  1. On top of trying to deal a separate and more complex deal in Jackson, I just think the club will mutually accept the compensation pick and move on quickly to get this Jackson deal. History will tell you that clubs rarely match bids on free agents that leave.
  2. Glad you brought this up. With the exodus about to occur at the Giants they would be pretty nervous with this one especially as he hasn't signed the contract extension that's already been offered to him.
  3. If what the offer is believed to be offered to Jackson then I have no idea how they fit Brayshaw in. It's obvious that Brayshaw after a pay rise. I personally don't think we'll match the offer BTW. We're not known to play hard ball with deals and I think we prefer just to get deals done and move onto the next.
  4. Even Purple is getting in on the act..
  5. He'd be an upgrade on Sparrow.
  6. Agree 'Spirit'.. I've watched a few Vic Country vision and he's the one that's really stood out in terms of the perfect fit for our list. Has vice like grip with his hands and his work rate is exceptional. Not only that, he kicks goals. Of we're able to grab a top 10 pick then I think he'll come under heavy consideration. Matthew Jefferson is another interesting prospect, but he's a bit more skinnier at only 76kg which to me tells me that it's going to a few years until you see the best of him at AFL level. Cadman is already physical ready to go next year imo.
  7. Quiet perplexing really. I was extremely confident last week that Gus was going to play as a midfielder in the place of Oliver when Dunstan was named. Knew that wasn't the case 5 minutes into the game. Unfortunate Goody isn't someone willing to throw the magnets around and that's been evident when we've had the losses. Moments where I thought we could have mixed things up in the midfield by getting Gus in there when we've been smashed in clearances, but nope we stick with the same predictable set up which includes throwing Sparrow in there (who's been bloody average this year).
  8. We're the number 1 side in the competition for using the least amount of players.... We've had one debut player this year in Daniel Turner off the back of having two debutants last year in Bowey and Jordon. Not even sure if this is a good thing or bad thing. I mean, I look at our line up and still scratch my head in why we see fail to address the big concern around our forward line set up.
  9. Well yes and no.. Bedford is uncontracted as it stands and has a right to exercise other options that could benfit his career more then being a bit player coming off as a sub here and there.
  10. Absolutely they would, I know I certainly would. The red and blue rosy glasses has gotten the better of some on here. Same people are the ones praising Jake Lever for accepting for our offer of 3.5 millin dollar to join the dees. At the end of the day he's completely out of contract. He's not doing anything wrong at all and has ever right to assess his options. He's looking at changing employment company ans that's all it is.
  11. What he said ☝️☝️
  12. That was Buckley.
  13. Yep, Cameron Ling is god awful..
  14. Young's just signed a new 4 year deal.
  15. Yep, if I'm Luke I'm absolutely taking that offer and running. Unbelievable deal. For our sake, I agree with @CYB, if you're willing to cough up that amount of ridiculous money and contract then be willing to cough up big for picks.
  16. Well, we'll have the picks for him.. 😉
  17. In comparison to Sam Weideman this year who's played 8 games this year for only 23 marks. If it's true that we're playing Petty up forward then you'd think it's just about lights out for Weideman's time at Melbourne. I've always been a fan of Petty as a forward because he looked just as natural up there as he does down back. I personally didn't think they'd trial it this year especially so late in the season but it certainly can't hurt to try it. With Daniel Turner signed up for 2 years and someone who's rated enormously high, maybe this could be a position switch going into next year with Petty to play up forward and Turner to take his spot down back.
  18. I'm probably one of a few that's not really big on Daisy as a commentator. But in all honesty I'm not big on many commentators in today's game. Personally think the standard and talent has dropped significantly. I'm more interested in her career as a full time coach for Geelong because I think she'll be a ripper! I think it's been magnificent to see her career the way it's panned out from being a pioneer of women's footy to now becoming an assistant coach at an AFL club. Hopefully this now opens the door to more opportunity for women coming through the men's coaching ranks. In terms of commentators I do like Anthony Hudson the most. Some of the games iconic moments captured have also included his commentary which creates good theatre, e.g Jeremy Howe mark in 2012 and the Buddy "Thiirrrteeeen" A left field one who I've really enjoyed over the past couple of years and deserve significant air time is Nigel Carmody. For those that don't know he usually does the AFL women's team and also the VFL on 7. He is seriously underrated in my eye and I would like to see him get promoted to more prime time slots next year while they [censored] off BT and Carey. I know James Brayshaw annoys a lot of people but you have to admit, his Clayton Oliver's "Bang bang bang" commentary will certainly go down as one of the best moments in that grand final. Among others that is..
