Why you should Become a Melbourne Supporter (according to Chat GPT)
Impressive @Big Col, and thanks @DeelightfulPlay. For me, too, it's the kind of thing I'd be all over. As in, I'm (all) over it.

Brian Wilson’s 1982 Brownlow Medal Returned
What you've all said above, about the club and Brian, and then some! Wikipedia reminds me he is believed to be the only player to have won a Brownlow Medal at his third club and, at 20 years of age, he was the youngest winner since Bob Skilton won his first medal in 1959. His and Peter Moore's medals were little rays of sunshine in the dark days. He finally participated in the club's relative success in 1987 and '88. I remember the expectation on him as the only player in the '87 squad to have played finals. Footnote: Curious that the medal 'landed on [GP's] desk' 3 months ago? I guess they had to do a bit of checking, for example for authenticity. And maybe a bit of (successful but secret?) sleuthing?

VOTES: Rd 01 vs Western Bulldogs
6 - Mr Petracca (not so much real-time, at the game: swayed by his highlights package this morning) 5 - Mr Gawn (downgrade victim of the above) 4 - Mr Lever 3 - Mr Oliver 2 and 1 - Mr Tomlinson and 'My Boy' respectively (pushing out our two quadruplians cos I wanted to show them both some deserved love, and the latter gets a debut loading)

CASEY: Rd 01 vs Footscray
Seemingly 'towelled up' at 'theirs' in the praccy game this weekend? Interested in any reporting from watchers. Hopefully a different result next week at 'Fortress Fields'! Ins and outs, watchers?

Mammoth Re-signing: 28 Demons Stay Loyal To Club
Wasn't it! I hope the players got more out of it than we (and the club - good thoughts, @poita) appeared to be giving them! At least there seemed to be some nice personal interactions when they got round to the DA area where I was.

Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition
Took your advice, @BDA and @adonski, and also had consideration for the 'red', @rpfc, and watched only the highlights. 'Twas sufficient... I did check in on their team song, though (we can afford to be magnanimous regarding Saints/1/66), expecting unbridled joy, but...meh. Our boys, and the team around them, know important wins when they see them.

McVee & Laurie vs Baker
Sorry if this has been asked/answered elsewhere, but do any 'Landers know, with authority, who is on the selection panel and what the relative weights of their inputs are? At Round 1, with no 'real' match form to go on, the selections of 'My Boy' McVee and 'Bill' Laurie suggest a body of attributes being seen in them, by possibly a range of informed perspectives, over the preseason's training routines, simulations, etc.
