  1. He was incredibly close GT.. if we had one more pick we would have selected Lockhart. He came back to Casey's day 1 of pre season in absolute elite condition to the point where it was now too good to refuse and he basically selected himself. Dont underestimate how incredibly hard Lockhart has worked over the past 18 months. He is the type of player you want around your footy club in terms of setting the standards on the training track but also culture wise because of how resilient he is.
  2. I think you will be a disappointed man come end of the year if your pinning your hopes on that outcome MB. Yes we need more forward options but just can't see us landing a Ben Brown type. Unfortunately we missed an opportunity with Finlayson when he was shopped around for peanuts last year.
  3. I reckon they will drop Hannan. 7 disposals and 0 tackles as a half forward is not a good look. Wagner or JKH comes in for him. Hannan needs to go back and get his hands on the ball and start providing that manic tackling pressure he is known for.
  4. Lockhart or Stretch?
  5. Agree, Lockhart has already passed him in my eyes. More cleaner around the footy and doesn't fumble at all. I'd rather his mate Billy Stretch in the side then him.
  6. So did I. There are no coincidence that we chased after May and Lever because the club saw that our defence was our weakest point. Even when Oscar was being a regular starter each week. And if we go by the media reports that we are chasing Alex Keath then what else does that explain. Once May and Lever are up and running along with Hore and Frost then Oscar will be playing at Casey. That's football. Some players are simply better then others and thats why Lever May and Frost are all ahead of him.
  7. No he didn't
  8. @stevethemanjordan
  9. Um that was played yesterday mate?
  10. Exactly right. But you are also wrong. Jason ventured down to Tassie on the back of receiving a list of names to go and watch closely. Lockhart was one of them. Taylor and Tim Lamb both went down and watched several games where Lockhart was the clear stand out on that list. What pricked our recruiters ears up was Lockharts BOG performance in the stage game against the NEAFL. Taylor and our recruitment team encouraged him to try his luck on a more high standard at VFL level. Before Tom Couch had signed at Casey Demons at the start of 2018 he pushed Lockharts case really hard to Jade Rawlings as well but also got huge endorsement from Jason Taylor as it was an opportunity to really keep an eye out on a weekly basis. Couch had played with and mentored Lockhart, especially from a fitness point of view. Couch really encouraged and pushed him to give VFL a real go. It was Jason Taylor and his team who first spotted Lockhart.
  11. No. We are a May or Frost injury away from Oscar being back in the side. Otherwise he is depth at Casey.
  12. Kyle Dunkley another good game with 18 disposals 5 tackles and a goal.
  13. Sorry what? Has he done some thing wrong today? Or you just going offstats like you always do.
  14. I have been in the same boat as you mate regarding being a big supporter also. Those blunders are now limiting with each game and experience.
  15. Lewis 8 disposals Dunkley 7 Maynard 5 and Bedford 4. Wagner and JKH quite with 2 disposals for that qtr. KK yet to even register a touch.
  16. Kyle Dunkley with our first goal.
  17. Just saw final team lists and Stretch is not named.
  18. Jason Taylor .. But according to some on here he is a dud recruiter...
  19. Need to sign Frost up asap. Clubs will definitely be enquiring if not already.
  20. I think we can definitely fit in Hore, May, Lever and Frost. Frost is such a different hybrid of a defender. For someone who is 194cm, he has speed of a small running defender and can easily play on the small blokes like Walters. I'd give him first choice on Cameron next week. Lever and Hore are brilliant intercept defenders. Something we haven't had since Jared Rivers. Once May and Lever are up and going Hore plays a floating defender In the same way as what Tom Stewart does down at Geelong.
  21. Agree wholeheartedly. But with Lever to come back in where does that leave Petty? I am a very big supporter of Petty. He shows real glimpse of his attack in the air and plays a bit like Lever with his intercept marking and spoiling. Wonder whether he is worth a shot up forward?
  22. Bigger grounds and quicker standard of footy suits the style of someone like Baker.
  23. Deserves a 1 year contract. As you say, hasn't had continuity at all. When he is on the park he's made an impact.
  24. When I watched him against Collingwood last week in the VFL he was 2 steps above everyone else. His speed and power around the contests were phenomenal. The fact that he is already making a huge impact with NO afl pre season behind is amazing. Has huge upside.
