  1. The TV commentators said he started on the back of the square as an extra.
  2. Not according to the media. 750K is the expected offer from GWS. From what I can remember, Melksham is on 400, Lumumba was on 500, and Bernie Vince got a lucrative deal for 2017. Josh Kelly is easily worth 800. Prestia is on about that and Kelly is a thousand times better than him (which I guess you have now figured out ) But it's clear North rate him a lot higher than we do, we have passed him up two times and they have publicly said they tried to get the mini draft pick we used on Hogan to draft Kelly.
  3. I'll bite. Moore has been a big disappointment this season. He kicked 5 goals in his 3rd game of football. He has had impressive pre season games and I think most people really rate him based on his game against West Coast last season. Most people have figured him out now (don't let him run and jump at the ball). The big difference between the two players is Darcy Moore is quick. Darcy Moore kicked 24 goals in 17 games in his second season. I'm on record as being critical of the selection of Weideman, it's due to the overall package. I agree he flies for his marks well but his inability to compete at ground level and change direction is a major concern. On Petracca, I find it strange they didn't compare him to Stringer or Wingard, who play similar roles.
  4. You quoted my post referring to a statement regarding that.
  5. I will find it hard to disagree with that but my point was he was capable of doing that in his 3rd year, Brayshaw can't even hold his place in a team that has all kinds of NQR's getting games. Tyson also kicked 16 goals that year. To say Brayshaw can do everything plus some is far fetched.
  6. I don't necessarily disagree with this statement, but his kicking has been poor this season. A large number of his kicks have hung in the air too long and been intercepted or spoilt as a result. I think this is playing a part in the amount of handbalsl as he appears to have lost some confidence in his kicking.
  7. Not sure if you're are being serious or a smarta$$. 2014 and came 4th last year.
  8. Well I guess I can remember his only good kick for the night then, a lovely long ball to Hogan, who should have got a free on this occasion. Not many players on our list could have made that pass. Kent and Petracca are probably the only other players who would have got that kind of penetration. Except find the football.......... Tyson has been poor this season, but in his 3rd season he came 2nd in our best and fairest. While Brayshaw is struggling to get a game and gets better with each game he doesn't play on this board.
  9. Love him, but not a chance, J. Riewoldt and T. Nankervis the dominant players on the ground.
  10. Yes. Our original pick was used on Will Brodie.
  11. Milera, Rioli, Gresham and Burton. Florin maybe also, but I haven't seen him play much.
  12. His handballs were standard handballs, nothing more, nothing less. For much of the game he was also opposed to a first gamer (he did have Gibson at times). I think if you look back on his stats prior to joining the AFL you will also see that he was a low possession, low mark player. At this stage his attributes are those of a giant KPP. In the mould of a Hawkins, Boyd, Patton. The problem is he will never be that big. Interesting way of looking at it. I actually have a very different take on it and query why we have gone need specific with such an early pick. It seems like Luke Molan, Lucas Cook all over again. Some very handy smaller types taken just after Weideman in his draft. Then there is also this years draft to take into account as we forced our way out of it because we were so determined to draft a KPP.
  13. CC, I remember him posting on here shortly after.
  14. I'm not sure if you missed the point. They were drafted in different years.
  15. Sufficient I think you mean. They took Ellis with pick 12 and lever went pick 14.
  16. Ohhh you reminded me, can confirm from training two weeks ago that he does wear a mouthguard. Takes it out quite often between play.
  17. Good game and nice to see him getting a lot more of the ball through to the end. Still has a lot of work to do defensively, a prime example was priddis goaling in the second quarter. Oliver was ball watching after the centre bounce while priddis streamed forward and had 30m space. Tried to catch up but was too far behind.
  18. As the poster did not state a trade, they may have meant a 4th round as compensation, so it is is probably worth mentioning that 4th rounders are not available as compensation for free agents.
  19. Of course it is. The poster implied (IMO) that Taylor had a fantastic record which I believe is not the case and would have made a great pick at selection 30. Agree to disagree if you can't see that. I have stated I think Hunt is a good pick yet you keep bringing it up. My point is other recruiters picked up players of similar quality with similar picks. Many quality players were taken between JKH and Hunt which other recruiters have equally nailed. Salem is probably what causes us to have a different opinion on Taylor, I think he had to make a good pick at 57 to make up for the 2 picks prior to this while you think he has done well at pick 9 and 57. My issue with the JKH and ANB selections are more their attributes or lack of certain attributes which was always going to make it hard for them to succeed. Obviously you're not going to nail every pick and sometimes luck can make you look like a superstar in recruiting. I don't believe he has been bad, but my original point was I don't believe he has a great record like some on here, including you, make out. Will be interesting to read in a few years.
  20. Semantics, the poster I responded to stated Jason Taylor's potential pick would make us sad. It was pick 30. The nearest picks he has had have been JKH and ANB and neither player excites me in any way. Second part, fair enough. I stated some good players were taken around this pick. For instance Essendon went into the draft with pick 26 and 55 and ended up with Merrett and Fantasia, that is something that would make me think the recruiter was a genius. But as I have stated I think it was a good pick. Third part, Salem was a disappointment this year prior to his injury. Players often get overrated by fans when they are injured and this appears to be the case here. While he does have many assets which will be valuable his inability to spread at speed is a concern as is best his position at AFL level. This has moved somewhat from drafting to recruitment and while I don't agree with many of the assessments I would say Mahoney, Viney and Roos would be just as responsible for many of these decision. Not sure if it's an oversight with Zach Merrett or you just don't rate him? Right under our nose at Sandy.
  21. The jury is still out IMO. 2013 draft return looking average, not great like many here would have you believe. Salem this far a disappointment for pick 9. JKH a poor selection. Hunt a good selection but other recruiters took some good players around the same pick. Harmes an adequate pick. 2014 OK once again. 2,3 - Petracca, Brayshaw picked themselves, but interesting we didn't bid on Moore who looks a better player than the latter. Wright wasn't in the discussion but looking back now he should have been. Have read in Emma Quayles book that we told him he would have to be a ruckman at AFL level and not a forward. Not sure if this is Roos' philosophy or JT's. Stretch FS. Don't rate ANB and didn't at the time of the draft. McDonald is a player with clear limitations but at this pick that's a pass. AVB an OK pick. 2015. This one has me the most nervous. Oliver a fantastic pick but Weideman has me worried (not just based on his 2 games), more his playing style and the way footy is being played. Has a lack of agility, ability to get involved in the game without marking and poor - average field kicking along with some of the worst defensive efforts I have seen. This was clearly the biggest risk he has taken at the draft so it will be interesting to see how it pans out. Hullett is looking promising from all reports but have barely seen him. Also I have mentioned this part before, but the fact he rated Lewis Taylor in the top 9 players in the 2013 draft is concerning.
  22. Is this the biggest myth on Demonland?
  23. I think this quote was from his pre-game interview with triple M. Jay Clark was stating it as fact that Hibberd was coming to Melbourne and Goodwin had to play it down a bit. He handled the interview well but you could tell it's a done deal.
  24. Interesting you say this, while he does evade quite well I would say his agility is poor for a player of his size. He seems to have a rather large turning circle and his evasive moves normally result in him going the wrong way. He is tracking nicely but this would be my main concern along with his slow ball drop at this stage.
