  1. Good post. Sparrow played the best game I've seen him play last week, but no-one is ''deserving'' off the back of one good Casey game. If he strings a few together he'll get his opportunity.
  2. Right now Weideman would be better than Brown, but I understand the call. It's easy to forget that Weideman will start playing his best footy in 2-3 years when he hits 26. I'd rather lose Brown or McDonald than Weideman.
  3. I agree with it because it was the change I'd hoped for. Jones is no longer a midfielder, as you assert. He's playing a pressure HF role. Unlike many here, I prefer Melksham to Jones. It was clearly out of those two as to who was going to be omitted. I want to support a caring but ruthless footy club. Jones was honoured brilliantly by the club, but it has also shown it does what good clubs do, select the best team to win as they explore the right team balance across the course of the season. This side is as good as it gets. One can debate Weideman v McDonald, but in essence their current outputs are about the same, so they cancel each other out.
  4. He attacked aerial contests really well, but I thought he lacked a little urgency when the ball was on the deck. Easily fixed.
  5. Weideman and Brown is by far the best combination at AFL level. I'd hate to lose Weideman due to McDonald's good form. Hats off to McDonald, but Weideman will be a better AFL forward and IS the future.
  6. I'm interested in observations and information I may not know, but I couldn't care less about how they ''feel''.
  7. I don't hate or even dislike Howe. I have no emotion, as I'm not invested in him. That said, I couldn't care less what some supporters feel. It's inconsequential to me. Why do you care what others think ?
  8. It wouldn't surprise me if Jones' 301 game is as the sub, which would mean just one change to the 23. In: Brown Out: Chandler
  9. Brown, Weideman and Fritsch is ideal for me, but all credit to McDonald for the year he's having.
  10. Coleman - 12.
  11. I wouldn't automatically rule out a player that will be 32 next year, but in Howe's case his body has been ravaged with injury.
  12. He shouldn't be. Tom McDonald is keeping Weideman out, not Brown.
  13. Jones out was the obvious move. I suspect Chandler will come in, although I'm happy for either Bedford or Chandler. It's also time to get Brown in.
  14. We need Brown in the team. We'll be better with a quality FF. McDonald is keeping Weideman out. That's just the way it is. Brown should come in for Jones.
  15. I suspect not. He's played 7 quarters of competitive football coming back from a significant layoff. Their conversations would have been about managing him, getting his body right and getting him back out there with a few games under his belt.
  16. It's hardly ''leaking''. For decades Saturday teams were released on Thursdays. We bloody well should know by now anyway.
  17. Some posters are seemingly unaware of the quality of @Yokozuna's inside information.
  18. Thanks mate.
  19. Weideman ? So you're saying just the two changes ?
  20. Salem's having an A-grade year and wouldn't look out of place on a HBF in the AA team. In fact, we've got 8 players that are staking claims to be considered. But it's early days and their challenge is to maintain or even improve as the year continues.
  21. Well I got that utterly wrong. The club has nailed every selection decidion this year. Let's hope they keep the balance right for Richmond on Saturday night.
  22. It's all about the swelling and concussion. If the swelling is down enough and he passes the concussion protocols then he rightly should be selected.
  23. Disagree.
  24. Jones will obviously play, but if Bedford keeps up that type of form the quicker he's in (at Jones' expense) the better. He would make us better than Jones presently does.
