  1. Makes complete sense why they refuse to play Brown and Weid alongside each other. Is it too hard to ask for these blokes to at least show some sort of defensive pressure? No wonder teams are rebounding so easily from our back half without breaking a sweat.
  2. Didn't add that part purely because while not ideal, it isn't as bad as the other two.
  3. I don't think WC can trade that pick this year?
  4. https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/horrific-demons-biggest-issue-which-could-ruin-their-season-revealed/news-story/de53a10fd2ff851d0da8edbe50cf25d7 Melbourne’s forward woes have been laid bare, with the revelation the club has three of the worst pressure ranking players in their attack end. The Demons have dropped from third in 2021 to dead last in 2022 in pressure ratings, according to Champion Data. The statistics showed Sam Weideman is ranked worst in the competition for forward pressure with teammate Ben Brown ranked second worst.
  5. My understanding is that so far he's shown to be a high end talent. Still a lot of water to go under the bridge until draft time, but from what one our development coaches told me today (Murray Bushrangers), he played a pretty impressive game yesterday in the ruck and was jumping all over his opponent in the ruck.
  6. To keep everyone updated, Kalani White is currently representing Queensland in the under 15's National AFL Championships here in Lavington. The Queensland team played their first game against Victoria which Kalani played in and had another game against today against ACT. I was hoping to head down to the 1pm game today to watch but couldn't get out of a work meeting. Lavi is only a 10 minute drive from my area so I'm hoping to head down on Wednesday to watch against South Australia in the 10am game.
  7. The ball movement in the first half was probably the best I've seen all year. For some unknown reason we went in preservation mode in the 2nd half and it showed out once again.
  8. Where's Deeluded when you need him..
  9. Being courageous and waiting for the easy ball is two completely different things.
  10. I was dirty on Vines. That was a clear handball over the top which would have allowed Jacko to run in and steady up for a goal.
  11. What does everyone think??
  12. To be honest I don't mind him playing even if the club knew he was going home. The bigger issue is that he's actually out of form and not really having that much of an impact. The club won't drop him due to form but the entire second half he only had 2 disposals. Disposals isn't everything with him but he was one of many who failed to stand up when we needed him too.

This is absolutely spot on, and I hope you don't cop stick for it from the usual rosy glasses suspects. I'm a fan of Goody and have been since day dot. But he's coaching this year has frustrated me more then ever purely with everything you have stated. I was hoping by now we would have seen some tweaks in the game plan after we got exposed through a few of those early losses, but I've seen nothing to suggest otherwise and this what concerns me the most. If we're not willing to tweak the game plan now then we're in big trouble come September. The continued rolling door selections of the likes of Bedford, Weideman and Melksham has really confused me when we've had blokes like Chandler, JVR, Laurie and hell, even Baker who all have been consistent and shown better form then those other guys. I have admired the way Collingwood have gone about even though I hate it at the same time. They're top 4, and have just polished off 9 wins in a row. They've had 5 debutants who have all come in and added new life and enthusiasm into their line-up and play a exciting brand of footy that certainly stacks up with the best. We've had one player debut this year and the club that's used the least amount of players this year. Go figure.
  14. Vandenberg never was/is a match winner.
  15. What a username...
  16. If he's on the list that is..
  17. Jayden Hunt is the clear stand out in terms of versatility as he is able to play back and forward and can even have a run on a wing. James Jordon hobbles around on one leg all and someone like a Hunt could have been subbed on for him. You then move Brayshaw to a wing and Hunt goes back to take his spot in the backline. But no, we use a player that's pigeon holed only for a small forward position.
  18. That's just Goody being stubborn AF and thinking that it'll all naturally play out. Watching games this year has been ridiculously frustrating with how slow they react in the coaching box. The only genuine move I can think of where it was completely out of the box was the Weideman to the backline against Freo and that was because it was forced due to May injury. Collingwood are sitting top 4 and have blooded a number of kids this year which has given their players extra enthusiasm and energy in the same way Bowey did last year. We on the other hand refuse to reward blokes who are actually in form. The biggest and main concern out of all this though is the significant the drop in pressure and defensive output. Like we're really poor for pressure key indicators, in fact I think we're last which is stark different to last year where we were sitting around the too area. Our brand has always been built on defensive pressure and contested footy around the stoppages, but we're just getting smashed far too easily.
  19. Unfortunately Young signed a massive 5 year deal to 2027 to commit to his club, which so happens to be an interstate club. Massive respect there for loyalty unlike some.
  20. I saw Blake Howes had 19 disposals for his first game in months. Can someone give a rundown of his game. I would like to think that's pretty impressive numbers for a young kid who's missed a lot of footy.
  21. The talk at the time coming off a very poor 2019 was that we severely lacked outside players who could deliver the footy and provide outside run as we had a plethora of inside mids but zero outside ball use. Draft experts noted Hayden Young was the absolute perfect fit for our list needs but also was best available after Rowell and Anderson. I know Jackson played some part in our grand final win like 21 other blokes on the night so I'll be appreciate of that. But I've watched Young closely since his AFL debut and then again his BOG performance Friday night and in my honest opinion he'll be a star of the comp. I wasn't entirely sure at the time when at a crucial stage in out development in nailing those early picks in the draft, we reached for a athletic ruckman who was said to need improvement on his contested marking. But the moment we drafted him I threw my full support behind Jacko. Unfortunately hindsight is wonderful but ideally yes when you have an early pick as we did we probably needed to take that safer option.
  22. I don't get it either. Gawn was slaughtering us in the ruck by either trying to grab it or hitting directly to WB player. I feel our midfield stoppage work was better when Jackson is in there because we become less predictable. See Brisbane game when we smashed their midfield apart.
  23. Because its funny trying to watch you weasel your way through this thread making absolute zero sense as always. You made yourself look very silly with my sarcasm comment and tried to dig your way out. "They both won and both lost" when trying to justify a draw.. enough said.
