicking it around the ground. Most teams get low tackle numbers against the Eagles. But ours was horrendous. Workrate 4. Forward 50 efficiency- 69% vs 43%. No pressure on the ball carrier due to the Eagles uncontested style from the lack of work rate from midfielders. Plus our key defenders got killed. Turnovers plus workrate 5. Lost the clearances (40-32) we’re supposed to be the best at that. Workrate -
Say what you want, I’m proud of this club this year.

I still can’t understand how we lost the contested ball so easily? It’s our bread and butter and we beat them with their same midfield group in rnd 22. Is it just not turning up? Was it the tackle pressure? -

I’ll be quoting that on Twitter when he doesn’t take a mark on Barass next week -
My 3 word player analysis V West Coast

@joeboy Might as well do a season one for each player given it was our last game. -

My optimism for 2019 just went down the toilet. Before this game I thought, no matter the result, we’ve got a huge few years ahead of us. But this result hit me for 6. So many gaps in this playing group. -

That’s light on Frost. Him and Omac were horrible in the first quarter. -
GAMEDAY - Preliminary Final vs Eagles

I feel sorry for all those fans who have travelled to Perth and those at Fed square. an absolute pathetic display. -
Nup, the Pies aren’t that good. They took it up to West Coast but couldn’t get the job done. They almost lost to a Giants team who didn’t show up until the second qtr plus DeGoey put on a masterclass. They played a Richmond team who couldn’t get going at all and Cox played his best game in 10 weeks. If we get through tomorrow, I fancy our chances much more than if the results were reversed tonight.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Preliminary Final

He's got a long career ahead of him and he's part of a football team that is going to have sustained success for years to come. He'll get another chance. -
I like our chances against Collingwood so I’m hoping for a Pies win.

Smith absolutely butchered the ball against Adelaide so as long as he lets Lewis or Salem do the kicking, then I’m ok with this change. -
I'm pretty sure Trident, Redlegs etc were all available for purchase this year, I remember almost selecting one of them but thought it wasn't worth the money... serves me right!

How many Dees faithful will be at the game?
At the break of Gawn replied to Lord Neville X Flash's topic in Melbourne Demons
Can someone explain how this 50% split allocation works for the members of both clubs? Because, I've read now that the game is pretty much sold out. So, I'm wondering if there's only like 2,600 Melbourne members going, when does ticketmaster concede that it's not going to be 50% Melbourne and let the floodgates go for the rest of the eagles members to get tickets to bring the ratio to like 96% eagles 4% Melbourne? -
The one year I get a 3 game membership in like 10 years because I went to Europe for 5 weeks and now shafted to P3. Going to always get a red legs from now on.

That clapping was awesome!

Seems awfully low doesn’t it? Wouldn’t we have maybe 1000 supporters living in Perth alone?

Unfortunately I can’t convince the wife that this is a good way to spend money so I’m saving for a GF ticket (knock on wood) Is anyone looking into chartering a plane? These guys are doing it for Eagles supporters in case they make it. https://thewest.com.au/sport/west-coast-eagles/afl-grand-final-west-coast-eagles-fans-already-booking-seats-on-charter-flight-to-melbourne-ng-b88955411z

David King thinks Eagles will Belt Us.

Great post. A lot of the players (and Goody) lamented our first half in terms of pressure, attack on the ball, tackles and contested possessions. They won’t make the same mistake next week. In a hostile territory, I suspect we’ll be breathing fire at the bounce.
