  1. I have only seen the foxtel games for this crop including last year as 17 year olds, but he seems to really overrate the talls in this draft. I think Braysahw, O'Brien and Hunter Clark are much better prospects than he is giving them credit for. It seems others rate Stephenson a lot higher also, but he is one I find hard to judge. Don't like his kicking action at all. Jason Taylor said something similar about the talls coming through in the draft in the podcast.
  2. Conversely posters like you think everything he says is right? As has been pointed out he obviously is going to stick up for a young player in public. What did you think at quarter time when he thought we were doing well against GWS? Did you think those 3 goals would be gold later in the game? He is either extremely positive or delusional. And yes I always want the best possible outcome in every situation, ridiculous concept I know.
  3. No quotes......I'm tipping he just looked on Demonland and saw the reference to the podcast.
  4. In the injury update Burgan says Hogan 2-3 weeks and Misson says he still has some boxes to tick off so probably unlikely for either.
  5. Trade Tyson and Salem for him In all seriousness, I think he would frustrate the hell out of us. Having a great season but for a good kick always misses when going for goal.
  6. Thought it was his best and most complete game. Some really good marks and lots of composure and run.
  7. Also keep in mind he was home during the week for personal matters, hopefully he gets back to what we know his capable of this week. We need him back to his best.
  8. These sort of comparisons are silly. Weideman is so far off Moore, Daniher and Hipwood at this stage of his career it's not even funny. They are also all quick. Hipwood 29 goals in his 2nd year. Daniher 28 goals in his 2nd year. Moore 24 goals in his 2nd year. Schache has been a disappointment this season, but showed a heap more than Weideman last year. Brown barely jumps at the ball so I don't really see the need the compare the two.
  9. The thing is Weideman didn't play a whole lot of football in his underage years so we have probably seen more of him now than Taylor saw when he drafted him. Was a risk and is looking like we missed the best option at that pick (Curnow). This was a pick that was based on potential more than output. Curnow would have been another pick on potential but the main difference between the two is athleticism which will forever hold Weideman back in my opinion.
  10. Demonland podcast, Troy Chaplin says it. Was going to have a session to test out the shoulder on Saturday and it was dependent on that going well.
  11. I think the giants would of smashed us again today but not many here seem to agree. Goodwin said at quarter time vs the giants, our 3 goals could be 'gold' at the end of the game. Of course he is going to stick up for a player and so he should. Weideman is quite frankly not up to it at this stage and we are essentially a man down. Carlisle did what he wanted, luckily for us, he is an average decision maker and kick.
  12. Yes, also know many people who were involved with him at the rams and not a bad word said. Top bloke. Haven't, heard the press conference, but it's not like their turnovers in the 1st quarter were a result of extreme pressure, they were just awful.
  13. Disagree, got lucky with some poor entries when we had clear options open. An example is Lewis bombing in and Harmes taking a mark 2 on 1 when Weideman was all alone 40 out. There were many other times similar things happening but they get overshadowed because of individual efforts. I'm glad we have players capable of winning 2 on 1s but I'd rather we played a team game. Lets not kid ourselves, StKilda were as bad as a I can remember a team in the 1st quarter.
  14. Mr. Negative here, Glad we won, but we were shithouse. StKilda were just much worse. The forward entries still a major concern, players bombing away when they should be looking around. Pedo, well done, puts that ridiculous Pederson vs Weideman debate to bed. Brayshaw, a great return game. Hannan clutch.
  15. He has a habit of doing that exact move, the difference is he usually gets his opponent in the stomach. Jeremy Howe is another who regularly kicks players to protect his ground.
  16. Form, he was loose in the 1st quarter and didn't impact the game.
  17. What was Stringer to the bulldogs? I would assume their highest goal scorer of the previous 2 years. He has been putrid and if he plays this week he owes everyone a giant game.
  18. Why? This is perfect for us, we now have more control over our finals aspirations than if West Coast were to win.
  19. I raised this point about a month ago, my jaw dropped when I heard Goodwin say something along the lines of 'we don't have inside and outside players'. Well we witnessed what happens when a team does on the weekend. The closest thing to it on our list but still not the answer. He is too slow for the role and doesn't take risks, always turns back instead of taking the game on like you want your outside players to do.
  20. I'm pretty sure the conversation would turn to his speaking skills pretty quickly.
  21. I'll take the 6 tackles and pressure of Pederson. Weideman was a liability late last season and has not earned the right to get back in. It's great that he is taking the marks at VFL but I doubt this will translate to the AFL at this stage of his career. Considering he has poor agility and pressure (1 game aside), I hope we don't take the risk. Edit: I'd be just as happy to go in small and play with an extra runner, but it really is a struggle to find another player worthy of a game.
  22. Higgins stitched him up last time. 100% agree with the point regarding tackles, couldn't believe some of Petracca's efforts. Unfortunately I could believe many of Watts' efforts. Our game plan isn't suited to playing in conditions like this. A game plan based around bombing a ball in and locking it in rather than looking for targets is always going to struggle to score against a breeze.
