  1. There was some talk by the AFL that they were going to be bringing it back to only top 20 prospects again but don't think we'll see that this year.
  2. Well Riak didn't play yesterday as he had an interrupted pre season with knee surgery so he's definitely off to a good start in being behind the 8 ball. He's still a watch this space considering he made the Vic Country hub purely based on potential and not even playing NAB league games last year.
  3. Both. He looked like he had concrete boots on and struggle to get up the ground and be that leading CHF that we know him to be. I'm a tmac fan but unfortunately he looked absolutely cooked. Some had concerns with him round 1 against the doggies where as i didnt, but after Friday night I'm certainly concerned with his form and body moving forward.
  4. About the same. Young Kynan is a hard nut though. Played majority of the game on ball and more forward in the last quarter. He's an in and under who's got a good burst of speed out of the stoppages. Honestly he's like a cleaner and quicker version of Jack Viney. Sometimes I even see Josh Daicos as well with how nimble he can be around stoppages. He's a left footer at similar height. One thing that caught me by surprise watching him was his vision and awareness especially going inside 50. There were times I thought he was going to blaze away when he would burst out of stoppages but he lowered his eyes and would hit up the leading forward. His ball use is very clean and certainly won't have any issues with delivering the footy inside 50 or around the ground in general. Really intrigued to see how he's goes this year especially when the under 18's championships start.
  5. But he's not though..
  6. Two NGA prospects heading into this year. New one that has come through goes by the name of Coren Giliam. 181cm who plays as forward and is listed for Dandenong Stringrays squad. Didn't play on the weekend. The other is Riak Andrew who is Mac Andrew's brother. 193cm 70kg tall who plays up forward and has speed. Riak is a current member of the Vic Country hub and will definitely be one to keep an eye on this year. Another who's on the Dandenong Stingrays squad.
  7. See Noah Yze thread. I've just commented.
  8. Noah made his debut today as a bottom age player for the Oakleigh Chargers against Brisbane. There was some good glimpse from Noah today who gathered 10 disposals and kicked 1.1. He's listed at 189cm tall but being a bottom age player and still growing he could end up around the 191-192cm mark by mid next year where he'll be eligible for the 2024 AFL draft.
  9. Kynan had a solid game today picking up 23 disposals and kicked 1.1 Watched the whole game today and all I will say is that Melbourne fans will be excited when he officially becomes a Dee.
  10. Mate he didn't play.. I watched the whole game yesterday. The photo is from the previous week against the doggies I the practice match. He played for Dandenong Stingrays today.
  11. For those that are wondering why Kyah didn't play for Casey yesterday? Kyah will be playing at lower level in the Coates Talent League level for Dandenong Stingrays. He was named in his first game today but not sure how he went.
  12. That pass inside 50 by Yze was impressive for a big guy. Was running at too speed and composed himself well.
  13. Kynan winning bit of the ball in the 1st quarter so far. Very clean kicking skills on display. Noah Yze already has a goal next to his name.
  14. And a completely banged up Matthew Taberner.
  15. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but wonder if Freo had their time again they'd save the draft picks and money and instead go full throttle for Aaron Naughton?
  16. Do we know if Schache actually failed a concussion test or was he just taken off in the last quarter for precautionary for next week?
  17. They still may bring in JVR for Gawn and keep McDonald as the 2nd ruckman.
  18. Yeah Jefferson was really impressive. Must admit I was worried when we picked him up in the draft as I didn't know if his frame could stand up to the rigours of AFL footy. But after yesterday, I was blown away by some of his contested marking against the bigger bodies. His stats read as kicking 0.5, so the fact he's putting himself in a position to score will hold him in good stead moving forward.
  19. Jordon would be my pick also. JVR was crashing picks yesterday and his follow up work at ground level is far superior to Tmac.
  20. Kye Turner was the big surprise for me. Haven't not seen him play before he was impressive giving drive and dash off half back. He certainly drills the footy low and flat as well. Keeps his form up and he could potentially debut this year.
  21. If you go back to my post last week before the round 1 game you'll find that I mentioned that Melksham is a smart option for the sub purely because he has the ability to kick quick goals. He came on 5 minutes into the first quarter and had absolutely zero impact on the game. Not sure why you're bringing the whole "he replaced Max" , because he didn't? Grundy replaced Max. Its not like he came in to replace the actual position. That's not the way the sub should be judged on. After watching Casey yesterday it's reassured to me that it's time we start focusing on the likes of Laurie, JVR, Jordon and even AMW (who was pretty impressive) as options moving forward.
  22. Just play JVR.. seriously, he's done his time and deserves reward ahead of the likes of Melksham.
