  1. Because Terlich and Riley are not injured, they are in full training, I specifically asked both of them so I could put exactly what was going on
  2. On the 7 games in, McCartney doesn't mind a chat, I asked his opinion of last week and the NAB Challenge in general, that was his reply verbatim, and looking at the fixtures why he picked 7
  3. Gee, that's a good rant, I chat to them because I have interacted with them at various other things besides training, and they are human beings, they don't mind a chat either. and neither do I Polite, well not all of them, Hogan walking menacingly towards me, laughing and walking away, Dunn towering over me, Toumpas and Salem taking the [censored] all the time.....do you miss social interaction?....me, it's all good fun I am realistic, I came up with this analogy, since 2007 WE(the club, the supporters, the media), dug a hole and we fell in, we then kicked the ladder away, we have now found the ladder again, we now need to climb out of the hole Roos and PJ both believe we should be able to play a final next year I wish sometimes we could turn over some posters on here (yourself not included at the moment) because they are no good, but you can always not read their contributions
  4. Very good, we should see all of them plus, hold your excitement, Terlich and Riley
  5. Yeah right, actually it doesn't stand, it staggers for a bit and then falls over...............so he had the virus the week of the Freo game, so missed a weeks training and lost a bit of weight, had to do extra training, with Roos wanting a settled team. was able to play for Casey in second ruck/forward role with fitness nearly back, now back at full fitness, so Casey again, but this time trialling in a new role, at the coaching staff's suggestion
  6. Love some of the comments on here, a poster (keyboard hero)(and supposedly a supporter) called Fitzy a turd, and couldn't even get the spelling right Another said I sugar coat, I keep repeating we need to see the ball movement in games, we saw bits of it against Freo, a half against the Doggies and a bit against Essendon, I know where we are at, after NAB Challenge, have not changed my opinion of maybe 6 or 7 wins this year The coaches have made the decision to try and get Fitzy to play in defence, not anybody on here, so the Messiah must have had a hand in it, or is his halo tarnished now?
  7. Gawn playing ruck at Casey? Spencer playing ruck at Casey?.......for most of the last three or four years, both have been injured quite a lot, so I think you will find Fitzy has done a lot more ruck work than you give him credit for, when not injured himself
  8. Billy, no he has just had rotten luck with illness and injury, he finally did his first full pre season this year and then got a virus that put him in bed for a week, just before the first NAB game, at least he can laugh about it. He knows this is a make or break year, so of course if they suggest a move to full back, he is going to take it and give it the best he can
  9. Yes, but what you are conveniently forgetting is when he was back at Casey he mainly rucked or at times second rucked, so how do you work on your craft as a key forward in games if you have to ruck?
  10. Actually the skills weren't too bad this morning, hopefully it will translate into Rd 1
  11. And you base this on? Fitzy's field kicking is above average, or so the coaches tell me, hence the trial at full back...edit hit backspace instead of post first time
  12. It is like anybody, sometimes the harder you try the worse it gets, or if you don't improve you are gone
  13. He is not a key forward, he has been a "ruckman/forward", so a goal a game is not a bad return, if compared to some of the other ruckman/forwards, say Max Gawn (who was flavour of the month, before the NAB Challenge), has kicked 12 in 26 games
  14. Just a general note, as you know I speak to all the players, they know the supporters opinion of them, they know where their shortcomings are, and the guys who are not superstars and who are coming out of contract at the end of the season know if they don't put in a good season it will probably be their last for their particular club in the present environment
  15. BBO, he is fully aware as to where he is at. Think some tend to forget that he is a big guy, has had to develop his body, whilst battling shoulder reconstrucitons, chronic fatigue and diabetes, as a forward he has kicked 22 goals in 19 games, so he is not that bad up forward, adding another string to his bow if he can become a full back as well, as well as adding something to the team
  16. You will also like this bit from the Scorps website as well then Jack Fitzpatrick was put in an unfamiliar role down back but demonstrated his versatility by taking six marks and repetitively repelling Port’s entries into forward 50.
  17. Said he really enjoyed it, he needs a good year, if it works kudos to the coaching staff, Rawlings doing some work with him Not sure what the hell they are doing with Frost, was doing stoppage work today with HL, N Jones, Viney and Michie
  18. The fitness staff are concerned with the miles in the legs these days, because Terlich and Riley had an interrupted pre season, they have had specific programs, the plan was to have them ready this week, again professional, so they could get a couple of practice games in. Hunt will be the same, if and when they get his back right, and why it has taken Howe 10 weeks to be allowed near a game
  19. Missing Terlich, Riley, Petracca, Hunt, Trengove,, McKenzie ... Cross and Newton were sent indoors by Misson after coming out. Howe and Vince did most stuff today. Mostly drills in their respective groups, again ball movement. We now have a 200cm full back in training, Fitzy trained with defenders, spoke to him, was told last Thursday he was going to be trialled at fullback at Casey, said he enjoyed it, only cocked up once when he went on a good lead, only to remember he was now a defender and his opponent had gone other way. Frost trained with the midfield mostly? JKH issue was an infected cut, he is fine now. Also spoke to Aaron Vandenberg, he agrees he took one bounce too many on the run in for his goal, and shanked the kick, happy to see it go through. Spoke to Brendan McCartney, said Friday was ordinary, only good thing was it showed the players what happens when you don't play as a team, said it was only NAB Challenge, how the team is travelling is something to look at 7 weeks into the season, finds it hilarious the Pies are already being written off. Roos had a good chat to the squad at the beginning, must have gone for five or six minutes, they had a good laugh about something at the end, which is good to see. Pics on Twitter Demonpk Any questions feel free
  20. I get a bit bored with posters saying they are not informed, I have put this in four or five training threads, I apologise for the gruffness
  21. I have put this about five times, so here is six, Terlich and Riley have not done sufficient training yet to play, they should play this weekend for Casey along with hopefully Howie and Vince
  22. joeboy, Only disagree with three this time Garland - solid Jetta - solid Newton - ordinary And yes I was at the game
  23. I don't particularly like it when I am misquoted for somebody to make a point I have consistently said the skills have improved at training, it is whether we will see the improvement in games is another matter We saw it in bits and pieces against Freo We saw it for a half against the Bulldogs And we saw it from a minority tonight I think watchtheeyes report/review mostly very good
  24. This is the Footy Show and Barrett, if we stop now and the club and H stand together, it will go away I watched for five minutes, when it was noticed Gary Lyon was now wearing glasses, Bill Brownless called him 'four eyes', as a spectacle wearer for 40 odd years, I intend to go in and complain in person tomorrow
