  1. Exactly how it played out when I watched the replay. We barely do any tagging throughout games because Goody backs our midfield to get the job done. Especially now that we're doing a full blown midfield rotation then it's highly unlikely you're going to get someone in there tagging for a significant period. The Viney comment I meant that Harmes got more significant midfield minutes purely because Viney wasn't there considering he even started the game in the centre circle.
  2. Libba had 18 disposals and a goal in the 2nd half with 11 coming in the 3rd quarter. That's not quiet by any standard... Treloar had 16 disposals and a goal in the 2nd half with 11 also coming in the 3rd. Bont was definitely the quite of the two but that had nothing to do with Harmes as there wasn't a hard tag on him. Not sure entirely sure what exactly is 'quiet' in your books, but Treloar and Libba were still going fairly hard in the 2nd half.
  3. Lol he barely had a hard tag on him mate. I watched the full replay this afternoon and followed Bonts movement around stoppages. There were times Harmes stood near bont and that was it. Not even a hard arm across him or anything. If anything Harmes probably spent more time on Libba and Treloar then he actually did on Bont. There was a CLEAR focus that we weren't doing a hard tag on him and it was us simply backing our midfield system over theirs which proved success. Hatmes role was purely to fill in for Viney and provide extra grunt around stoppages. Watch the actual game again.
  4. Watched Liam Henry today. He was certainly very impressive.
  5. Uh oh..It's started. "Jackson sucks, Fyfe is too old, we don't have a forward line, Treacy can't play football and Ethan Hughes is on an AFL list" • "Melbourne must be celebrating today, genuine shot at a top 10 pick all of a sudden" • "Jackson can't mark to save his life." • "Hope Melbourne enjoy our 1st rounder" • "0 marks to Jackson is a bad stat line by itself, but he was out bodied and out read every time the ball went near him in a marking contest. And he added very little more at ground level." • "I don't remember being terrified and lacking confidence being in his draft profile." • "Bullied at clearances despite HO advantage, we looked outsized in there without Mundy. Jackson looked out matched as well." • "I thought Jackson overall was poor. And yet he started so brightly with that neat handball to Freddy for our first goal. But it was summarized by his lazy boneheaded kick around the body shot for goal that missed the lot. And that basically characterized the afternoon.....sigh!"
  6. Fantastic win by the Saints considering the outs they have.
  7. You know what's even more disappointing? The fact that Nathan Jones hasn't even been offered a lap of honour since retirement.
  8. Was going to say, Dee fans were a lot placid compared to what Essendon supporters will dish up if he doesn't perform. On par with Essendon and Carlton fans as the worst in the competition. Hopefully he does for his own sake.
  9. I don't see it either. To be honest he's been underwhelming for me since the 2021 season.
  10. I agree with this wholeheartedly.
  11. How on earth did he get off??
  12. Wonder how Luke Dunstan went?
  13. I'm sure he's a good lad. Though, Maxy Gawn and a few others didn't think much of his character last night... AFL is a performance based game that is judged purely on game day output and impact. It's a ruthless business. He's been on the AFL list for 6 years for 16 AFL games. This is all the enough evidence that I need to judge him on. Go on the Doggies footy forums and they're scathing of his performance last night.
  14. Could have easily kicked 3 for the night. His ball use going inside 50 was elite in the first quarter. Brings so much energy intent that compliments ANB, Spargo and Koz. He's tackling pressure and intensity is also at a really high level.
  15. Majority was dees. It was [censored] poor turn out by the doggies supporters. Probably around 12k of them and the rest Dees.
  16. Anyone think Caleb Daniel is seriously overrated? Chases the easy kicks and even when he does get the easy kick he coughed it up badly last night. Bailey Dale on the other hand is a seriously good footballer who would compliment our line up significantly.
  17. He'll get a few weeks unfortunately. Massive kudos to Brodie Grundy. Ran in with such intent to stick up for kozzie in that scuffle. Bloke cares for his teammates.
  18. I left Sparrow out because right now I see his role coming off the bench and just giving guys like Oliver and Petracca a breather. I know what you mean but..... I've accepted that reality Sparrow could turn out to be a Brad Sewell type player who'll be a good ordinary foot soldier that'll carve out a solid 150 game career.
  19. Harmes is the real worry for me to be honest. He started the game straight into the guts but was barely sighted at times. With Viney out and given the opportunity for more midfield minutes he only finished with 15 disposals. Seemed to fumble a lot last night and had little influence around the contests. When Viney is fit and ready to then he comes straight back in. I think Harmes is most vulnerable here to lose his spot to him.
  20. Baker showed last night why he was 2 years late in being delisted. Can't believe he and Hannan are running around at AFL level as we speak. Whilst Baker has good speed it's his inconsistencies in game to go missing for greater periods of the game, and also his tendency to butcher the footy under no pressure is why he's played 1 AFL game in two years. 5 minutes into the 3rd and at one stage Baker had only 3 disposal next to his name... I can imagine some of the current Dees players would have had a little giggle to themselves in being perplexed seeing his name on the team sheet come round 1.
  21. Anyone know what spurred Gawn to giving Baker a gobful in that 3rd quarter?
  22. Kozzy is a genuine superstar now. Please offer whatever he wants Tim Lamb. Trac, Oliver and Gawn just changed the game when they decided to put their foot down. McVee is genuinely cool and calm under the heat. With more experiences and game he'll get better and apply himself with much more confidence. Jason Taylor has unpacked another gem. Good to see Benny Brown up and about. 4 snags is a good start Lever was BOG down back alongside Tomlinson and Bowey. Just an overall great team performance. Unfortunately Oskar Baker and Mitch Hannan are VFL standard footballers. Still amazed Baker got given another chance at AFL level.
  23. [censored] yeah lads!! I'm putting my hand up, Tomlinson was bloody excellent!
