  1. I love Trac too. But I have always believed he has been a very slow starter. I wonder if its anything to do with his pre-match routine. When I played competition Squash I always did 20 ‘court sprints’ to get the heart rate up before starting the match. Without doing this you can be lethargic at the start. Also after a few hard rallies at the start you can feel struggling for breath and fatigued too early. I am sure the brains trust at Melbourne recognise these things. However I think Trac really needs to be charged going on to the field. The game is not that long that you can afford to take a quarter to get going. Also he has always inexplicably fumbled at times. Even when he has the ball under control he can fumble(drop) it for no reason I want him to stay and get back to his brillant best.
  2. My memories of Hassa 1) Kicking the goal from the boundary line at Glenferrie Oval in 1964 to get us into the finals (2nd spot I think) 2) Missing the goal that would have put us in front in the 64 GF . My heart sank but thank God for Neil Crompton. 3 Being badly concussed at South Melbourne in the goal square from a high hit. Getting up groggy and played on only to get another bad knock. Wouldnt happenthese days. 4 ) Met him a couple of times at the Bentleigh Club. Lovely bloke.
  3. I am going to and staying in Adelaide for both games. I need suggestions as to where Demon supporters will be eating and drinking before ( and after) the game.
  4. Played Squash against him twice. A tough competitor.
  5. I think I saw something that resembled the Melbourne team of 2021. Resilience. There were many times in 2021 our lead was challenged but we rose to the occasion and had a good win. I believe I saw this again on Sunday.
  6. Growing on me like a tumour
  7. I have been to GESAC pool the last 2 weeks. 4 swimming carnivals , over 200 kids with supervising adults around a 50 m pool
  8. I believe we should be doing a lot more to bring in new members mainly young. Whatever happened to football clinics ,school and otherwise. We have some great assets in Petraaca ,Gawn ,Oliver who are not only great respected footballers but to me seem to have good personalities. In particular Petracca seems to be such a great down to earth guy who be great with kids. I guess these guys doing clinics might be taking time from training or their other duties. They are being paid well so I dont believe they should resent doing clinics. Memberships bring in reliable renewal income which ensures long term financial health of the club. We also use to telephone lapsed and prospective members by the players. I agree we need todouble our efforts in the maximum number of members from our current success.
  9. My mother’s favourite player.
  10. I was at the Best and Fairest on Friday night. I have received a text from the Vic Dept of Health saying I may have been exposed to Covid 19 at the event. I was wondering ifeverybody at the event has got this text and have to get a test and isolate until a negative result is given. I wonder if this impacts on players ,coaches etc . On the other hand it maybe that I was close ,ie only a table or two away, that I have become a close contact.
  11. Tickets were sold to members iin early August or around there.
  12. I emailed the club last night as coincidence might have it. They responded this morning. They say Feb 2022 but are looking to perhaps bringing it forward. I thought they should do it this year but maybe itis hard to get things booked. I bought a ticket and was looking forward to it and i think Feb next year loses some of the significance of our premiership win .
  13. Petracca willsave his best footy for the Grannie
  14. Takes a lot of hard knocks though ,could these wear him down over time.
