Welcome to Demonland Pick 13
PMBangers from Bigfooty who is a pretty keen drafter watcher did an upgraded phantom draft over the weekend. Pick 15 - Melbourne - Matthew Jefferson Oakleigh Chargers | VIC Metro Tall Forward 195 cm 84 kg Snapshot; A low possession but high impact key forward, Jefferson rarely goes a game without impacting the scoreboard. Although he plays closer to goal most of the time he's shown a good capacity as a tall that can push up the ground and help more with link up play. His marking is his biggest strength, even without being super strong as it stands he's a good one-on-one mark and displays solid body work Rationale; They need a young KPF to pair with JVR in the long run, and the styles of the two would compliment each other well. I think with Melbourne's game style a player like Jefferson that can take some ridiculous marks and smart leads will thrive with their ball movement forward and damage in transition where he could get one-on-one inside 50 Considerations; There's interest in Ed Allan and this is probably the first pick of the draft I think the club will actively be trying to trade up with. The next couple of picks in Olli Hotton and Jacob Konstanty might be of interest, as might Lachlan Cowan with Jayden Hunt leaving and other options getting older. Elijah Hewett plays like a Melbourne player as well

We cannot draft again from WA
Natanui was seen as a bit of a flight risk. Bit couple that with our off field mess and horrific culture at the time then absolutely no doubt he would have done a runner once soon enough.

2022 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
He's the one I want with our 2nd pick and have voiced this before. His ability to go into the ruck using his leap is appealing I would think in terms of Goody liking players with versatility. He's a lead up CHF who is a one touch grab and his work rate is what stands out the most. Seriously hoping he's still there and we don't hesitate calling his name out.

Dynamic Ruck Duo Max & Brodie
It's a strange concept to be taking inspiration from a a club that was ranked 18th for ruck combination this year.. Not only that, Blicavs is incredibly versatile that he can play in all range of positions including as a midfielder target as we saw this year, whereas Grundy and Gawn are both pure ruckman. As @Lucifers Hero said, I hope we do have some better ideas floating around.

Reading this confirms that it's just guess work by SEN and not from a credible source.

Outcomes of Season Review
That's an absolute cop out of an excuse. So then what's the point of having fit reserves/depth players right there ready to go if we're not going to bother playing them for injured players? It's utter stupidity and arrogance by Goodwin and glad he got found out for it. Geelong rested and managed their stars throughout the year such as Selwood and Danger and brought in depth players to cover them. The players they brought in to replace obviously weren't up to the calibre but they were solid enough to play a role. Why couldn't do that with Langdon? We arrogantly didn't rest players when the opportunity presented itself against West Coast and North Melbourne. We took Lever and Gawn up to the West Coast game after Gawn had hurt his knee the previous week and Lever rolled an ankle. Again, stupidity to play them when they should have just stayed back in Melbourne and rested. Or playing Salem round 1 with his knee completely bandaged up after coming back from a serious knee injury. Bloke last 5 minutes from a normal style tackle. Goody can't be pulling this [censored] again next year.

Outcomes of Season Review
Hoping Goodwin has a huge mindset change over the summer because arrogantly rolling with the same 22 each week and with the same bland game plan cost us in the end. Us fans could see what was unfolding as the year went on and so did majority of the footy public. Yet, our coaching staff showed not a hint of plan B. Sticking with the same guys each week, who some were badly out of form, sent a complete and utter wrong message to the blokes doing the hard yards at VFL level. Clubs worked us out easily in the 2nd half of the year with our slow ball movement and our consistency of kicking it deep into the pockets. This is what worries me when we make no changes within our assistant coaches. I was a Stafford fan previously but surprised he survived another year. If we're rolling with the same forward entries come round 1 then we aren't winning it in 2023.

Will be interesting to see where he'll be trained up during the pre season group. Midfield group?

2022 Player Reviews: #10 Angus Brayshaw
Lost count how many times he had a knack of just kicking the ball out on the full on so many occasions when he got moved into the midfield. Was infuriating.

Petracca in the Lab
Some footballers are just born to be great and are never satisfied with where their career are at despite his accolades so far. Looks ridiculously fit.

Michael Hibberd & Jake Melksham - 1 Year Extensions
In fairness to Hibberd, he gave Cameron a decent touch up in both home and away games during the year. Unfortunately Hibberd like many others during that Brisbane final, were poor and badly exposed.
