Mac Andrew
I've heard he's actually been asked by AFL clubs or club to work as a part time recruiter but turned it down as he felt he hadn't yet gotten the necessary experience he needs. As you said, good on him for it, but he's not my cup of tea.

Mac Andrew
Because I think a key forward or another gun outside midfielder is a suitable need for us then a ruckman? That doesn't mean that he still wont go top 10.

Farewell Luke Jackson
He just got a premiership tattoo. As if he's leaving anytime soon.

Mac Andrew
Jesus WJ it's getting a bit tiresome don't you think.. We get it, that you simply don't rate Mac Andrew at all and you'll find all avenues in justifying your argument. Getting sucked in to what Knightmare says is part of the issue. Let me just remind that this is the same bloke that during draft time back in 2013 had compared Christian Salem to Taylor Hunt, had at one stage rated Jake Bowey in the 40's range and openly said that Melbourne had made a mistake picking a ruckman at pick 3. It's actually unbelievable he is far off the mark each year. But it's his opinion and good on him for sticking his head out. While he watches a lot of junior development and does have some good insight at times, he let's himself down with some uneducated opinions. Think it's time to accept that Mac Andrew is most certainly a top 10 pick. There's enough jungle drums beating around the recruiting circles that holds enough weight that he's most certainly going to go in that top 10. He's not the top 10 best player in the land, but he's being picked on potential and scope of improvement as are all kids. Realistically what's stopping Mac Andrew from playing 5-8 games next year? Nothing. He's certainly very capable of it, and his development and growth will go up another level once his in the AFL system. I can see him getting games, mostly up forward with about 30-20% in the ruck. If Melbourne were somehow able to get into the top 10 pick then in my opinion I probably still wouldn't use a pick on him. There's far more greater need and talent that suits our list.

Welcome to Demonland: Taj Woewodin
Yeah not my finest hour there.

Welcome to Demonland: Taj Woewodin
It's potentially looking highly unlikely that he may not get a spot on our list. I'll wait to trade period ends before we can fully get a clear understanding what our list looks like in terms of space. Right now some of the recent re-signings have left me scratching my head.

Welcome to Demonland - Pick 17
No such thing as gentlemen agreement. He'll go top 10. And even if he drifted out to our pick I would hope we don't pick him as he's not what we're after.

Bunch of Dees re-sign
I'm yet to see this so called super speed that he supposedly has. I'm sure he's stoked as hell he's been given another free run on the list but he's as depth as they come. Even when Langdon had to miss against Brisbane with concussion the club preferred James Jordon instead of Baker on the wing. I would have even preferred Declase signed up then Baker. At least he's looked more natural as a wingman. I'd be spewing also if I was Jay Lockhary right now..

Bunch of Dees re-sign
This the feeling I got as well.

Bunch of Dees re-sign
So in all of this where does this leave the likes of Taj Woewodin and Andy Moniz-Wakefield for a spot on our list?

Bunch of Dees re-sign
How many list spots do we have on our list now?

Bunch of Dees re-sign
Perplexed that Baker was re-signed to be honest and not Lockhart. Bloke is trending towards Jake Spencer.

Welcome to Demonland - Pick 17
That grand final was the biggest choke of all time by a team. Geelong had only lost 1 game that year leading into the grand final. Please let that not be us next year..

Welcome to Demonland - Pick 17
I'm a huge wrap for Zac Taylor. There's a bit of Zac Merrett about him. Classy outside mid who racks up the footy with ease. Sam Butle is another as well should be around this range.

Welcome to Demonland - Pick 17
He's come through our Bushies system since school boys days. His under 16 yearr was very impressive also which shot him in recruiters eyes. From Shepparton and was an absolute gun soccer player. To the point where he was with one of the Melbourne development squads and actually had to choose between football and soccer. He's a powerful and strong athlete bit like Petracca with his low gravity strength in being able to brush off opponents. There'll be other names around this pick that will be highly considered. Names like Matthew Roberts, Josh Sinn, Jacob Van Rooyen, Joe Amiss etc. Some serious talent will slep through to our pick.

Welcome to Demonland: Luke Dunstan
I must admit I'm a big wrap for this pick. Not only now but dating back to his draft year in 2013. At the time we had just signed up Paul Roos as coach and I remember he made mentioned that he wanted to bring in some strong contested players through the trade period and draft as he believed that ypu build from the contest out. At our pick 9 my two desired options were Luke Dunstan and Nathan Freeman. I remember watching his under 18's championships for SA and he reminded me so much of Ollie Wines. He was also captain of SA and I thought he was simply the perfect fit for what we desperately needed at the time. Even when he first started at St Kilda there was talk already that he was a future captain in waiting. To see Tim Lamb say, and I quote "cultural fit" into our side excites me even more. He was a contested midfield beast who was already playing senior footy for his SANFL club at the time and he had the body frame to slot straight into our midfield. Come draft night I was deeply disappointed we had overlooked him and Freeman (who I thought was a Luke Shuey clone) and instead chose some kid called Christian Salem. Fast forward 8 years and Christian Salem would now be rated top 5 in that draft and has become one of the games best half backs going around. What amazing humble pie I've eaten over the past few years!! To be honest I don't think Luke Dunstan is coming over here to fill in numbers for Casey. I genuinely think under our strong culture and leadership he could emulate the same pathway as what Jarryd Lyons has at Brisbane. The same criticism of Lyons was exactly what Dunstan is copping now. Slow, can't kick, and has no outside game. Dunstan is a big time accumulator who's had the horrid luck of playing at a club where they've had zero finals success, and a poor losing culture with no leadership. Also taking into account he was playing under a coach who's already been sacked in the AFL system before. Dunstan wants to feel valued like he said in an interview few weeks back and he's coming to a club where our mantra of "Just be us" has made our players being able to express themselves on the footy field and also off field. Simon Goodwin drives this culture alongside Max Gawn extremely hard I can personally see Dunstan thriving amongst this culture. He'll certainly have a chip on his shoulder to prove the doubters wrong.

Welcome to Demonland - Pick 17
Interesting article here. https://amp.theage.com.au/sport/afl/premiers-swoop-pick-swap-puts-melbourne-back-in-draft-20211006-p58xu3.html?__twitter_impression=true The Demons have particular players in mind for pick 17, but believe there is next to no chance that their highly athletic key position next generation academy prospect Mac Andrew will be available at that selection because he will be picked in the top 10 and clubs can no longer match bids for academy players inside the draft’s top 20.

Welcome to Demonland - Pick 17
I already have my eyes set on Josh Rachele from the Murray Bushrangers with this pick Small forward/midfielder with A ton of X factor about him. Think of a Toby Greene/Alan Didak
